89 Chapter 89

Of course she didn't have a clue. She was in a messy situation. The people with her were trying molest her. But with them gone, she didn't know what to do either.

She didn't know how to drive a carriage or take care of the horses or do any of the things required for the journey. The food and necessaties were kept in the space ring which belonged to Diviere.

Without any supplies and no clue how to proceed it would be almost impossible to survive.

Aaron sighed. He understood what sort of situation the girl was in. He knew it was hard for a young girl to travel the grassland alone. He decided since he was here, he could take her till next town.

"Listen staying here is pointless. I am travelling across this grassland myself. So why don't you travel with me till the next town. You could head to a branch of your family or the the mage association once we reach there. "

Aaron was kind hearted enough to help the girl to the next town atleast.

"Ok." The girl said in a small voice. She had courage. She was rational enough to understand the situation and quicky come to a decision.

"Collect your belongings. I will bury the dead mean while. "

Although Aaron had no relation to the dead men. He could at least bury them and not let them exposed to the elements.

A spade with an atomic edge proved to be the best digging tool. He was quickly done and the girl had collected her small bundle which Aaron promptly kept in his spatial ring.

"Is your carriage far? " the girl finally asked Aaron. Although she showed a strong front, but she was still shaken. She didn't think she could walk very far.

"I don't have a carriage. " Aaron replied.

What? No carriage? How was he travelling the grassland. Was he walking though it?

No. They were in a carriage. They would have come across him on their journey if he was following the same road. They would have overtaken him one time atleast or seen signs of someone for sure.

There was only a single road through this grassland and it was next to impossible to continuously walk through the dense tall grass.

And if he was hiding from them, what was he hiding for? Was he a part of the team who had attacked the carriage? But why would he act otherwise? Katrina knew she was of no importance.

Yes she was a mage. She thought she held a lot of importance before. Wherever people saw her in her mage robe, they bowed and gave her space. She did highly of her self.

She was even offered to join the mage association.

But only when she joined did she find the truth about things. She was just a violet level non combat mage light mage. The only importance she held was that she could perhaps help in making the lighting devices which were commonly used by the mages.

As a result the Jhonson family branch had decided to send her to central city where there production houses were present. She was an outsider who was a little better than servants in the family.

Once she understood her position she thought about leaving the family. But it turned out she had signed the contract without going through it. The contract said she couldn't leave before 5 years. If she wanted to, she had to pay a fee of 10000 mage stones for each year she had left in the contract. Even if there was a day left, it would count as a year as per the contract.

Where was she going to get that? She hailed from a small village. They had an unofficial mage residing there who found that Katrina had little talent for magic. Little did truly mean little in her case.

She had no savings or whatever to have so many mage stones.

She had no other options then to work for the family for 5 years.

The family scion Diviere was about to travel to Tulip city. She was put as part of his entrouge for the journey.

The journey started well. But Diviere started to make advances on her. It was mild flirting at first. Which to be honest had pleased her a little initially. But the insistence on Diviere's part out her off.

She denied his advances but couldnt be too agressive either.

Diviere at the end turned to force. He was probably tired of the gentleman's way. He made his mind to force himself on her.

Call it her luck or Diviere's bad luck that just the moment he was about to do the deed, the attackers showed up.

The attackers proved to be her saviours in the end.

But now the question was that how was she going to travel through the grassland.

With all her doubts about Aaron, she didn't feel that he had malicious intentions towards her. If he did, he saw her in her weakest state in the carriage. He could have done whatever he had wanted at that moment. But he didn't.

So, even if she had to follow him walking through the grassland she would probably be safe.

Only problem was that she wasn't in a position to walk very far. She felt very tired at the moment. All she wanted to do was lie down to rest and forget about all that happened.

But alas, she couldn't. If she had to walk she would need some time before she started. Maybe resting a little would give her enough strength to walk.

With the bodies removed from sight, this was a good enough place to rest with the carriage providing protection from the sun.

She suddenly realised she had been standing quietly for a while. The mage Aaron had been looking at her waiting for her to say something.

"Okay. But I need to rest for a while before I get can walk. " She said in a much better tone.

"You can rest if you want. It's alright. But why do we need to walk? "

Was the guy planning on using the carriage which belonged to Diviere? There was definitely no harm in using it. There was no one here to claim it.

He knew how to drive a carriage though? He was a mage still learned such a menial job? Looks like he had a hard life as well like her.

But if he was going to use the carriage, she could rest while he drove. There was no point in wasting time standing here.

"Okay. You can drive the carriage, I will rest within. If will prepare the meal in the evening if you provide the ingredients. "

She could help with that. She wouldn't be a burden. The man was already doing enough.

Aaron finally understood what she was talking about.

"You misunderstood me. We definitely don't need to walk or use a carriage. "

"You see, I am a space mage. "
