79 Chapter 79

Aaron did a few test rides. With the addition of the handle, manoeuvring the whole thing became much more easy.

He could even tilt the board a little to make sharp turns and braking or sudden acceleration was much easier.

He really felt as a young kid. He remembered the days when he used to roam about the streets on his scooter with his friends.

The whole thing brought him memories. He was home sick. He wanted to be home. Both on earth and his new home here as well.

But Aaron had things to do. He couldn't afford to go home now. And he had no idea how he could go home. Any one of them.

As Aaron was busy scouring the books at the library and perfecting his hover board, a month was nearly over. He had tried and moved on a little from the whole incident a month back.

Also it was time to meet the person or persons the bandit leader was supposed to meet.

Aaron dressed in casual clothes for the meet. He felt much better wearing such clothes.

While visiting the Mage association, he had to wear the robes. Else everyone looked at him weird. He felt all mage like at the beginning when he started to wear the thing. But now he didn't feel good wearing the thing. It was quite bothersome and hindered movement.

Aaron reached the destined meeting place. The place chosen was a busy restaurant in the city during lunch time.

He was asked to take a table and sit. The person who was supposed to meet him would find him themselves. From what he managed to read, even the bandit leader hadn't seen the person before.

Aaron took a table at the place. He ordered some food after waiting for a while. If nothing else, he could atleast have his lunch. The quality of food at this place was rather good.

As Aaron was quietly eating his food, he saw a person come and sit opposite him.

The newcomer was an old looking man. He had the beginning of a bald spot on his head. He was a little chubby with a clean face.

He pretty much looked like a common person you would find walking on the streets.

No one spoke for a while. Aaron too continued eating. He didn't know where to start the conversation anyways. And if the person was who he thought he was.

"So, looks like Brian didn't make it. Were you the one who got him in the end?" the person made an enquiry.

"Who is Brian?" Aaron asked. Although he knew it must be the bandit he killed, he still tried to pretend otherwise.

"Please don't take me for a fool. I am older than your father perhaps. And your face gave you away. " The main said calmly.

He slowly picked up a piece of fried meat from Aaron's plate and started eating.

Seeing that Aaron pushed the plate towards the man.

"Yes, I was the one." Aaron finally said.

"You must be pretty strong for your age to get over Brian."

"You might have noticed, he wasn't actually easy to kill." He said picking the meat off the bones.

Brian might have been hard to kill for a normal mage with his healing. But for Aaron, it wasn't difficult at all.

"Yes he wasn't. I gave him an option to surrender. He didn't. "

"No one from our association would surrender you know."

"We all know what lies in store for us if we surrender. "

"Association?" Aaron asked.

"You haven't guessed it yet? Looks like you are still ignorant about a lot of things."

"We belong to the Anti mage association." He was licking the bone by the time he said this.

"Aren't you afraid I will report you to the association right now?" Aaron said.

The man dropped the bone on the plate and picked up another piece.

"Boy, As I said before. Don't take me for a fool. If you had the thoughts of reporting me to the association, you wouldn't be sitting here in the first place. "

"You came here to talk didn't you?"

"What if I was working for the association to trap you?"

The man snorted.

"If the association knew one of us was going to be here, trust me they wouldnt have sent you here. "

Aaron had no reply to that. His age always made people assume he wasn't strong enough.

"I know why you are here though. " He continued eating the pieces like he was hungry for a long time.

"You have questions in your mind which the association can't answer. Right?"

"Things keeping you up. You feel as if things are hidden from you."

"What if I tell you those things are true?" "There are indeed things hidden from you."

He busied himself eating while Aaron thought about what the man said.

What did he want from Aaron?

He surely wasnt talking to Aaron out of goodwill. Infact, he must have been angry at Aaron for killing someone of their association.

But why did he talk like he didn't care for any of that.

But there was other thing that Aaron wanted to ask first.

"How did you know I was the one waiting for you?"

The man pointed at his nose and said

"I could smell a mage. You were the only one here. "

"How did you know I was not Brian?" Aaron asked again

"As I said, I could smell a mage." He said with a grin this time.

Aaron knew he was implying something. But what was that something, he had no clue about.

"Okay what do you want from me?"

"You are not going to tell me those things for free. Are you?"

"I usually would have asked you to join our association and work under cover as a mage association member."

"But I know such things can't be forced. Loyalty needs to be gained. "

"If I ask you to join as a part of an exchange, you would only do it out of obligation."

"We don't want people like that. What we are after are people who are dedicated to our cause. "

"What I want from you is something else."

"What do you want?" asked Aaron. Aaron wanted to find answers. But it didn't mean he was willing to pay any price. He would find another way to do this if the man asked for a ridiculous thing.

"Buy me another plate of this meat. This is delicious."
