"The library here isn't particularly big. It's not a big branch after all. "

"So, I can access it whenever I want? I have a lot of holes in my memory, iI want to read and hope that it brings back some of it. " Aaron said

"Well, it might help."

"Access to the mage library requires you to pay a total of 50 mage stones per year. "

Aaron was surprised. He was told that the access would be free after he reached the green level. And he was a green level mage now. Did he required his combat level to be green as well?

He asked Park the same question.

"You know half the rules. How can anything be free? You always need to pay to gain something. "

"We don't bar any level mage from reading the books at the library. You just need to pay for it. And for any mage with a future, gaining 50 mage stones isn't that difficult."

"And for green level mages and above, you don't need to pay the magestones to access the library. But you need to clear a green level mission first. If you clear it successfully, you will have a life long access to the library."

"That's the price you pay to gain the 'free' access."

"So, if you want your access to the library, you either pay the fee or do the mission. You can choose either way. "

Indeed nothing was free in the world. Aaron didn't have mage stones on him. The way to gain magestone involved doing these missions or going to the whatever were the central cities to produce mage artifacts or offer his services.

Out of the three, offering services and production seemed a long term deal. The quickest way had to be the missions.

Aaron decided to try out these missions first. If it failed, he would try his hand at the other prospects.

He had left Park's office. He enquired for the missions at the reception.

"The highest mission you can select is the Green level. Since, we don't have many missions, we simply post them on the mission board. You can go and have a look. "

Aaron was pointed towards a normal looking board with pieces of paper pinned on it.

The whole set up gave Aaron a Adventurer's guild type of feeling which he had in a few books. And didnt his father used to say he was indeed a part of Adventurer's guild? He never enquired about it.

He had failed his parents. He never gave them enough importance. He only thought of them when he needed them. He was out here on this side, he didnt even know if he will ever see them again.

And his parents on earth? They probably didnt even have a clue as to what has happened to him. He didn't even remember when was the last time he talked to them before his reincarnation.

He had stopped thinking about earth these days. He was too involved in the life here and was kept busy.

But was that an excuse? He had always thought he would create things from earth once he had the opportunity. But he never did. Ofcourse he couldnt make anything really advanced but he could have made simpler things.

He knew the theories of how things worked. But it didnt mean he could make them.

For example, the knew the theory behind how semiconductors worked. But could he make one and use it to build a transistor? He couldn't.

Aaron shook his head. Now wasnt the time to think about these things. These things needed time. The first thing he wanted to do was figure the whole situation out.

He approached the board and began going through the missions.

There were only two green level missions.

"Help Mage Rafael in his experiments. Time period- for a minimum of six months.

Level- green

Reward- 50 mage stones "

Six months was way too long. Although Aaron was a little interested in what kind of experiments they were. But he chose the second mission.

"Subdue a bandit group with a possible Indigo level mage.

Last known area- In the forests east to the Blossom city.

Level- green

Reward- 50 mage stones "

This was the only choice Aaron could make. A renegade mage who turned into a bandit. He didn't know what kind of mage he would be facing, but he should be able to subdue a Indigo level mage, right?

Theoritically he was the same level as him. But Aaron's level wasnt the real show of his strength.

If he could bear through the desolate area, he should be able to subdue a violet level mage.

He took the mission to the reception.

"Although you are a green level mage, your combat badge is only at Indigo level. Do you want to take a mission where your opponent is at the same level as you? " The receptionist asked.

She knew Aaron was a new mage in the association. She thought he was just striving too hard in order to demonstrate his strength. Or may be he felt he was wrongly judged for his levels. There were a lot of those type of mages.

The end result for them was usually bad.

"Yes. I am sure of the mission. Can you please hand me the details?" Aaron asked
