66 Chapter 66

Seven days would take Aaron hardly half a day to travel. But interestingly enough, he was asked not to open a gate directly in blossom city and pass the gate showing the letter he had received.

Turns out, there is a detection system installed near the gates. If any one opened a gate to directly enter the city, the mages stationed there would be alerted about it. He would be chased after if he tried to escape.

The security around this Blossom city sounded top notch. And detection systems? He hadn't seen anyone create an artifact like that on the other side. The artifacts he had seen were pretty simple in nature like the lights. Most complicated artifact had to be the spatial ring. But it seems this side was much more advanced with artifacts.

Aaron decided to leave early. After breakfast he donned his robes and left with the help of a gate.

Scaring a few farmers when he appeared suddenly out of nowhere and asking some passerbys for direction Aaron was finally able to reach Blossom city in the afternoon.

The distance he could cover in a day had improved a lot in the desolate area. He could open gates faster and over a much longer distance now.

First thing he saw was a line of people leading to the city. It seemed they were being checked for Identity papers.

Aaron heeded the advice he was given before and didn't use a gate to skip the line. He joined the queue at the end. He knew it would take him some time to reach the front of the queue.

But as soon as he joined the queue, the people in front of him made way for him. They didn't say anything and just parted to let him move forward.

The mage robe had its effects after all. No one dared bar his way.

As he reached the city gates. The guards placed there welcomed him.

"Welcome Sir mage to the Blossom city. As a mage you don't need to wait in queue and could have directly moved in front. " The guard was courteous but was a bit suspicious. No mage in his right mind would queue up.

"Sorry. I am new in this area. I am from the south. Here is the letter of reference I got. " Aaron tried to pull out the excuse of being from a different place.

The guard knew something was fishy and had a look at the letter. The letter was genuine enough. Even though he had his suspicion towards Aaron's behaviour, he let it go. You never interfered in the business of a mage. That was the motto he lived by.

Aaron was successful enough to pass the gates. He gave a sigh of relief. He knew he blundered with joining the queue like a normal person. He needed to learn how the mages acted here.

But as he took a look around Blossom city, Aaron was really impressed with what he saw. This was a city which looked much more prosperous than he had seen on the other side. The architecture was much more vivid and adventurous than the bland ones he was so used to seeing. There were beautiful buildings on the other side as well, they were very limited in numbers though.

Here though was an exhibition. It almost had the sense of a modernity to it if he compared it to earth.

The thing which shocked Aaron the most were the floating vehicles! He saw a couple of floating vehicles move on the street. He knew it was some sort of telekinesis spell, but he had never seen such an application of that spell. Normal telekinesis spell wouldn't support that amount of weight. In a sense that system of transportation was much more advanced than on earth! Earth had hover crafts for water and Maglev trains. But nothing like the vehicles he saw which moved a foot above the ground. No need to worry about the potholes anymore.

Aaron noticed insignia inscribed on them. Must belong to someone important he thought.

Aaron stopped and asked someone for the direction to the mage association. A scared fellow just pointed Aaron towards a direction and left.

One thing Aaron noticed was that the common people of this world were much more scared of mages than the other side.

Most people gave him wide berth when they saw him.

Aaron felt very weird for the way he was being avoided by everyone. He decided walking more would just make it more miserable. He gave up on sightseeing the city and opened a gate to rush to his destination.

The mage Association building here was much better than the one he saw at Green Herbs city. It was a big building surrounded with a boundary and had large metal gates at the front which was manned by several guards.

Aaron approached the gates and quicky ushered in once his letter was verified.

He headed towards the reception.

"So, you are a space mage who had lost his memory. You seem to only remember your name? That does put us in a bind. "

"Head right down the corridor and turn left. The third door on the right lies the office of Mr. Park. Go see him. He will check the system for you. "

Check the system? What system? That word had left Aaron in a daze. What were they going to check? He had just arrived here on this side. And where were they going to check it?

Aaron followed the direction of the receptionist.

He soon found his destination.

He knocked and entered the office.

"Mr. Park? I am Aaron. I was directed to come see you. "

"Please sit. What brings you to me?"

Mr. Park was actually a relatively young man. He looked to be in his prime and was good looking enough. He was wearing a purple robe which looked much more expensive than the one Aaron was wearing. He had clean face and a square jaw.

Aaron thought about how he looked like himself. He was wearing a cheap robe with a sword fastened on his hip. He surely didn't leave a good first impression.

Aaron presented the letter to him and explained his situation.

"So. You don't remember who you were affliated to. The ones at Green herbs city made the right decision. If they had provided you identity under the mage association and you later turned out to be a member of the mage family, it would be a disastrous for us."

"The best thing right now would be to check your records on the mage system. It would clear all doubts. "

With that Park pulled out a weird looking metal tablet of sort. It had fine lines inlaid upon it which could be best described as 'circuits'. There were a few small pieces of mage stones attached to these circuits. The whole artifact left Aaron wondering what it was.

"You said your name was Aaron Rosil? Let me check your details. "

"Search for Aaron Rosil." Park spoke to the tablet.

Was it what Aaron thought it was? A communication device? He was eyeing the tablet with a feverish gaze. This was unbelievable to Aaron. How is this possible?

Was it scientific application of magic?

As Aaron stared at the tablet and ran his speculations. The tablet in Park's hand sounded out.

"Aaron Rosil. No records found."

"Now that is interesting. " Said Park looking at Aaron.
