57 Chapter 57

One thing Aaron had noticed about the creatures were that they were very aggressive. The moment they saw any one, they started attacking it.

Aaron remembered this kind of lizard to have an ability to breath fire. He had to make sure not to let it too close. It was slow to move and that could be an advantage Aaron can use.

Aaron had enough time to escape with a gate. But somehow he was tempted to fight and test himself. He hoped he hadnt wasted all this time for nothing.

He planned to stabbing it directly with his atomic blade. His sword floated before him and he flicked it at the Lizard. The sword struck the lizard at its side.

Aaron expected the sword to penetrate straight through the lizard and instantly kill it.

The result wasnt what Aaron expected. The sword did cut, but it only went in about a couple of inches and then fell off the body.

What amazing defense!! Although the blade wasnt exactly atomic blade. But it was sharp enough to cut steel. Such blade only left a small cut? Aaron was shocked seeing this. His confidence also took a hit.

The lizard growled out loudly after being struck by the sword. It probably found it annoying more than dangerous.

Aaron decided he would work on getting a pure atomic blade after this. He had stopped improving the edge because of the success he had gained before. Who knew it would be so useless against this lizard.

The lizard moved towards Aaron. Although Thunder king called it slow, it was slower in comparison to other beasts. In comparison to a human, it was fast.

Still, Aaron had enough time to open a gate in front of the Lizard. The lizard in its momentum stepped into the gate.

The exit of the gate was atleast 50 metres high. That was the highest Aaron could do within such a short time period. The lizard abruptly found itself in the air and fell down fast.

It fell flat on the ground. Aaron was sure it would be dead. If not dead, it would be seriously injured.

But he was dissapointed again. The lizard looked like it was in some pain. But it soon got up and charged towards Aaron again.

Aaron once again opened the gate in front of the lizard. But the lizard was smart enough to avoid it this time. It stopped in front of the gate and changed its direction of attack.

The lizard once again surprised Aaron. This time with its intellegence. It knew the gate was dangerous and avoided it completely. The intelligence level of these creatures was high. No wonder they were dangerous.

Looking at how easily Thunder king had elimated the beasts before Aaron had thought of them as weak.

But he had forgotten the fact that Thunder king was one of the most strongest mage ever and he had vast experience fighting such creatures.

Aaron tried a different approach this time. He used his gates and directly attacked the eyes the lizard with his sword.

This was the first time he caused severe enough damage to the fire lizard. He successfully pierced through the left eye and the sword went in several inches.

The lizard howled in pain. It sounded hurt and angry.

Aaron soon found another thing he had overlooked. He lacked another weapon. The sword was stuck in eye of the lizard. Aaron tried, but he was unable to pull it out with his telekinesis.

Aaron was wondering whether it was time to exit. He felt dissapointed for not being able to kill the fire lizard.

The Lizard gave a loud cry and started a mad rush at Aaron. It was blinded in rage as it moved towards Aaron. Aaron gave it one last try. He concentrated and opened a gate.

This time the gate he opened had its exit only a couple of steps away. The main difference between this and the ones before this one was how it was placed.

Instead of the entry facing the fire lizard, the edge of gate faced the fire lizard this time.

The edge was difficult to spot during the night as well as the blinding pain had caused the forced the lizard into losing its cautiousness.

The lizard ran into the edge and the result this time was what Aaron had only seen in animes.

The lizard was cut into two parts right from the middle. Blood came gushing out of the two parts giving a gruesome look to the whole scene.

Even Aaron had a nauseating feeling seeing the scene in front of him.

Little did he knew that if the other mages at the border saw how easily he had killed the beast, they would be shocked. The lizard had good enough defense that it could withstand basic elemental effects easily. It needed to be bombarded continously to be killed. Although a space mage could kill it using a gate, but it was smart enough to avoid it most times. Only because it was blinded by the atomic blade did Aaron succeed. As for normal weapons, they would fail to even pierce its eyes.

After Aaron felt a little better, he went to retrieve his sword. He found that he had cut off the tip of his sword as well.

This sword had accompanied him for a long time and now it was ruined.

He gave a sigh. He also closed the other gate he had made incase the attempt wasnt a success and he had to leave.

He felt mentally drained after the whole ordeal. He decided to camp a little distance away from the body of the beast.

He didnt want to work, but he knew he had to. He needed more weapons. He searched the space ring provided by the Thunder king. He found a few swords and some short daggers and some mage stones.

He took them out and started to put a better atomic edge on the weapons.

He finished having three swords and 7 daggers with him. As, how to carry them with him. He would decide that tomorrow.

Now was the time to rest.

As he got up in the morning, he felt better. After having taken care of his daily needs, he got ready to move again.

He found his second enemy only after jumping through the second gate today.

It was a scorpion the size of a small cow which was standing at only a 10 metres away from where Aaron exited. Another lesson for him, check where he was exiting before coming out of the gate.

It was the first time Aaron had come across such a creature though. As it spotted Aaron, it rushed towards Aaron at a much faster pace than the fire lizard. Aaron quicky jumped out of its way and let it pass.

The scorpion stopped after going a little further away from Aaron and turned to attack Aaron again.

It seemed to pump some sort of fluid in its tail. From its sting came out a blob of liquid which rushed towards Aaron.

Aaron didnt have a good feleling about it and he dived to escape it. The blob fell on to the ground. It started corroding the rocks it fell upon. It was acid. Strong enough to melt rocks.

Aaron took a gulp. He would be dead if it landed on him.

The scorpion had already started to move seeing its attack fail.

Aaron pulled out a dagger to test the defense of the scorpion. He couldnt afford to loose another sword. He only had three intact swords with him.

He used his telekinesis and a gate to attack the scorpion in the same way he attacked the eyes of the lizard.

The scorpion was fast with its reflexes. Even at such a small distance it was able to move a little and avoid the dagger from piercing its eyes. It couldn't avoid it altogether. It stuck in the side of its head.

Aaron could see the scorpion avoid his attack and the blade sink at the side of its head. It didnt seem to have much effect on the scorpion though. It still moved towards Aaron at the same pace as before.

Although Aaron was able to move out of its way, it was much faster this time then what Aaron had expected it to be. He was still scratched by one of its claws as it rushed past. He had long scratch on his arms with a little blood coming out of it.

It was only a couple of days in the desolate area and he was already injured despite being a space mage.

He quickly got up and turned around to face the scorpion to notice that it was already rushing towards him.

Aaron quicky took out a sword and directly used telekinesis on it to attack. He didnt have the time to use a gate.

The scorpion was fast as well. It quickly used it claws to protect its head.

The sword pierced a claw, but not completely.

The whole exchange did help Aaron avoid the attack.

Aaron pulled the sword and the dagger both towards him and was ready to attack again.

The scorpion seemed to test its claws to make sure it was working fine.

After a few rounds of avoiding the scorpion and attacking with the swords amd daggers, Aaron was huffing. The scorpion didnt allow him the time to open a gate. It was too fast. Aaron had stabbed it multiple times, but failed to hit any vital points. Aaron knew he would be in trouble if he didnt do anything soon.

As the scorpion rushed again, Aaron used a dagger to stag at its face, as the usual the scorpion moved its claws to defend its head. The dagger stabbed the claw. At the same time the sword also hit the point Aaron was aiming for. It was one of the legs of the scorpion. Instead of a stab, Aaron gave a slash. The leg was completely cut off this time around. The scorpion lost its momentum and fell down.

Seizing the moment Aaron quicky stabbed the head of the scorpion with the sword again, killing it finally.

Aaron stood there panting, he was never pushed so hard in his life.

All the training he ever had wasnt as taxing as a real battle. He had a lot to learn and he had a feeling that this desolate area was going to teach it to him.
