42 Chapter 42

As Aaron had promised Ron, he was back to meet him on his day off.

It was a regular scene now. Him visiting Ron or Ron coming to meet him. Turned out Ron didnt have anyone to talk to either. He spent his childhood in the academy. His friends had been from there. They were all at different places now.

One day Aaron had joined Ron for breakfast at Polaris city. He once again welcomed the good feeling he had of talking with someone similar to a friend. He found how the mage families worked and had a competition going on amongst them. The mage association had the greater influence, but the families had their influence on the association as well with their people working for the association. The whole situation was quite complicated. Politics never interested Aaron anyways.

As they were sitting there talking, Ron had a summon from his father.

"I will be back soon. Be comfortable. "

"Take your time. I am good."

Aaron was thinking about his old friends. He really had a blast with them back on earth. He wondered what they were doing now. As he sat reminiscing about the past, Ron came back.

"We have to cancel our plans for today. Something came up at the mage Association. They have called for help and my father is sending me to gain some experience. "

"Okay, let's leave. I will go till the association with you and then leave for pine city. "

As they reached the Association they could already see few carriages lined up. Ron recognized the insignia on them and found it to be from the two other mage families of the city.

He saw a senior official of the mage association already talking with two people.

Aaron recognized one of them. He was the man from the Wilson family.

As Ron approached them, Aaron tagged alone.

The official saw that Ron had come. He didnt mind Aaron. He thought Aaron was his retinue with the sword he was carrying.

"Since we are all here, let me tell you the situation. We have a situation of Rogue mages. You know of the 'White Brothers'?"

"Yes. 5 brothers. Coincidentally all of them mages. Not very strong. But they are known to cause a little trouble now and then. " Said the girl from the third family.

She looked to be around 18 years old. Not too beautiful, but pretty enough. He was told she was named Elizabeth de'cruz.

"Well it was little before. Its a big one now. They took hostage a whole village 50 km from here. They sent a resident as a messenger to us and said they had demands. If we dont listen to them, they are going to kill everyone. "

"So you want to negotiate?" asked Adam.

"You know very well that the mage association dont negotiate."

"Since this is the day off, most of our mages are on leave. Its difficult to find them since most leave with portals. It will take too much time to locate them. Time is of the essence, so we have asked for help from the three mage families. The heads had agreed and sent you three as representatives. You wont be alone. We have 3 other mages from the association going with you. They will be incharge while you form the support. We were also told they have some common people supporting them too."

"Now, do you have any objections? "

No one replied.

"What do we do if we cant capture the rogues or they put up too much resistance?" Ron asked this.

"Try to capture them. But if they resist, you are allowed to use magic to kill or injure severely. Try and not kill the humans though. Scare them enough and they will run away. "

"We should take the carriage of Wilson family. We got the best of horses. We will make the best time with it." Adam said.

"Okay, we will do it. We thank the Wilson family."

Adam gave a smirk to Ron and Katrina.

The three mages from the association came to meet them. They asked about

the elements of their magic.

Ron was a fire mage. Adam was a wind mage while Elizabeth was a water mage.

As they were planning the better carriage from the Wilson family had arrived.

Aaron was quite the whole time. He was thinking what he should do? It was not a matter which concerned him. He was not a hero. Plus he didn't knew if he could help with a fight against the mages. He was scared after thinking what happened last time. What if he got cold feet again?

But he thought back about his training as well. What did he train for? Why did he learn a new spell for? It was for moments like this. So what if he couldnt fight yet. He will have to begin somewhere. He could still help even if he didnt fight. Even though he wasnt completely sure of his decision, he decided to stick with it.

"If you are trying to quicken the journey, maybe I can help?" Aaron said.

"And who are you, how do you plan on doing it?" asked the official.

"I am Aaron Rosil. I work for the mage association at Pine city branch. "

"I am a space mage and I can create gates for the team to travel. "

"Arent you that boy who fixes space rings? What makes you think you could help us? What if you make an incorrect gate. Maybe you can make one correctly, but its 50 kilometres. What if you are tired after taking us half way? Wouldnt more time be wasted that way instead if saving?" Adam said.

He wasnt wrong. A 16 year old wouldnt be strong enough to create gates for such long distance.

"I can assure you I could do it. I have already done so previously. " The distance between his home and Modena city was much larger. We was still able to do it. Ofcourse he needed rests in between and he had a severe headache afterwards, he had been able to do it.

"I still dont believe you." said Adam.

"I will be the guarantor for him. If he said he could do it, he can. He could already create a space gate for a person when he was 15 year old." Said Ron.

When people heard that he made space gates for people at 15 year old, they were left with their surprised. The more knowledgable amongst them knew it was a rare case.

"Two kids saying the same thing doesnt makes it right. I wonder if he can even make a gate correctly." Said Adam.

The official raised his hands signalling Adam to be quiet.

"You are sure you can do this?" he asked Aaron.

"Yes Sir. "

"Okay. We will do it this way then. Aaron here will take you guys towards the village. Just in case he cant, we will send the carriage on its way as well. If by some chance he gets tired in between, the carriage could pick you up. You wont be losing any time that way. "

This was really the best solution. If Aaron was successful, very good. If he wasnt, no harm done.

Only doubt left was if he can make a spatial gate for people to pass. Best way to know was a demonstration.

Aaron did as he was asked and that settled the matter.

And now they were seven.

"You will be going in the capacity of support only. Dont go overboard. You will have to listen to the mage association team once you reach there. Am I clear?" the official asked.

"Yes. I will do as I am told. "

"Good luck to you all then. "
