41 Chapter 41

Aaron remembered Ron was from Polaris city. He had also asked him to come visit. He never really thought of visiting him. But he was in the city afterall and it wasnt that he had anything planned for the rest of the day.

He first went to the mage association of Polaris city. He asked them to pass a message to Pine city about the work being a success. And asked to call upon him if there was anything else.

He also asked about the location of the Frost family.

He learned that it wasnt far and decided to walk there.

When he reached the gates to the frost family house he found that the gate here was manned by guards as well. The guards asked their customary question.

"I am mage Aaron Rosil. I am looking for mage Ronald Frost."

"Do you have an appointment? "

"No I dont. But if you will please let him know that I am here. "

"Wait a little. We will make the confirmation."

The guards were thorough. They saw the sword at Aaron's waist. But Aaron called himself a mage. When did mages carried a swore. They were polite though. They knew they would be punished severely if anyone found out they were rude with a mage.

"Aaron! I never truly expected you to be here. What a pleasant surprise." Ron himself had come to greet Aaron at the gate.

Even the guards were astonished at this. The mage masters of the family rarely came out to greet someone themselves. They only did so if someone of a truly high status came. But young master Ronald had come himself for this young looking boy.

"Ron. Its good to see you too. Hope I am not a bother. "

"Nonsense. You arent. Come in with me. Lets sit down and catch up."

He led Aaron indoors. This was a place at the same level of decoration as the Wilson's.

After they were seated and refreshments were handed out.

"So, how have you been Aaron? What brings you to our Polaris city."

"I have been good. I have been working for the mage association at Pine city for close to two months now. "

"You have been working at Pine city and you found the time today for a visit?"

"Its not like that. I have been trying to settle in. I took a year off before joining. Its a totally new job for me. And my boss always seems to be pissed at me. "

"You took a year off. I see. Who is your boss? Maybe I have heard of him. "

"He is someone called Abram Wilson. "

"Abram? That old guy from the Wilson family? Haha. You got a bad one indeed. He hates every moving thing. He has no room for growth and had been stuck at his position for a long while. But he is harmless. He might yell and mumble a few bad words, but he wont do anything drastic. He knows he hadnt got too much backing of the family due to his lack of strength and he wont get anything out of it anyway. You aren't affliated to any other family. "

"What brings you here though. Did you come here to meet me specially?"

Ron knew he wasnt close to Aaron. He was glad he came, but he knew he didnt warrant a visit by himself.

"Its the Wilson family again. They had issues with a space ring. I came to sort that out. "

"Wilson family of Polaris city? They are about as influencial as us around here. Who did you meet there?"

"I dont know his name. He didnt tell me. He looked a little on the arrogant side though with his tone. "

"Looks like you met Adam. He is the one like that. He passed out from the 4 star academy a few years back. So he always thinks he his better than everyone."

"I am still happy you remembered me and came to visit. I know we started on the wrong foot." Ron laughed embarrassingly.

"I told you it was alright. I never took it too mind. How have you been? Anyword from June?"

"June is good. She was here a few days ago. But have left for her home now. Things have been good between us." Ron gave a smile at that.

"As for me, I have been good. I work for my family. We have a mine which produces some mage stones. "

"Wow. You have it nice. "

"Its good. Although a large part of it have to be supplied to the mage association. We are left with only a few. "

"Mage association takes the stones for free and sells it to mages for money?"

"Its not all as you see it. The mage association do a lot of things. They maintain the portals. The mage stone consumption is a lot on that front itself. They also give scholarships away. Even the academies are built by them. They are involved in a lot of activities. They also send a significant amount to the border. "

He said the last part in a hushed tone.

Now that part made Aaron curious.

"What is the border exactly? I have read about it in books. But it never explained what it is. "

"Keep it quiet. You are not allowed to talk about it presence of common people or even all the mages. I myself found about it recently. As to what it is, I cant tell you. Dont be offended, but you are a production class mage. Border is mostly about combat class. "

Ron didnt answer what it was even after Aaron asked a couple of times about it.

Ron did take Aaron to meet his father. He knew his father would be happy to meet him.

"Father, this is Aaron Rosil. He is a space mage and works for the Pine city mage Association. We studied at the academy together."

"Aaron, this is my father. He is the head of the family for our Polaris city branch of the Frost family."

"Hello Sir. Good to meet you. "

"Good to meet you too young man. You started at the Pine city branch? You must be the best out of your batch. They only scout the most talented. And a talented true mage is a bonus." He complemented Aaron.

Aaron knew this was him trying to make a good relation with Aaron. Aaron replied with politeness. There was no harm in that. He wouldnt mind a little backing himself.

"I hope maybe we could work together in the future sometime."

"Sure Sir, if we have the opportunity."

"You can go and enjoy your time with Ronald. Call upon us if you need any help."

Aaron sat with Ron and talked a little about the academy life. Ron told him a lot of stories about the academy which Aaron found he had no clue of happening.

He realised maybe he was too socially inactive during the academy period. He decided to remedy that.

He always felt he was 22. The age he had died at. When he was kid in this world, he still thought himself to be 22 so he stayed away from other kids since he thought of them as kids. But talking with Ron now, he didn't get that feeling. Maybe because of the higher intellegence level of mages or maybe he truly lacked good company. But he had a great time with Ron. He dediced to do it more often.

He took his leave from Ron. He had to get back to work as well. It was already past lunch.

"Be sure to be here on your day off. I will show you some good places. "

"Sure thing. I will be here. Have a good day. "

As Aaron got back at office, Abram gave him an earful for being late. But Aaron didn't mind it. It was worth it this time.
