That night at the graduation party, Aaron could see people having a good time. He could see some of the teachers laughing with the students as well. They were all mages now.

Aaron too talked and mixed in with everyone today.

"Hey Aaron. " Aaron heard his name being called. He turned around and saw Ron caling him. He was walking towards Aaron with June on his arms.

"You know I am embarrassed about how I walked upto you that time and challenged you. I was blinded by this beautiful girl you might say."

June elbowed him slightly.

"What I am trying to say is that I am sorry about that whole thing. I hope you could forget and forgive."

"Its alright Ron. I understand. All is forgiven. " When Ron apologized and extended a hand of friendship, Aaron didnt mind it. He never placed the whole incident in his mind.

"I am Ronald Frost, from the Frost mage family. I formally invite you to visit us. We are from the Polaris city of Pine province. If you are there, you can call upon me any time. I will be moving there. My family would very much like having a space mage over. " Ron grinned at this. He knew his family would indeed like to build up relationship with a space mage as talented as Aaron.

"I will keep it in mind if I ever go there. " Replied Aaron.

As he was talking with Ron and June, a neatly dressed man approached him.

"Aaron Rosil? I am from the mage association. Would you mind if we talk?"

Hearing him Ron and June left.

"Yes, I am Aaron."

"Good. I am Elon. I have come to you to make an offer on behalf of the mage association."

"You will start working at the mage association branch at Pine city. You will be responsible to maintain the space ring lockers there. We have learned that you could already do it. You can also take other commissions in your spare time. But Association's work comes first. Also you need to pay a part of your other income to the association too. The association also may ask you to do other things for them. You would be paid extra for that. You may also decline the extra work. I will hand you a copy of the agreement. It will cover the rest of the details. Also your pay would be 2000 gold coins and 20 pieces of mage stones every year. "

"You dont need to reply now. You have till the morning to reply. I will be here in the morning. "

He left without even letting Aaron speak.

"So, the association made you an offer?"

Aaron saw Marcus coming towards him.

"Yes. He did. But the thing is that I have no clue whether it is a good one or bad. I dont know if the money they have offered is more or less." Aaron replied honestly.

"Hahahaha." Laughed Marcus.

"Our boy genius is stumped by such a simple thing. But its not your fault. You have been under the care of the academy. Scholarship students usually have this problem since you have never been truly outside. Tell me the offer, I will give you the insights. "

It was true Aaron hadnt left the city since he entered the academy. It wasnt that the academy didnt have holidays. It did. 2 months every year. But it would take Aaron almost 4 months if he could go home. Plus he didnt have the money required to do so even if he wished.

A lot of students stayed back during the vacations. They were free to do what they wanted. Aaron kind of followed his daily routine without the part with Marcus. When he felt like, he visited the city. He had to wear the uniform to the city though. It was sort of a protective talisman. The uniform meant that he was a student of the mage academy. Even the worse of ruffians knew to stay away from it. You could trick them for money, academy treated it as life lessons. But you couldnt harm them by any means. No one wanted to mess with the academy. There were people who tried to kidnap a student for ransom. The mage association left such an example behind, that no one dared again.

Aaron told about the offer to Marcus.

"Truth be told, they have offered you amost 1.5 times more than what they usually do. Thats because of your potential and the results you have shown so far. The money is more if you work for a family, but you would be totally under their control. The work they allocated to you is basic in nature. You still havent peaked in your magic power. Its still like training for you. You got desk work. You will have free time and can do your own research if you want. Since there isnt anyone backing you, its the best option. I also represent the academy to ask you to become an assistant teacher under me. But I think it will be the waste of your talent. I know you already surpass me in calculations and magic power. No, dont try to deny. I understand you better than you think. But its good you are trying to not gather too much of limelight. What you have shown so far is good enough. Its a very complicated world out there. Mage politics can be gruesome. "

Aaron felt happy over the concern his teacher showed him. He was also sad at leaving him. He had been with Marcus for more than 6 years. Marcus has been nothing but good. He had been an important figure in his life. Aaron was going to miss this teacher of his who made lame jokes as a habit.
