29 Chapter 29

On the day of his graduation. Aaron was dressed in his usual academy uniform. This time he was also wearing a jacket. He looked good with his boyish looks good enough physique. For the graduatiom ceremony each student had to perform the spell asked by their teacher in one go. Out of 43 students in his batch, only 29 managed to get this far. 4 were expelled because of disciplinary issues. While 10 failed in atleast one of the years of their academy life.

The students and teachers were sitting in opposite rows. And in the middle of the rows was a platform. Each students name would be called upon. Their teacher would ask them to perform a spell. They would perform the spell. If they did it successfully, they would get their own mage association badge. A small circular coin sized badge with a trident with lightning falling on it symbol. It was white badge with black symbol. The most basic of badges. The badges were a symbol of them being official mages. Even the common people of the world knew it.

This was also the first time Aaron saw the Headmaster of the Academy. She was called Crystal D'treo. She was an old lady with more grey in her hair than black. She gave a lengthy speech which made most students sleepy. Once she was done, the students were called one by one. The first student was Ron. He was a fire mage. He was asked to conjure a magma field. He did it at one try. Earning the badge and becoming the first graduate of their batch. He had a satisfying smirk on his face. He looked back at June. Who gave him a sweet smile. The two of them were together now.

One by one students performed under the applause of the audience. None had failed so far.

After the 15th student, it was Aarons turn. He along with one more were the only true mages of their batch. The other was a life mage. A healer of sorts. But healing wasnt the only thing they were proficient in.

Once Aaron was on stage, his teacher Marcus asked him to perform a spatial transmission for him. Marcus too stepped on the platform as the subject of the transmission. At this the headmaster couldn't control herself and said "Marcus, are you sure you want to be the test subject? We could get someone else. If something untoward were to happen, it would be disastarous for us losing you. And we both know you are being a little strict asking a mage at his age for complete transmission. "

"I am very confident in my student Head master Crystal. Also the test is supposed to challenge the students and showcase their best ability. And this is his ability."

Crystal was a little surprised hearing that. A 15 year old boy doing space transmission. Thats very rare. Thats almost a grandmaster level spell. She was looking forward to the display but was eqally worried for Marcus. True mages were hard to come by.

"You can begin Aaron. Take your time and be careful. " Marcus told Aaron.

Aaron took a deep breath. He started calculating. He planned to create a gate for a few spaces of transmission. Nothing too fancy. He finished it in about 5 seconds. But waited a few seconds more before he channeled his power. The extra seconds were to not shock Marcus or others beyong belief. He had seen Marcus do transmissions. He took 7-8 seconds. He decided to be slower than him by a couple of seconds. It would still be dazzling, but not beyong belief.

He put his magic power into use. Slowly a tear, pitch black in colour appeared in front of Marcus. It was big enough for marcus to easily step in.

Marcus looed towards Aaron. Aaron gave a firm nod.

"Still nodding. It wouldnt be much to ask you to say something. " Marcus mumbled. But he put a confident front while he stepped into the tear.

As he stepped in, he almost simultaneously exited a few steps further. He turned back towards Aaron and gave in a thumbs up. Everyone started with their applause. Aaron soaked it in. It wasnt a bad feeling, being applauded.

He soon received his badge from Crystal.

Slowly everyone had their turn. It was a good result for the academy. The whole 29 of them were successful.

Once everyone was done, Crystal once again stood up. Looked like she had something to say.

"Congratulations everyone. It was fabulous display of your mage skills. It makes us proud to see you performing so well. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do in the future. I would ask everyone to come to the graduation party arranged in the evening. The mage association representatives would be coming as well. Infact we had one watching your performances. You might be approached by them during the celebration. Listen carefully to what they are offering you. Also, some of you might be approached by our own faculty to be a part of our academy. So if you are interested, please consider. Alright, you may leave now. Enjoy your last remaining time here. "

The mage academy provided placements for the graduates. Aaron was thinking about what offers he might get.
