105 Chapter 105

The boss of the Mercenary association was on a leave. Cefe would be the one seeing the guests in his place.

Such considerations were shown to Aaron and Rogan because of their positions as a mage. For others, they couldnt perhaps meet someone so high up in the chain.

"Rogan told us a little about what you need. But we would like to hear from you directly. "

"Also please try to be detailed in what you seek to do. That will help us provide the best service. " Said Cefe.

" Well, I don't need anything special really. I am conducting a small experiment regarding a spell. "

"I would also need your confidentiality as to not leak the spell. " Aaron mentioned his condition as well. This spell might be really good and he didn't want the information to leak out.

"Do not worry about that. We understand confidentiality. Nothing you speak of or do will be leaked unless you breach the contract first. We put high values in trust." Replied Cefe nonchalantly like it was a normal working procedure.

"I am a space mage, so I can control a little of the space around things and people. I have a come up with a spell to sort of restrict movements."

"I have tried it on animals, it does what it does without harming them. I want to try on similar experiments on humans if possible. "

"I don't think the experiments should be dangerous to them. But still there is always a sense of uncertainty with these things. "

"Rogan have told me that your associates have some sort of way to resist the spells of mages, maybe that would increase the safety of your associates. "

Cefe carefully considered what Aaron said.

"Okay. As far as we know about mages, if the spell is safe for animals, it shouldnt be that harmful for us either. "

"We do have a condition though. The moment we deem that the spell might seriously injure us, we will end the contract without any reimbursement. "

" Agreed. " It was something Aaron agreed upon easily. He didn't want to hurt anyone either.

"Now for the price. You know although our Association is famous, but we only have a few hundred associates with us. The number of people who could successfully become what we call warriors is pitifully few. Also unlike mages who grow stronger as they grow older, our strength weakens with age. "

" You could understand how rare we actually are. So, losing someone in an accident regarding a experiment is quite a loss. Of course you promise minimal danger, but it is still there. You may end up killing someone directly without being able to stop. As result the cost would be a little high. I hope you understand. "

Aaron nodded. The person sitting opposite to him wasn't just a warrior. He was a shrewd businessman as well. He put forward how rare they were and how dangerous it could be. He was trying to jack up the prices.

Aaron though didn't mind this. He had a lot of money. And perhaps he wouldn't have to anything at the end if things go his way.

"I think a sum of 200 mage stones should be sufficient. You could have one of our man for 2 months. I know the price seems a little high, but we will make sure we lend you a strong experienced candidate."

The price might be little high, but Aaron knew no matter how good a businessman Cefe was, he won't openly cheat a mage. Specially since they already had a working relationship with Rogan.

"Okay. Let's final out the contract. " Said Aaron agreeing to the price.

They soon finished with smaller details and had a contract written out and signed.

Aaron waited till the the moment they were about to leave as if he had just remembered something then.

"I heard from Rogan that you guys are interested in magical weapons. " Aaron questioned Cefe.

"Yes we are. Mage Rogan is one of our suppliers. Why do you ask?"

"Oh. I just happened to know a bit about weapons. I wonder if you would be interested in something I have recently made. "

Cefe was a little surprised to see someone so young saying they have made something and trying to sell it. Just because he was courteous didn't mean the other party could take advantage of him by selling him worthless products.

But he was a mage and Cefe had made a really good deal with him. He couldnt directly ignore him so made sure to make his point.

"We have very high standards for weapons. We know the mages might not necessarily appreciate weapons, but we do. We deal with a few selected people such as Mr. Rogan who provides us with high quality weapons. If your artifacts are as good as Mr. Rogan's, we could perhaps be interested in it. "

There, he said he wanted something similar to Rogan's. Now those two will need to decide if it as good. Knowing Rogan, if someone with inferior goods claim that theirs were same as Rogan's, Rogan would never agree. And if in case Rogan agreed, it would mean they could have another good supplier. It was a win win situation for him.

Aaron saw what Cefe was trying to do. He acknowledged that Cefe was really skilled. He made his stance clear without offending Aaron or Rogan.

Aaron smiled and turned to Rogan.

"Mr. Rogan, what do you think. Are my artifacts as good as yours?"

Rogan who have been silent for sometime saw what Aaron was at.

"I think they should be about par. " Said Rogan.

Cefe was stunned seeing this. He never expected Rogan to agree so easily with the kid. He was sure about Rogan's character so he knew Rogan wasn't playing a trick. But that meant the boy was really good.

He came back to himself soon enough. It was good news. Warriors could never have enough weapons. The warrior aura was also a bane for magical weapons. They lasted for a while before they got destroyed. It was one of the reasons the price of their services were so high.

"If you still have some confusion, what about a demo? You buy it if you like it?" said Aaron still having that hint of a smile.

"Sure." Said Cefe. He infact looked forward to the boy's claims.

Cefe was left standing with his mouth hanging. Just what was that? Didn't the boy knew not to shock a person like that? He wanted to worship that sword. That dull ordinary sword in the young mage's hand. No, calling it ordinary was blasphemy.

That sword of all swords. It cut clean anything Cefe could turn up with. That sword would mean everything to a warrior.

At last when finally he thought he could perhaps speak without making fun of himself, he cleared his throat.

"We will take as many as you can provide. As long as you demand a reasonable cost, we won't bargain. "

"Also we would provide you 2 guards for a lifetime. This decision should be made by the boss, but I am sure he would agree. "

Cefe was straight forward with his offer this time. None of the businessman nonsense. This showed he was a warrior at heart, no matter what role he took upon.

"I can't directly sell to you. I will need to do it through the mage Association. The price will be decided by the association as well. But it wouldn't be unreasonable as far as I can tell. "

"As for the numbers, I think I can probably supply you with 5 such weapons in a month. Not more than that. As to what weapons you might want, you can request. "

Cefe was happy that Aaron too was direct.

"Also you don't need to pay for that contract earlier. We will do it for free. Consider this as our good will towards you. " Cefe waived off the initial contract fee totally.

As Aaron left the Mercenary Association, he was a happy man. He got what he wanted without spending anything. And he got two guards as well.

With how everything was so tense, Aaron thought perhaps having a couple of skilled guards wasn't a bad idea at all.
