104 Chapter 104

Rogan had some good news for Aaron regards his search for test subjects. So, next morning after he got ready, first thing Aaron did was to visit Rogan at his home.

Rogan's home was quite modest, but importantly it was within the inner city. That showed he was compartively important than most people in the city. As to what was his mage rank, Aaron didn't have a clue. He thought it might be impolite to outright ask him about it.

When Aaron reached Rogan's place, he saw he had just gotten up.

He was embarrassed to come so early. He was rather excited about it and had come early.

"You are here early. No, it's not an issue. Come join me for me breakfast. The inn wouldn't have fed you anything good at this hour. "

Aaron indeed just a couple of slices of bread and a little cheese.

After having a good home cooked breakfast with Rogan, Aaron was rather satisfied. He had almost forgotten the taste of good home cooked meals.

Last time he had such meals was before he left home to be with Thunder king.

How had that fellow changed his life.

Coming out his thoughts, he enquired Rogan about the matter at hand.

"Yes. I have been able to find some people who could help you with what you want. They arent cheap, but I am sure you are more than able to pay them now." Rogan said the last part with a grin.

" Yes. I had a meeting with Azo yesterday. Let's say I am well to do now. " Said Aaron with a smile.

" Well to do? That's the word you choose? Well at least it sounds humbler than what most would say. "

" Anyways. What I was saying was that O have found some people, they aren't cheap but you will be satisfied with them for sure. Secondly, the chances that you hurt them will be less as well. "

This was indeed good news for Aaron. Although Aaron had wanted to test his spells on people, he had never wanted to hurt them. If he accidentally killed someone , that would leave a deep mark on his conscience. So, when Rogan said the chances that he could hurt them was minimal, it was a welcomed relief.

"Are they high leveled mages? " Aaron asked. They should be pretty high ranked if Rogan was so sure that he couldn't hurt them.

"Actually they aren't mages." Said Rogan.

"They aren't mages? How can they not be hurt then? What's going to protect them in case something goes wrong? "

"Hear me out first before you start off." Rogan took a deep breath signalling he was going into details.

" They aren't mages. But they aren't weak."

"They aren't exactly normal human beings. I don't know if you heard about them, they call themselves as warriors. "

Aaron do seem to have some sort of inkling towards that name. He remembered his father talking about something like that. Warriors, adventurers guild. Something like that. He didn't remember clearly though.

"They are totally opposite of what we as mages are taught. He believe every spell that we perform have some logic behind it. There is a principle a spell follows. It maybe that you could cast a spell without knowing how with a strong will, but there would be someone perhaps who could explain it. But warriors defies all that. "

" They have call it inner strength. They say the strength they posses comes from within them. They are much, much stronger than normal humans. Plus they could generate a kind of aura around them which provides protection to them and negates a little magic. Although they would be dead by the time they reach a strong mage, they are deadly against low level mages and could kill even high ranked mages if they reach close enough. Although they would need a high price to pay for it. "

" You know I like making weapons. They are my best customers. Having a strong weapon increases their strength."

" They are mercenaries. They take on all sorts of commissions. Mostly, they are hired by mages as escorts when they travel. "

" I have talked to them about your situtation and they have agreed to help you. I think you should have a talk directly to dictate the terms though. "

Aaron was totally fascinated hearing about these warriors. They sounded amazing. Surely not as amazing as a space mage, but amazing enough.

As Rogan had said earlier, they defied the logic of the mages. But Aaron was not sure about that. And it wouldn't be the first thing he saw which defied the logic of the mages. He had seen the magic beats, the desolate region and the barrier. All of these defied his logic by far.

Also, Aaron was realizing another fact. Magic did not only follow logic. Yes, logic made it easier to cast magic. But he had heard people say and read about mages who could cast with their will alone. So, if magic was so logic based, they shouldnt have been able to cast the spells they did because it for sure didn't follow the logic they held.

The logic of mages and the logic behind magic, they were two separate things. Aaron was pretty much sure about it. The desolate area had changed him a lot. It had affected his thought process by a lot.

He wondered what their true capabilities were though. He looked forward to meeting them.

He didnt have to wait long though. As soon as Rogan was ready, he took him to meet the Warriors.

They had their own office in Tulip city. The only reason they had it in the outer city was because of the substantially large area it occupied.

It was big, really big. The mercenaries were a close knit unit. They numbered in hundreds and everyone stayed together while they worked. Apart from the housing, they had big training grounds. It was a mini city in itself. To call it as an office was really weak. It did indeed had a building which was an actual office.

When Aaron first heard of them from Rogan, he had imagined them to be big burly men. But whom he met at the office was a young looking guy called Cefe. He looked in good shape, but surely not overflowing with muscles. He had a calm aura about him rather than the agressive and dominant aura which people might associate with a class such as them.

"Hello. I am Cefe. Big boss is on a holiday. I will be responsible in his absence. I have heard Rogan mention about your requirements. Let's talk. "
