The start

I checked the mail, bills, that's all I ever get. I'm so behind in debt that it's hard to give my daughter nice thing like a actually house not an apartment, but then I see something that doesn't look like a bill. What could it be? When I get into my apartment Sarah comes running towards me.

"Mommy your home!" says Sarah.

I pick her up and hold her tight, I hate leaving her here after school, but I've just lost my job a week ago and it's hard for a single mother to give everything their child wants/need.

"So how was you day? I want to hear all about it!" I say.

Sarah's face darked and her smile was gone, I know that something bad happened. When you're a parent you know that look when something terrible happened, the room was filled with silence for a minute or two.

"You want to go outside and play?" I finally asked.

"Can we?!" asked Sarah, her faced brighten. She loves the outdoors it oh how do I say this connects with her, she loves to play sports and drawing.

"Get your stuff ready" I say walking to my room to change.

I came out with long sleeved white crop top and ripped blue jeans. I went to the kitchen to get some fruit/veggie bowl, some water, peanut butter and jelly, bread, lunch meat, and energy bars. I put all of the food in separate containers. I then went to the laundry room and got a nice, soft, freash checker pattern blanket that has just been washed. I then see Sarah coming out of her room, her nice brown hair had been bushed and put up, in her arms were a soccer ball, basketball, papers, colored pencils, and a basket to put everything in.

"You need help?" I ask.

"No, I got it mom thank you though" she tells me.

I can obviously can see she needs help, so I put the blanket down on the marble kitchen counter.

"Here" I say taking stuff out of her hands.

"Thank you, mother" Sarah says

"Your welcome little one" I say rubbing Sarah's head.

I then take all the stuff and place it next to basket. In the basket there's a separator in the middle to separate things, I took it out put the blanket in, and put the separator back in. I then put the food on the left side, and put Sarah's art supplies in the right with my phone, shoes, books, and the letter I got.

"Do you want to ride bikes or no" I ask Sarah

"No cause the park is not that far from here" answers Sarah.

Then we're out of the door.
