22 The Man's Identity

By the time she arrived at the B&B, Gu Xin Ye was almost certain that Qin Zhan had a hidden motive. The only reason he was generous enough to treat her for a meal was that he needed someone to drive him back once he became too drunk!

As the thought crossed her mind, Gu Xin Ye could not help but mutter a few cursing words.

Gu Xin Ye recalled how Qin Zhan was almost hit by a car while they were heading back to the hotel car park and her expression turned darker. The man would still say that he was sober even after he was almost hit by a car a few times. In the end, it was her who had to face the driver's anger and listened to their curse.

If it was not because she still needed Qin Zhan to work for her, Gu Xin Ye thought that she would surely leave him at the roadside and let him fend for himself.

Now that she had helped him once, Gu Xin Ye could only hope that the man would treat her a little better at the noodle stall.

Just as Gu Xin Ye pulled over at a parking spot, she saw a figure walked out of the B&B and walked over to the car.

She turned off the headlight and alighted the vehicle. Her gaze met with Li Jun Xuan and Instantly the man halted on his steps and watched Gu Xin Ye with his eyes wide.

"You…" Li Jun Xuan paused and continued to eye Gu Xin Ye with a curious gaze. "What are you doing here? No." His gaze shifted to look at the vehicle properly. "This is Qin Zhan's car. Why did you come out of Qin Zhan's car? Where is Qin Zhan?"

Gu Xin Ye let out a sigh in frustration and pulled open the back door. "You go and see for yourself."

Li Jun Xuan narrowed his eyes before he walked over to check and was surprised to find that Qin Zhan was sleeping in the back seat. Subconsciously, he took a few steps back and pinched at his nose as the smell of alcohol was a little too much for him.

"How did he get this drunk?"

"How should I know?" Gu Xin Ye wanted nothing but to vent her frustration at this moment. "I met him on the street and he said he was going to treat me to dinner. Who knows that later, he would drink non-stop. He said that I should help and drive his car here and let you drive him to his residence. I did what he asked me to do." Gu Xin Ye tossed the car key to Li Jun Xuan. "You go and take him back. I'm tired."

Li Jun Xuan grabbed the car key effortlessly and frowned as he continued to look at the person who had passed out in the vehicle. A lot of thoughts came to his mind and he could not help but worry. When he noticed that Gu Xin Ye was about to leave, Li Jun Xuan quickly grabbed her hand to stop her.

Gu Xin Ye turned around. "What do you want?" She immediately swatted his hand away. "Speak properly."

"Qin Zhan…" Li Jun Xuan hesitated a little bit. "Do you know what happened to him?"

Seeing the worry on Li Jun Xuan's face, Gu Xin Ye changed her mind about leaving. "I don't know. I'm not sure."

"Do you know if he had met anyone when he was in the city?"

Gu Xin Ye thought about the man she had seen with Qin Zhan at the hotel. "I saw him talking to someone at one of the hotels on the west side of the town."

"Someone? A man?"

"Mmm…" Gu Xin Ye nodded.

"Can you describe him for me?"

"It was far and I couldn't see his face properly," Gu Xin Ye said. She saw the disappointed look on Li Jun Xuan's face and continued, "But he was wearing suit and tie. That's right. He showed up at the noodle stall yesterday I saw and he was driving a luxurious vehicle."

Li Jun Xuan's expression changed again. A face appeared in his mind and he muttered a cursing word.

Gu Xin Ye naturally noticed the change. Her curiosity heightened at the thought that Li Jun Xuan might know about the person. "I remember that kid, Luo Jun had said that the person is Qin Zhan's cousin."

Another cursing word escaped Li Jun Xuan and Gu Xin Ye was certain that the man knew about Qin Zhan's relationship with this cousin. Moreover… the reason Qin Zhan has been drinking too much was related to this cousin.

Interesting.

Just what was going on? Could it be that the reason Qin Zhan decided to quit his job was related to this cousin as well?

As Li Jun Xuan was in deep thought, he noticed that Gu Xin Ye has been standing at his side and watching his expression. "Right. You can go back to your room. Don't worry about Qin Zhan. I will look after him and send him back to his place."

Gu Xin Ye clicked her tongue and gave Li Jun Xuan one last look before she turned around and headed into the B&B. She threw her bag on the bed and walked into the shower.

Once she was feeling refreshed, Gu Xin Ye took out her phone and texted her friends that she had safely returned to her B&B. Both Lin Qiao and Shen Yi Nian asked for details of her outings with Qin Zhan and she replied to them without revealing how she had to drag a drunk Qin Zhan back.

Seeing that there was nothing worth gossiping about, her friends immediately gave up.

A while later, Shen Yi Nian's e-mail arrived. Once Gu Xin Ye clicked on the e-mail, she was surprised to see that her friend had attached a picture of Qin Zhan's cousin along.

Shen Yi Nian's call came soon after.

"Xin Ye, have you checked your e-mail?"

"How did you get that photo?"

Both girls spoke at the same time.

"So I was right? Xin Ye, is the person in the photograph the same as the owner of the plate number you gave me?"

"Yes. But how did you..."

"I asked a favor from a friend," Shen Yi Nian said. "I got his name and later, ran a search on him. Gu Xin Ye, do you know who that man is?"

"No."

Shen Yi Nian sucked in her breath loudly. "Xin Ye, don't be surprised. Let me tell you the man's identity." Her voice contained excitement as she spoke. "That man is called Zhou Yun Feng. Xin Ye, does that name rings a bell now?"

Gu Xin Ye heard the man's name and was unable to react. To think that the young master of the Zhou family would be looking for Qin Zhan!

What were their relationships then? Were they really... cousins?
