82 Training

On the other side of the island Ori and the others had just returned to their ship when Sabo, who was being carried over Ori's shoulder finally woke up.

Remembering that they were all in disguises and Sabo had no idea, Ori decided to play a little trick on him.

"You're finally awake you brat!"

"Huh, where am I? Ehh, who are you and where are my crew?!"

Seeing that he was being carried over the shoulder of a stranger, Sabo began to panic.

"Who are we? We're the ones who killed your crew and took you to sell you to the Celestial Dragons as a slave!"

"You're lying! Ori is the man who's going to be the next king of the pirates, he and the others would never lose to trash like you!"

When he heard that, Ori couldn't help but feel his heart warm at the belief Sabo had in him, but he didn't show it. He grabbed Sabo by his neck and held him in the air in front of him, he released his Sword Intent in a threatening manner as he said coldly.

"Trash?! Do you believe this trash will take an arm from you now before we hand you over?!"

Sabo frowned as he looked deeply at the samurai holding him up by his neck. He didn't say anything for a good 10 seconds before he let out a smile and said.

"Ori can you put me down now?"

Hearing that, Ori and even Roman and the others were shocked by how quickly Sabo recognised him.

"How did you know?!"

Sabo shrugged as he said indifferently.

"I train with you daily, if I couldn't recognise your sword intent by now that'd be weird! Between that and me knowing that we came to this island to get disguises, figuring out you were Ori was pretty simple."

Ori smiled helplessly as he thought to himself.

[This brat is too sharp!]

He tossed Sabo on the ground and walked on to the ship. Sabo whose body was still sore from his training struggled to his feet and shakily made his way back on to the ship. When he got back on the ship he glared at Ori and asked.

"My body's still weak you know. You could've at least put me down gently on the ship!"

Ori glanced at Sabo before turning away and replying.

"I've been carrying you for the last few hours because you were taking a nap after your little swim and now you complain about the way I put you down? You really are a shameless little brat!"

"Brat?! You're only 4 years older than me!"

"4 years or 1 day, I'm still older. Has no one ever told you to respect your elders?!"

"Hmph who could ever respect a shameless bastard like you?!"

Everyone else was prepping the ship to set sail whilst Sabo and Ori bickered like children. When the ship was ready to go, Shaya stepped between the 2 and said.

"Would you 2 idiots stop bickering, the ships ready to leave now!

Sabo what direction are we heading in to reach St. Poplar from our current position?"

Sabo glared at Ori one last time before turning to Shaya and replying.

"From here we need to head due North. If we travel at our previous speed, we should make it to our destination in no more than 2 weeks."

Ori glanced at Shaya sheepishly. Knowing what that look meant she let out a helpless sigh and pointed.

"North is that way!"

"Haha thanks!"

Ori used the power of the wind to send the ship flying through the sky, flying right over Cantera Island.

Kolan and Magram looked up in the sky at the flying ship.

"Dad, whose ship is that? And how is it flying?!"

Kolan shook his head as he looked at the ship.

"I can't tell, my observation haki can't travel that far. Cough cough!"

Suddenly Kolan started coughing blood! Seeing his state Magram quickly rushed to his side.

"Dad are you…"

"Don't worry I'm fine, let's leave this place quickly so we can start with your training!"

The Heavenly Demon's Ship had just landed on the other side of the island and was now speeding through the water moving north.

"Sabo come over here, Silk you come too. "

Sabo who was resting his aching body struggled to his feet and slowly made his way over to Ori who was sat at the rear of the ship. Silk followed the young boy over.

When they reached the rear of the ship Ori asked.

"How much do you know about haki?!"

Sabo was the first to reply.

"Only what you've told me in the past. Haki is the utilisation of spirit. There are 2 main types of haki which everyone can use. Armament haki is essentially when the user creates an invisible armour over a to strengthen the target, be it a body part or a weapon and observation haki is where you spread your spirit outside of your body to sense the presence of anything and everything that comes in contact with your spirit even if that thing is concealed from your line of sight."

Ori nodded as he continued.

"Over the next 2 weeks I'm going to teach you the basics of both observation and armament haki, from there it'll be up to you to improve. Silk as you're on the verge of comprehending observation haki anyway we can begin with that."

Silk looked at Ori and in confusion as he asked.

"I am?"

Ori nodded with a smile as he replied.

"Yeah, we noticed it back on Parch Island when you were fighting that assassin in the colosseum."

Silk despite his surprise didn't doubt Ori's words as he waited for the Ori to continue.

"Ok both of you sit in front of me and close your eyes."

When both of them were sat in front of him, Ori lay his hand one each of their backs and started channelling his haki into them.

"Can both of you feel that energy that's coming from my hand?"

When they both nodded Ori removed his hand and said.

"That's my aura. Now remember it and try and find me without opening your eyes."

As he said that Ori got up and stood a few meters away. At the same time he released a large amount of his aura to make it easier for them to lock on to him.

Both Sabo and Silk sat down for over an hour not able to sense Ori's position. Seeing how they were starting to lose focus Ori said whilst throwing his voice so they couldn't find his position from him speaking.

"Take long deep breaths, in through your nose and then gently out through your mouth… Imagine yourself as part of the world around you and then find my aura."

Suddenly a weak wave of spirit spread from Sabo's body covering everything within a 5 meter radius of his position.

[Ooh to think Sabo was the first to comprehend observation haki despite Silk already being on the verge. He must have a high affinity to observation haki like Shaya.]

As he was lost in thought Silk also managed to break through and comprehend observation haki.

[It seems like Silk must've instinctively reacted to the feeling of Sabo's observation haki covering him.]

Both Sabo and Silk instantly located Ori's aura which was blazing like the sun. They stood up and calmly made their way to him.

Once they touched him they opened their eyes and smiled, exited by their accomplishment.

"So you've just awakened your observation haki, but it's still weak and only at the elementary stages. Meaning you can't even use it in a fight.

For the next 2 weeks you'll spend the morning training your bodies. And then in the afternoons you'll spend 2 hours training your observation haki and then a further 2 hours practicing armament haki.

In the evening you'll focus on actual combat training, Sabo you'll be practicing with Roman as he's proficient with the spear and both the spear and staff are similar with the only major difference being that where the spear focuses on piercing whilst the staff focuses on impact.

Silk you'll be training with Shaya and be sure not to underestimate her, although she's better with the bow her martial arts are nothing to scoff at.

Ok now on to practicing armament haki…"

For the next 2 hours Ori taught them the basics of armament haki. This time it was Silk's time to shine. It was clear he was someone who had a far higher affinity to armament haki. By the end of the 2 hour training session he was just about able to channel his spirit into his hand allowing him to touch Ori's body when in his logia form. But even then it required his undivided attention and he felt drained after.

When the duo went off to practice with Shaya and Roman, Ori lay down and thought about the direction for his training.

[2 weeks isn't enough time for me to make another breakthrough with my Heavenly Demon Sacred Art. So even though I'll carry on practicing it, I'll only do it for a couple hours a day.

I've been at the peak of the Master Swordsman Boundary for 6 months now, but I can't seem to make that final step. If I focus too much on trying to breakthrough I'll probably create more of a bottleneck so other than practicing dual swordsmanship I won't worry about my swordsmanship too much.

If I'm not to focused on my Heavenly Demon Sacred Art or my sword play, then haki it is. My armament haki has a lot of room for improvement. If it was stronger, I wouldn't have broken Demon Prestige when fighting Beliard.

Also the fact that I wasn't even able to sense that something was wrong with the islanders back on Cantera when Shaya could even without the use of her Hawk Eyes proves I have a long way to go. Plus having a stronger observation haki will make my dual wielding swordsmanship improve as big bro Hawky said that if you're observation haki is strong enough then you can effectively do two things at once as if it were 2 different people doing each task.

So my aim for the next 2 weeks is to increase my armament haki to the point where I can maintain my armament haki over my sword at all times when I'm awake and improve my observation haki to the point where I can use wield each sword as if each hand was being controlled by a different person.]
