94 Shunsui Vs. Starrk

As the 2 stood just meters from each other, neither moved a muscle, they merely looked into the eyes of the other. As if the one to move first lost.

After a few minutes of an intense staring competition, both men disappeared from their positions, firing into the other. Ori drew both his swords but frowned slightly when he realised that Starrk who he knew was a better shot than he was a swordsman drew a katana which was hidden under his robe.

"Are you underestimating me? If you don't draw your guns you won't stand a chance!"

The 2 men clashed with there swords and Starrk was instantly forced back while his katana was almost cut in 2.

Ori was about to go in to put an end to the battle when a blue laser was fired from Starrk's empty left hand. Ori moved like a blur and put some distance between them as he looked at his opponent in shock.

"Cero?!"

When Starrk heard that, his mind shook as he realised that he was right, this mystery samurai really did know something about his past life. Starrk had learnt this technique when he unlocked the memories of his past life. Although others had seen it, he had never told anyone its name.

"I was right you do know the truth."

He then looked down at his katana. He could see that his sword was of better quality but after only one clash, he was forced back, and his sword was unusable. He looked up at the brightly dressed samurai who was looking at him indifferently.

"You've reached the Grandmaster Swordsman boundary?!"

Ori didn't respond but his expression was light. Starrk took a deep breath and cleared his mind as he reached inside his robe and took out 2 black pistols.

"These were made by Dr Vegapunk purely for me, they allow me to fire my cero's from pistols."

As he said that he raised the pistol in his left hand and aimed at Ori's head. As he did, Ori who never took his eyes off Starrk realised that Starrk's aura had changed, or rather it was merging with nature.

"Grandmaster Gunsman!"

A little smile crept up on his face as he started anticipating the beginning of the real fight.

As Starrk pulled the trigger a concentrated blue laser was fired at Ori. He didn't dodge, he lightly swung his sword cutting the beam in 2 testing the strength of the laser.

Ori frowned as he felt the power behind Starrk's shot.

"Too weak!"

Starrk didn't seem to hear Ori's words as he fired off 2 more shots, one at Ori's head, the other aimed at his heart. Both of which were more than twice the speed of the previous one. Although the power of the shots weren't much, the speed of the laser was nothing to scoff at.

Ori cut both shots in two when he saw a giant blue laser 5 times the size of the previous ones shooting towards him from the pistol in Starrk's right hand. Ori didn't try to split this one and moved like a flash, appearing in the air above Starrk.

As if he was waiting for him to move there, Starrk had already pulled the trigger and sent several rapid blue lasers at Ori.

Seeing that Ori smiled lightly cut each of them in two as if they weren't worth mentioning.

"I've been on the receiving end of your attacks for some time now, you should try one of mine.

Bushogoma!"

As he said that he sent two thick blue wind blades at Starrk. This wasn't with the use of his devil fruit, after breaking through to the Grandmaster boundary he realised he could use the forces of nature to some degree. Since he was pretending to be Shunsui he should pretend to use one of his moves to make it more believable.

Starrk didn't dare to take the attack head on and fired a large laser from the pistol in his right hand. Both attacks ended up cancelling each other out but Ori wasn't done. He moved like the wind and appeared on the right hand side of Starrk, Starrk fired a shot off with his left pistol but by the time it arrived Ori had already disappeared from the left of the sharpshooter and appeared on the right. Starrk was surprised at Ori's speed but he was still able to react calmly. He let out a smile as he raised his right pistol and fired a weak but fast laser at Ori's chest.

"It's ov…"

Just as he said that Ori had suddenly appeared behind Starrk and rested his sword on the neck of the reincarnate.

"You lose!"

Starrk sighed as he asked.

"How did you know?"

Starrk was referring to the fact that throughout the fight, Starrk had only been firing fast yet weak shots from his left pistol and slow but powerful shots from his right. He had been doing it to bate Ori into coming at him from the right and catching him off guard with a fast shot.

Ori smiled mysteriously as he replied.

"It's not the first time I've seen you fight… Mr. Primero Espada!"

Starrk's body shook violently as a memory of him meeting the samurai in front of him in his last life appeared. Although that was the only memory, Starrk was incomparably excited as he was one step closer to figuring out the truth.

Just as he calmed down he realised that the samurai had already re-sheathed his swords and started walking away.

"Kyoraku wait, I have more questions."

Shunsui didn't even turn back as he said.

"The deal was I answer your questions when you beat me. You lost, and I still gave you a hint which is more than generous if I do say so myself.

And anyway we have visitors. If you want to challenge me again, find me in the new world. And make sure you're not injured next time!"

As he said that he vanished with the wind.

Starrk wasn't surprised that Ori was able to tell that he was still injured, and although he wanted to know more, he didn't chase after him as a loss was a loss.

[I'll find you and defeat you in the new world.]

As he watched him leave, 2 men in suits suddenly appeared behind him with rifles raised.

"This site is off limits, put your hands up and turn around slowly."

Starrk calmly turned around. As soon as the men saw who it was they instantly recognised the rising star of the navy.

"Captain Starrk?! We heard loud noises coming from the pavilion, so we came to check it out."

Starrk put his pistols away and walked passed the sentries and said lazily.

"It's fine the intruder's long gone, just forget about it."

"Intruder?!"

Hearing that there was an intruder and Starrk wasn't able to catch him shocked the guards. One of them frowned and said.

"I'll tell the higher ups immediately!"

Starrk shook his head as he said lightly.

"No need for all the hassle, just leave it with me!"

The guards looked at each other awkwardly, neither knowing what to do. Knowing he was putting them in an awkward position he made them an offer neither could refuse.

"Do me this favour and I'll speak to your superiors about getting you some long overdue leave."

Both men nodded respectfully and said.

"Thank you Captain."

Starrk nodded lazily as he walked away.

Back at the inn the Heavenly Demons were staying at, Ori had just returned.

[Starrk's still suffering from severe internal injuries which was why he barely moved during the fight. He's that strong with severe injuries… I can't wait to fight him at his best!]

He looked up at the starry sky and sighed gently.

[First Tsunade, now Starrk… I wonder how many other anime reincarnates are running around. Ahh well whatever the answer, it'll make for a pretty exciting world!]
