5 The Learning of Magic

Without even having time to get up off the floor that was filled with my blood and vomit, I was once again forced into a tear and transported to a very old hallway. It was full of dust and felt like it was the very first part of the building that was built, the banner was different as it only had an orb with a golden glow around it, making it look mystical. The rest of the flag was a pure white, untouched by the dust that was prevalent in the air. Coughing from the sudden change in air quality I looked over to see an extremely old lady.

'Hmm he's young, but he doesn't seem to be emanating any magical aura at all, even normal kids at his age should be producing tiny amounts at the least.' The lady pondered this while pushing up her glasses as if to get a better look at the kid in front of her.

As I see the old lady I get a particular feeling, I close my eyes for a second, as I do my eyes return to its original glowing white, having my eyes turn back into a gods I'm able to see the inner workings of all. As I looked over, I see inside the old ladies body with great interest, to my surprise it was a gods orb of light that has replaced her heart, with strange tissue around it as if sucking the power out of it to keep her alive. It was incredibly dim for a gods orb light along with the weirdest one I've seen; then it came to me.

The old lady was feeling eyes prod inside her and look at where her heart would be, conjured an electric spear and sent it through the void attempting to pin and kill the child in front of her for knowing her secret. The spear dissipated as soon as it touched my forehead turning into shimmering yellow lights, the old lady recoiling at the sight of this sent hundreds of different magical attacks yet could never pierce my skin or keep me locked in place.

I just stood there like an unmoving rock while looking at her weirdly, "Why are you trying to attack me little bean?"

Hearing this, the old lady in front of me stopped casting a spell midway and was about to take a catastrophic backlash as a result of this I made it freeze, having it look forever trapped in time. The old lady didn't even care that there was a backlash and just gazed at me as if seeing a ghost,

"It's you isn't it?" she asked as if yearning for the answer,

"Yes, it's me."

"Come with me to a place that's more private." She immediately turned and motioned me to follow.

As I walk with her, I start to see just how much time had past since I had woken up. The once small girl in the tribe of people had grown into an old woman walking with a cane and at the last year or so of her life. As we start to walk down a corridor I see the paintings that adorn the walls, all of them are significant events in history, some with depictions of people building the altars with bright white blood at its core — others with paintings of gigantic magical beasts with hoards of mortals attempting to kill it.

After some time we got further down the hall, and the paintings drastically changed, they are all filled with depictions of war. One looked to be people holding the banner of the orb with gold around it while charging into a bloody battle. At the very front was a woman that seemed to be in her 40s with elegant armor that had adorned her along with splatters of blood while raising a sword. Another with a whole planet drenched so long and so much in blood that its surface was dyed a dark red.

Finally one at the end of the hall that was a flowering plant with a droplet of blood on one of its petals, soon we turn a corner and enter into a room that looks well cleaned and taken care of. There were beakers of things boiling and books piled into one corner along with a bed at its center. She closed the door and put up a box like a barrier that encased the room into a space of its own putting it into the void,

"It's you isn't it?"

"It is" I smiled

I start to shift into my actual form, with snow-white skin, my halo starts to become visible, my body changes from a small 14-year-old child into a chiseled muscular being emanating insane amounts of God's light.

"How long has it been since I've been sleeping little bean?"

"My name is Werin; my mother used to call me that back before the descending of God's happened and that was a long, long, time ago." She replied with a smile

"Werin, how long has it been since I've seen you?"

"5,642 years since you've last seen me."

"Has it been that long?" I looked over at her, "I'm sorry I was asleep for so long, when I had put the planets into orbit and attempted to create my own solar system I was fatigued and fell asleep, I'm sorry I didn't visit."

I gave her a playful wink, her seeing me wink at her again as I did all those years ago made her laugh.

"It's okay; you gave my mother the happiness and long life she deserved. It was all I ever wanted, and you had given me that. Even if I never saw you again or repay you, I still would be grateful for what you did."

"Well, there is a way you can repay me Werin."

"How could anything I do to repay you live up to a god?"

"Easy, let me learn magic from you; it's something that I created by accident, so I'm greatly interested in it!"

"Even if I had another hundred years I wouldn't be able to teach you everything I know, nor could I write it all down, it'd fill a grand library, and I still don't have that much time."

"I know you don't, I've seen how dim the light is in your chest but It doesn't have to take as long as you think, just lay down on the bed and I'll sit on the floor."

Werin got up and laid down on the bed with no questions asked, I was the one that was able to have her live this long and the make her mother live a long and happy life so naturally, she wouldn't disagree. She did this while a tendril of Gods light was touching her forehead, making her fall asleep and having her dream about all the things she's ever learned, be it magic, people, all the information she has ever had in her lifetime was copied and discovered by me.

Knowing this would take a while because of how long she has been alive, I sat down and waited for it to be done. After six months of sitting and learning all the knowledge, she has I peered over to realize the orb was about to give out.

Seeing this I promptly refilled the orb with God's light so that I have as much time as I need. Looking over at the once young girl I knew all those years ago I sighed knowing that after this was over, I shouldn't mettle in the lives of mortals anymore or at least in my form as a god just taking different appearances. If I could explore the planets that I created and didn't create while only making a mortal, I would.

Overall I ended up knowing that I should leave the mortals alone as much as possible to let them grow. But as I look over to Werin who was nearing her end, I get an idea and start looking into the laws that were created to support the realm while looking into something that could make what I'm thinking to happen.
