3 The Land of Light

When I teleport next to the altar that I had seen before falling asleep, it stuns me to see so many mortals around it. There were tens of thousands of them all in this one area; they built themselves a few buildings made of wood and stone around the altar.

Around the outer part of the buildings, there's a large stone wall with big gates on the four sides. I looked around to see the mortals no longer wearing the skin and fur of other animals; instead it was a somewhat thin material. I was very interested in the new technology of mortals.

I looked for someone I can get information from, after some time searching for someone I found a somewhat poor looking mortal begging for something called Gold/Silver/Copper Lights, I formed a tendril of light and wrapped it around the poor man's body healing all his wounds and ailments as I look through his memory's.

I quickly lived through his hardships, his good times, and bad, and through this, I was able to learn quite a bit from the poor man. As well as learning that mortals are liar's, the 'Gold/Silver/Copper Lights' are not even lights! It's made of a metal called gold/silver/copper that people put a value to. The lights part of the name is about what the mortals call this planet, The Land of Light.

I was somewhat surprised at how much the poor man down on his luck knew; it seemed like the education system on this planet was pretty advanced. After I created some clothes like the poor man's, I shifted into a small male child around 14 with a cute face and brown hair with silver/white eyes. Looking down and realizing that the necklace I'm wearing right now would 'stand out like a sore thumb' as the mortals say, so I changed it to a somewhat inferior quality silver necklace.

It was unceasingly pouring out God's light I messed around with it a bit before I made it so it wouldn't release any as to better blend in, I got rid of my halo or at least enough so a mortal shouldn't be able to see it.

I changed my skin color, wearing beggars clothes with pure white skin would look a little weird.

After changing how I look, I started to become visibly more corporeal in an alleyway, as I walked out I starting moving among the crowd listening to the new language that I'm glad I was able to learn from seeing that beggars memories.

I was hearing shop owners yelling things about deals and certain objects I had never seen before; soon I unknowingly walked to a stall with a few items that some man was selling. He looked up at me and saw that I was obviously a street urchin just from the way I looked still he told me about some of the things at his stall,

"Hey kid, this little statue is one of the few mini altars that the gods ever made I'll give it to you for one silver light!"

I looked at the man as if he was mentally slow, "Why would I make mini altars?"

Now it was the man's turn to look at me the same way I looked at him, "Kid get out of here, you're only here to harass me!"

As he was about to throw me out, his shifty stall seller eyes caught sight of my silver necklace that was still emanating a minimal amount of God's light,

he gave a sly grin "Kid how much do you want for that necklace?" He looked at me with a tinge of greed,

I, in turn, gave him a sly glance, "Two silver lights and it's yours."

The dumb kid obviously doesn't know how much it's worth!

"Here kid, these two silver lights are yours."

He threw me the two silver lights, and I threw him the necklace, I waved goodbye and left, as soon as I turned around I opened my gods' domain and threw the silver lights in for me to look at later I yawned and acted like I was scratching my head as to close my domain. A bit then I willed the necklace to disappear and reappear around my neck like it was before,

"Foolish mortal, trying to scam a god." I smiled with joy and kept walking.

Further away the man at the stall can be heard madly yelling, "That brat tricked me!!" He started sprinting to where he saw me walk to.

I looked over my shoulder as It felt like someone was running at me. I then saw the man's angry red face yelling and acting as if he's about to beat me. Seeing this I immediately start running away as fast as these little legs can take me. I was pushing people so that I could go in a specific direction, of course, the salesmen was an adult so he had an advantage and soon was almost able to catch me.

I looked to my left and saw a drawbridge with a few guards standing around making sure no one got to close. I quickly bolted to the guards, knowing that even if I did talk to them about it, I'd still get a punishment for tricking the salesmen. So over the drawbridge was the best option besides teleporting, not like it's off the table anyway.

As I ran up to the guards they immediately drew their swords while yelling, "Stop running to the bridge! We will be forced to kill!"

I didn't care for their threats as even if they did land a hit, it wouldn't do much. I dodged to the left and slid through one of the man's legs before diving into the water that was below the drawbridge, thankfully there was a bit of a fall before hitting the water and knowing that I was a bit fast at diving into the water, no one was looking at me during this moment. I was able to teleport to the other side of the drawbridge, after I did I kept running and looking back to see if they will lower the bridge to catch me, of course, that's if they saw me.

I kept running until I ran into someone that knocked me off my feet,

"Ugh! watch where you're going!"

I looked over to see a girl that I had just bumped into and also knocked down; she was an okay looking girl with blond hair and glasses wearing some yellow robe with a ruby red trim on the end and was looking at me as if I had just stolen her food.

I quickly got up and helped her to her feet, "So who are you to be running into people!" she yelled angrily with a pouting face,

"Uhh, a beggar?" As I replied I exaggerated my words by moving my hands up and down as if showing off my tattered and dirty clothing.

Without giving her time to process what if had just done I sprinted past her as to leave, as soon I ran past her a wall of ocean blue crystal blocked my path to freedom. Seeing this wall that appeared in front of me, I tapped on the crystal structure with interest,

"You're gonna come with me even if you don't like it," she yelled without even turning around.

'It isn't like I can die right now since I'm only taking the form of a mortal, so might as well do as she says, it's not like she could do anything to me.'

I followed her to the very middle of town where a large bell tower was, after entering we proceeded to climb the steps to a large bell. After reaching the top of the tower, she turns around and instructs me on what to do next,

"Jump off the tower."

"Are you mentally ill?"

Her face contorted and looked as if she heard the worst joke of her life, A beggar that ran into ME before saying something stupid, is calling me mentally ill? ....What a dick!

"Fine, then I'll jump!"

'Seriously what is wrong with this lady she tells me to follow her just to make me commit suicide? Now when I turn her down, she offers to jump instead?! Why are mortals so weird?'

Before I could even reply she jumped off the tower, I ran and tried to grab her hand as to save her life, but I wasn't able to get to her in time before lights started to flicker around her in the air then, she disappeared.
