Chapter 3: A Miracle

"Where am I?" Jin Ming couldn't help but have a déjà vu feeling when he asked this question.

When he opened his eyes, black dull scenery was the only thing that he can see around. It was so dark that he even can't see himself.

Nothing was going on in this kind of place. It was so quiet, but it was not horrifying nor it was peaceful. Nothing is the only thing that can be felt in here.

As minutes turned into hours and turn into days being stuck in this place. Jin Ming tried many things just to get out. He tried to move his unseeable body which was achievable or so he thought and felt when he tried to clench fist. As he tried to feel more of his surrounding, he observed that he was floating. There was nothing that was grounding him.

He tried all sorts of things such as flying which he was able to do. He tried to speed up which also made his flying faster. He enjoyed all the feelings that he've done, however, all of these will eventually led him to his question such as;

"Where am I?"

"Why am I here?"

"How do I get out of here?"

There was really just nothing that can be seen and felt here even though that days have already turned to months and turned into years as he kept flying. Despite what was happening, Jin Ming doesn't feel any sense of urgency, worry, fear, anger, madness and such. He can't feel any emotion despite the thought of being away from his parents. Even not being able to feel anything about it doesn't make him feel scared.

As Jin Ming kept flying, his mind would just wander, and a thought which really occupied him were;

'I never noticed that nothingness can be felt and seen.'

'How come nothingness can be felt and seen if it is nothing in the first place?'

'..and how come I am able to fly?'

These thoughts occupied him for countless years as he tried to look for answers...

"Let's see what happened so far before I got into this kind of place.." Jin Ming remembered that he and his parents were trying to open up his six apertures in order to step into the world of cultivation once again. However, as far as he recalled what happened back then, it was disastrous.

"I thought that the Heavens does really gives a leeway to everything? But why?.." Jin Ming could only sigh at the thought of this. He believes that there is a way to everything.

"There must be a way, right? There should be a way! If there isn't, then just make one." A harmonious yet monotonous voice sounded as a lofty answer replied to the young man's questions and doubts. Despite how monotonous the voice and how impossible to achieve the answer that was given to him, it was still convincing.

"Eh? Who's there?" Jin Ming tried to look from side to side to know where the voice was coming since he can't tell as it sounded all over the place. Even though he wasn't able to find out where the voice came from, or who or what spoke, he saw a beautiful red glob at the distance.

This glob was so beautiful, dazzling and majestic like a priceless gem. How can something like this exist? No words can fully describe the beauty that Jin Ming was seeing.

As Jin Ming was admiring the red glob, it was getting smaller and smaller as it was coming closer and closer to him. Despite this is what happening, he was still not able to observe this as if he was tranced.

The red glob entered on Jin Ming forehead without even him noticing, and as it entered, his mouth, nose, ears and skin gave off a red light as a red light on his forehead was also slowly shining bright.

The sixth aperture, Vital Spirit, was now extremely wide open.

Dark thick clouds were hanging above the sky right now as if the weather was accompanying the emotion of the man and woman were feeling now. The two were looking at their frail child who was lying on the bed unconscious.

The dark clouds started forming three days ago, and right now, frightening booms of thunder can be heard from time to time.

As an experienced expert, Jin Duan could tell that this was a sign of tribulation lightning but he can't tell which realm was this for. One can tell what realm is the lightning tribulation for from the sound of the thunder. However, what's happening was that the thunder booms came from the sound that is for all of the five lower realms.

"Dear, what is happening?" A charming voice asked the man, Jin Duan, who was beside her with full of concern.

"I don't know but we better move Jin Ming away from here to avoid being affected from this anomaly."

"Right. Please pack up our necessities, we'll go to your master's cave abode and live there for the mean time." The pretty lady ordered the two servants who were standing by the door.

"Will do, m'lady." The two bowed in agreement as they moved to comply right away.

As this happened, the two nodded at each other as they prepare themselves to move their frail child too.

Somewhere in the center of Baleful Valley.

Moss and stalactite can be seen in this open yet hidden cave. Despite this, the smell inside this cave was refreshing maybe because of the pool of clear water that has been keeping nourished by the sunlight that usually passes through from above. However, on this day, there was no sunlight as the sky was being covered by the dark looming clouds.

In the middle of the pool of refreshing water, a platform was protruding in the middle where a frail young man was placed. Melodious drips of water echoed beautifully from time as it hits the surface of the pool which can make ones mind clear. This was a good cultivating place.

Across the pool, there was a rock formation that was designed as a living room. Simple marble table, long wooden couch and exquisite rag were placed here. This place somewhat helped the couple who were sitting on the couch eased from their worries.

A month has already passed and Jin Ming who was been placed on the platform was still unconscious. They were hoping that with the help of the platform that have been carved with vital energy gathering help speed up his recovery.

As they were thinking about Jin Ming's condition, a small red crimson streak of light that was almost indiscernible shot down on the young man's forehead. Despite how indiscernible it was, the couple were still able to sense it slightly with the help of their powerful cultivation.

Before they were able to react though, Jin Ming's body began to levitate. This mysterious occurrence astonished the couple. Yet, again, before they were able to take actions, the deafening clap of thunder boomed throughout the lands that have been covered by the dark clouds. The dark clouds spanned a radius of a thousand kilometers which just barely covered some parts of the royal city of Nine Serpents Empire.

In an instant, nine streaks of multicolored lightnings strike down at Jin Ming one by one. These lightnings turned the world black and white as if the multicolored lights were harnessed and compressed it to be used to strike and obliterate the existence of this young man.

Despite how thin and compressed the lightnings were, it caused the cave abode to be blasted into smithereens. The couple were not able react in time and were greatly injured from this unexpected event even though they were already in the realm of Blood Nascent.

These nine lightnings strike down without pause and left as fast as they came, and so the dark clouds too.

When everything was over, clouds of dust and charred things settled down. Jin Ming who was levitating started to float down on the platform slowly as the red barrier that came from who knows where also started to slowly dissipate. His shoulder length hair was now a silky crimson waist length. His skin was now very delicate, fair and supple that women would be envious with, and his frail body was now built and lean, full of vitality as if the cuts were being sculpted by the gods themselves.

As Jin Ming opened his now crimson ruby eyes. He looked at his surrounding and asked absentmindedly, "Where am I?"

The couple were baffled at first from everything what happened. They thought that an expert was crossing the lightning tribulation nearby, however, what they now knew was, it was their son. But, when they saw that lightning tribulation, it was so different from the one that has been happening from the start of time.

The couple looked at their now dazzling son. He was so different now from the two. Thankfully, the handsome appearance still resembled the combination of the man and woman's attractive faces.

"My dear Ming!" The concerned pretty woman who was Jin Ming's mother was now full of joy as he ran towards his now healthy son.

"Congratulations, my dear Ming! You can now cultivate!" She was teary as she embraced her son tightly. She noticed that her son was now in a crescent cycle of Blood Awakening Realm.

Jin Ming looked at his now two strong arms. He stared at it for a moment as he used it to hold his mother dearly.

"I'm a cultivator now." He purely said.

"Haha! You are my awesome son indeed." Jin Duan approached the two in a ragged manner.

Jin Ming was shocked when he looked at his father, stained with some blood on his ragged robe, that's when he noticed that her was on the same plight.

"What happened to you guys?"

"Lets not talk about that first." Jin Duan couldn't help but chuckle wryly as he remembered their injured state. The couple have forgotten about their situation as soon as they just saw their son now awake and will be able to cultivate once more.

"Let's leave this place for now. I'm pretty sure we have attracted an unwanted attention." Jin Duan made up an intelligent excuse as he scratch his head smiling silly to his son.

"Yes, you're right. Lets go to my place in the Blood land." Jin Ming's mother agreed as solemnity found its way on her. No matter how ecstatic that her son can now cultivate, people would think that there must be a huge secret behind this miracle — a person who survived from being poisoned by the most horrifying and sadistic poison, and was still able to cultivate. There must be a heaven defying secret about it.

No person would not think that way.

Jin Duan could only let out a deep sigh as he began to prepare things that they'll be needing for the long journey. Blood land is the other name for the other land of the Blood Sun Continent which where his wife came from, while the other land that they were in now is called Sun due to how circular and with eight corners which resembled the sun rays.

Jin Duan's cave abode was now totally wrecked, and he could only lament on this. Even if he tried to rebuild this, it would be impossible because of the Vitality Core Vein of this cave has been destroyed from that phenomenal lightnings. In the end, the core vein will just become a fertilizer to this destroyed cave from now on and become a home for the spiritual herbs to grow for a thousand years.
