34 At Yuga's Place II

It hadn't taken me long to distract myself with more important tasks, like buying scented lotions...

I had money on me from Jackson, so I was least worried about it for the moment. The luxury body care products really intrigued my interests, their colour, material and beauty attracting my instincts like never before.

It was very unlike me, but not surprising. These days I barely felt like myself.

I had already bought some black set of clothings for myself and now I was busy grabbing the extras. It was a good time pass.

The day was falling gradually and soon it would be time to head towards the summer mansion which Yuga apparently owned. How lavish.

"How much is this?" I asked picking up a transparent potion vial which seemed smaller than my pinky. It wasn't very flashy, but still made me curious.

However, the shop owner quickly snatched it away as if I had polluted it. "This is called Felix Felicis, you don't go randomly picking it up."

Apparently, he seemed to have forgotten that the product was for display for people to buy, as he added vehemently, "It is extremely delicate, difficult to make and store."

"And?" I asked impatiently.

He sighed, gathering up his breath and holding up the vial for me to see.

"This right here is also known as liquid luck. It makes the drinker lucky for a period of time, during which everything they attempt will be successful. It turns an ordinary day into an extraordinary one. It is meant to be used sparingly, however, as it causes giddiness, recklessness, and dangerous overconfidence if taken in excess. Felix is highly toxic in large quantities and is also a banned substance in all organized competitions."

"So why are you selling it?"

He smiled, "I am not selling it, I am offering it to those who are able to turn into their wolf forms. Only a true wolf can handle this thing."

"Why offer it up, can't anyone just take it away from you?" he had me confused, the old man.

He giggled, making me wonder if he was high on drugs, "One ingredient of it still remains to be added and only I know which it is. And I am not easily threatened, mind you."

I pressed my lips into thin lines, a bit offended, "I can turn into a wolf."

He looked surprised, "You," he said, "an omega?" It was a skeptical statement.

I paused, looking at his bright cheery face as he still held onto his liquid luck.

"How do you know I am an omega?" I was sure even Yuga couldn't smell me out, my scent was lacking these days, very faint.

"I know things, that's how I do business in these parts of land, I have more years of experience than your age and I have traveled far, I can tell the difference."

Instinctively I tried 'Shifting' straightaway to make a point, but just as my luck would have it, I couldn't Shift. My core stayed cold. It made me anxious… "Then I will leave, what's the point of it if you are not going to give it to me... though I can turn, but I don't need to prove it to you." I wasn't going to tell the old man that I was not well, it would be dangerous.

"But I was going to give it to you anyway," the old man hummed, the vial delicately placed in his palms as he moved closer to me, "I have a feeling you can handle it."

"Seriously?" I was doubtful of his generosity, at first he acted as if I had polluted his vial, and now within a minute he was giving it back to me? Curious.

He nodded, "But make sure you don't take it while feeling down, your body needs something you are not giving it. So it will reject the potion altogether."

"What do you mean?" I argued. His person made me irked.

"Ask him not to leave you again..." he told me, then sighed when he saw the look on my face, "Kids these days." He decided to just hand me the vial and showed me the way out in quick successions.

"I don't understand, didn't you need to add something in it?" I asked, temporarily ignoring the fact that he somehow knew more about me than was labelled comfortable. Like who was that 'him' he spoke of... Michi? Because only 'he' had left me, I didn't remember anyone else who moved my heart like Michi did, not at present. And it made sense. Did he know Michi?

The old man didn't reply right away, "I was lying, that's a hoax for those who think of forcing me."

"Huh?"

"Pay attention young man, I said I lie to all telling them that the potions are incomplete, makes my business more secure."

"But you told me, maybe I could just come again and forcefully take it with me."

"Just try it, you won't be able to fight against me." He declared, "I might be old but am not an idiot."

However, I didn't leave, "What about payment?"

"I am taking a risk here, and that potion is a gift to you. So make sure to compete in that fest, don't make me regret my decision."

Now I was very alarmed, stepping inside his store again, but he just kicked me out. Literally.

And the sign on his door changed to 'CLOSED'.

I stood contemplating what just happened, or what he said, but a few minutes later I decided to leave, knowing it was just plain pain in the ass to make sense of the man, whoever he was. He was too scatterbrained. And definitely not a man of simple existence.

Something told me to stay away from him... and I listened.
