Rinnie frowned as his breathing was heavy, and his hand was trembling slightly. She might be intoxicated, but her heart understood he was in a difficult position. 

"I'm not stupid, Hugh," came out a weak voice as her eyes lowered, cheeks painted in red with all the short and long kisses. "I like Hugo's kisses that sometimes I don't want to stop. Every time you wrap your arms around me, I always feel secure and protected... to the point I sometimes wish you don't let me go. I always want to be close to you, but I always feel there is this thin, invisible barrier between us."

She slowly lifted her head and looked at him straight in the eye. "I didn't put up that barrier, Hugo. You did."
