15 Chapter 13: Why are you here?

I sat there, just frozen for a few moments, as I sat there completely still in the driveway. I saw their tags, and I saw the stickers on their car. Half of them were freemason symbols that my father used to tell me about, the other half were probably the same, just ones that I had not seen before.

I could not do anything, my father had told me all about these types of people, well, not really people based off of what he had said to me about them. I just had to hope what my father had said about them was not true at all. My father said a lot of crazy things, which was a lot of the reason my parents separated in the first place.

I saw that the animals were not in their truck anymore. I also saw a man and a woman hop out of the truck and they were walking out with big smiles on their faces, and they were speaking to each other quietly at the same time. I could not catch a word of what it was that they were saying.

They were at least a hundred feet away from me, not to mention they had not even seen me anyways. The woman gave the man a kiss on the lips, and he sat there with a big smile for a few moments. Then they both turned around, and walked to the back side of the truck.

I was still stuck, completely frozen, I was sure that at any moment they would kill me, and then they would sacrifice me to the devil. I shook my head, my fathers illuminati stuff was really getting into my head right now. These people did not seem evil what so ever.

They grabbed a couple of empty cages, which clearly had the chickens in them when I saw a bunch of feathers fall out of them. They still had not noticed me, as I saw them walk around to the other side of the house, and that was the last I could see from them as the light turned out from the truck.

I was still stuck, my body just refused to move. I was sure that at any moment that I would be dead. It was not like I could just get in my truck, and then drive off. My truck was off, and it would stay like that for a while as well.

Maybe this was their plan... To get me stuck here so that they could sacrifice me to the devil.

I shook my head, my father had really gotten me to go crazy, it made sense now that my mother broke up with him. There was no way they could be going that far out of the way to take out one person like me. But that was how the devil worked right?

I closed my eyes, I was going to be okay. I needed to stop worrying, the kid seemed like a good kid, which meant that he was being raised by decent parents. Who cares if they were freemasons? I have also heard good things about them from other people as well.

I did not need to be this stressed out, I could tell my blood pressure was rising and I was about to pass out on their front porch. I did my best to calm myself, try to lie to myself and tell myself that I was going to be okay, and that things would work out perfectly for me.

I had to be optimistic, otherwise if you were not, that is when the bad things would begin to follow you around. I blinked a couple of times, just to stay calm and lower my blood pressure. I looked at the truck and the stickers on it in the dark light that was around me, besides the front porch light.

I looked away from it, and then closed my eyes once again, and I just waited for the husband and the wife to come back onto the front porch to meet me. I tried to keep my head calm at the same time, trying to drown out all of those evil thoughts that had just been stuck in my head.

I sat there for about 10 more minutes, and it seemed as if they were not going to go onto the front porch and meet me. How long did it take to put some cages away? I shook my head, I should not complain about it, if they were going to take me in, then I should not be getting upset at them.

I sat there on the front porch for a few moments longer, wondering if they had already gone inside, through maybe the back door of the house. I was sure that they had a back door, the house was fairly large... Surely they had to have gone in at this point right?

Had the kid just forgotten that I had been on the front porch when his parents had walked in? Or had he just not heard them walk in... The 2nd part seemed to make a bit more sense to me, because I had not heard a door open or close inside the house either.

The house was pretty big though, it would not surprise me if they had walked in from the back side, and I just had not heard it. I closed my eyes for a few moments longer, and I just stayed still, letting the cool breeze on a summer night relax my body.

Just as I got my mind off of those thoughts, I heard the back door close in the house, signifying that they had just gone into the house, and they also had not seen me sitting on the front porch, waiting for them to notice me as well.

I shivered thinking about the freemason stickers one last time, and then I shook my head and got up from the chair that I had been sitting on for a couple of hours now. By now it had seemed that it had gotten completely dark up to this point. It was not even near that point when I had gotten here in the first place.

I sat there, standing up now, and just looking at their yard. It was a fairly nice yard, they must have spent a good amount of money on it... I knew that freemasons also got whatever it was that they wanted as well. I shook my head once again, why was I still thinking about freemasons?

Things were going to end up okay, and I knew it. I had just had a bad first impression on them. Their son seemed like a good kid, based off of the way that I had heard him talking to me. I just did not like the look they had on their faces when I had seen them drive by me.

I doubt that they knew that my truck was going to stop working and I would be stuck at their place. One of them had just probably said a dirty joke, and they had probably just felt a bit bad for laughing at what the other person had just said.

I looked at the upside down cross in front of me, as it was now fully dark, and the only reason that I was able to see it was because of the light that was on the front porch. I shook my head, and then began to pay attention as I heard people talking from the other side of the house.

I tried my best to listen in on what it was that they might be saying, but they were just a bit too far away for me to hear the exactly what it was that they were saying. They did not seem to be too upset, I could not hear who it was that was talking.

The wife and the husband could be talking to each other and they might be just about ready to go to sleep. I was tempted to go back to the truck and get my phone to see the time that was on the truck, but I chose not to, thinking to myself that it would probably be smarter if I just waited it out here.

I still could not hear the kid talking at all to save my life. I was tempted to just sit on the chair and just wait for them to find me in the morning. I was just so hungry and so thirsty, I was insanely dehydrated right now.

That was not what I was mainly worried about by just sitting on the chair over the night. I also feared that I might wake up in the morning with a shotgun barrel pointed at my face, and them probably wondering why the hell I was sitting on their front porch.

I decided to make my decision in that exact instance, which also seemed to be the smartest play as well, if I did not want to get killed over night. I did not know what the hell type of animals could be in the middle of Kansas either.

I began to walk over to the front door, figuring that if the kid had forgotten that I was here, or he had fallen asleep and could not tell them, then I wanted them to know that I was here. I was also a bit confused as well, had they not seen the massive truck that was in the middle of their yard?

I shook my head as I began to walk over to the door, I knew that I needed to let them know that I was at their house, and just sitting on their front porch. As I began to walk up to the door, I heard loud footsteps walking over to the door as well.

I moved back a bit surprised, it sounded as if whoever was coming over to the door was a bit upset as well. I figured that I would just go ahead and wait, if the guy had a gun, I did not want to make it look like I was all up on him, and I was about to go and attack him.

I heard the front door unlock, and then the door opened. I saw the guy, and he was a very large muscular man, I had not seen that from a distance. I looked puny compared to him as well. He sat there squinting his eyes at me, as if he was fairly suspicious. He then began to speak to me, as his wife walked up from behind him as well.

"Who are you? And why are you here?"
