Chapter 43. Elizabeth

I opened my eyes suddenly, my breathing was very fast, my chest was rising and falling with force, a pain in one of my cheeks began to emerge every time the seconds passed and I regained consciousness. Maggie was with me, she had a look full of concern, her face was pale. 

Honey, you're awake at last.

He came closer to me and caressed my face with one of his hands, the sweet touch of his hand on my cheek made me feel the pain intensifying more and more, I pulled my face away from his hand out of instinct and moaned at the pain I felt, so he wouldn't think I didn't want him to touch me or something. 

I'm sorry dear, I didn't measure my strength," he apologized somewhat embarrassed, he was no longer as frightened as at the beginning, "I slapped you to wake you up, you fell asleep here on the couch and while you were doing it you started to scream.

He stood up for a second and picked up a cup he had left on the table, probably before he wanted to slap me.
