30 Rumors part 2
" Anyway, that is all I know about the rumors. I feel ashamed that the group I was a part of actually did such and Alyssie?" Said Bella after she relied everything she found out about the root of the rumors.
" I think it would be cute. You know, you and our youngest hottie surgeon." Bella gushed
" Oh my. You saw it too?" Hannah added fuel to the fire as she joined Bella to tease Alyssa.
Alyssa rolled her eyes and did not reply. She was still mad about the pictures she received via the message earlier and she wanted to do something about them. just then another incoming call caught the attention of the girls on a call with Bella.
*gasps* "It is Dr Evans!" Hannah exclaimed
" Quickly end this call and answer it. Bye Bye." Bella urged.
Alyssa moved away from the girls and answered the call
" Hello?"
" I live the country and then you are rumored with a another man, that's hurtful." Calix said in a joking tone
"you left?" Alyssa choked out the words as her voice suddenly went soft
"yes, but that's not the main thing. So?"
"The rumors are false. They were started as a warning from some people." Alyssa said as she remembered the message she received and angered flooded her yet again
"Oh? You have enemies already? You sure are full of surprises." Calix said with a chuckle on the other side of the phone.
" anyway do you need help?" he added
"No but thank 3for the offer. Do not worry about it, we are handling it." Alyssa said full of confidence
"Is that so? I wonder what you are planning to do." Said Calix
" Since you do not need my help, the call has fulfilled its purpose. I am hanging up." Calix concluded
" uhm, wait!" Alyssa shouted a little to loudly because she did not want Calix to end the call.
" What's the matter? Do you want to accept my help after all? " asked Calix
" No, that is not the reason. " Alyssa said softly
" Uh... When did you? And Why? Are you going to come back before the farewell masquerade ball?" Alyssa asked as her voice became a whisper as she spoke because she was nervous.
The was silent in the other side of the phone. Alyssa could only hear his breathing. Alyssa knew that she did not have a right to ask him those questions because he was her senior and she should not be questioning him especially if heeft for personal reasons but she could not help it because this meant that she would not see him again if he doesn't not come back before the ball.
She might have been giving him a cold shoulder about everything that happened especially him ignoring her proposal and acting like nothing happened but her feelings have not changed one bit.
" I can not answer that." Calix said simply
" it's okay, thank you for your honesty. You may hang up, good bye." said Alyssa as she hung up the phone on her side.
She placed it on a table and breathed out heavily.
Her mind was going astray again. Of course she was very disappointed and now her mind was looking for reasons as to why he could not share his whereabouts and when he was coming back. Did he not trust her? Or was it because she over stepped? The worst one was the thought that perhaps Dr Evans actually has a partner and he left to go be with the partner. Alyssa thought that she could have been naive and was so controlled by her emotions that she forgot to check the facts because reality is that Dr Evans might really have someone else an that's is why he ignored her proposal. With this in mind Alyssa thought to herself that it would make sense that he would choose not to answer after all they have no relationship whatsoever so she doesn't have to know such details about him. But why did such a thought hurt her so much?
' No, I can not work on assumptions. Let me deal with the rumor issue first and then Dr Evans, for now, let's focus!' Alyssa thought to herself because her thoughts about Calix were making her sad.
"oh you are back? That was quick what did you guys talk about?" Hannah asked curiously
"He offered to help us with the issue." Alyssa said excluding the other stuff they discussed
"Aww, he is so sweet." Hannah gushed
"So what did you say to him?" Dove asked as she gave Alyssa a knowing eye.
" I told him that we are getting it sorted so we do not need his help." said Alyssa
" I knew it." Dove facepalmed
"Alyssie, why would you say that? I mean yes we are on top of things but being a damsel in stress fir him to save would have put you in his good books." Hannah said as thigh she was explaining this to a child who refused to listen.
" I doubt that. Besides it is not like we needed his help so I did not lie or anything. " said Alyssa
" sigh, I guess there is a lot we need to teach you. " Hannah concluded
"whatever, what did you guys find? Said Alyssa as she changed the topic back to the rumors they were dealing with.
" well, we have successfully eliminated the traffic the article was attracting and the comments have stopped. We are busy with the number that sent you that message and we will soon find out who it was." Dove reported her work with the help of her cyber friends
" There is a lawyer that is willing to help us with the case and we will meet him tomorrow. " Hannah said
" Alright, great. I have not received any calls from the school nor have I received heard anything from our families. However, even if the school doesn't act, we are going to bring this to their attention and request that they do take action because such things can end up hurting the cooperation between schools which will leave us at fault. " said Alyssa
" what are your thoughts? " Dove asked she was vigorously typing something on her laptop
"I do not know but I was thinking that we request a press conference. I mean how else will the rumors get cleared if it is not through the institute's connections in the country." said Alyssa
" That is not a bad idea, do you think we can pull it off?" Hannah said
" And who will take center stage and speak in front of all those people? I have stage fright so count me out. " said Hannah
" How about this? Whoever suggested the idea will represent us at the conference. " Dove said with a smirk because she also did not want to be the one to speak at the conference should the school allow it.
