5 Chapter 5 – What Did You Do?

"Wei?" Zhao Sean said after he found somewhere private and quiet enough to take the call.

"Hello, this is Sanlitun Police Station, we would like to speak to Mr. Zhao," A man on the other line said.

Zhao Sean's breath had hitched, why are they calling him now? Did he violate a law that he didn't know of? Or forgot to pay his taxes? He knows that he often forgot things but that must not be it, isn't it?

"Yes, I'm Zhao Sean, why are you calling officer?" Zhao Sean answered as he composed himself, he didn't know why he's squaring his shoulders but he did.

"We are calling to inform you that we arrested your fianceé and we have her in custody. There were some misunderstandings and a fight broke out from the bar they were at." Zhao Sean pinched the bridge of his nose.

That woman!

"Okay, thank you for informing me, officer. I'll be right there." Zhao Sean said.

He handed A–Yue's phone back to him.

"Let's head out, call the driver and tell them to meet us at the front," Zhao Sean instructed, and A–Yue scrambled to follow his order.

"Man, what was that?" Bai Muyang asked, looking up at Zhao Sean when the latter returned.

"I have some matters to attend to, sorry Qiushi-ge, Chris-ge," Zhao Sean said, bowing as an apology.

"No need for that, didi. You go first," Chris smiled, patting Zhao Sean on his back. The two immediately nodded and agreed.

"But you owe us a party," Bai Muyang said, making them shake their head.

You would think that as the boss of Bai Xia Entertainment, he would stay out of the limelight and avoid parties where he could easily be the target of paparazzi's and media who had nothing better to do but write scandals and rumors, but Bai Muyang is one hell of a fearless man. If there's a party, ten out of ten, he's there.

After excusing himself, Zhao Sean boarded his limo. He had told his other drivers to take the van and his staff home so he used this limo instead.

"Let's go," Zhao Sean said. He could already feel a headache forming inside his head and he tried to alleviate the pain by massaging them.

What had she done that had landed her in the police station? He knew she was trouble and that he shouldn't have associated himself with the Qins, but his grandfather remained firm about their marriage. Now he'll have one good reason to withdraw from that marriage.

"Have you told my grandpa about this yet?" Zhao Sean asked A–Yue, who shook his head.

"Not yet, I was waiting for your orders," A–Yue answered.

"Collect some evidence, compile them. Do some damage control because for sure, the media had already gotten whiffs of this and I don't want to dirty our family name so you know what to do," Zhao Sean said. A–Yue nodded and started tapping on his Ipad.

When they reached the Sanlitun Police Station, there were some media crews already at the front. They kept taking pictures even though no celebrity had gone out yet. Zhao Sean had been right.

"Let's use the backdoor. I don't want them swarming me because I can't deal with them right now."

His driver had found an alleyway big enough for the limousine to park around the back of the street. A–Yue went out first to secure the surroundings as Zhao Sean went out and went straight to the backdoor of the Police Station.

He buttoned his suit jacket first before approaching one of the desks to ask for his fianceè (or soon-to-be ex-fianceè).

The person manning the counter had immediately recognized the tall and handsome man and he scrambled to greet him.

"M–Mr. Zhao! Welcome!" He said, bowing repeatedly.

"Hi, I'm here for Ms. Qin Yuer," Zhao Sean flashed his practiced reserved smile.

"C–Certainly, please follow me," The officer stuttered as he gestured to Zhao Sean where to go.

"I–I never thought I would one day meet you! I am a huge fan! I love your music and I listen to them every day!" The officer babbled as he walked with Zhao Sean through a short hallway. A–Yue had to jog a little to catch up to his boss and his long legs with long strides.

"Thank you so much for your support, Officer," Zhao Sean said sincerely thanking the guy. He never thought that even police officers follows him and listen to his music.

They stopped in front of a shut door and the officer knocked, not wanting to waste even a few mere seconds of the Entertainment Emperor.

The door opened and they were met with another officer who let them in. The first officer who lead them here bowed before leaving hurriedly.

"Hi, I'm officer Xu. I was the one who had called you. I'm sorry for wasting your time, Mr. Zhao." Officer Xu said, apologetically before gesturing for Zhao Sean to take a seat.

That's when Zhao Sean noticed Qin Yuer huddled together with some guys and two girls on some seats. But that's not what really caught his attention.

What caught his attention was Wang Leo, asleep and leaning on a chair. He looked like a mess, a bruise had already formed at the side of his plump lips.

"What happened?" Zhao Sean asked, not taking his eyes off Wang Leo.

"We were called into a bar, Mr. Zhao, and—" Officer Xu was cut off by Qin Yuer.

"Honey! Honey! Please get me out, I don't know why they had to take me and my friends here too and they hurt us, they're bullying—" Qin Yuer's rambling was cut off when Zhao Sean threw her a warning glare.

She immediately shut her mouth. Knowing better than to argue with him at this moment. She had done it, she had tarnished not only his name (as it was already a well-known fact that they are dating), she also ruined her career tonight.

"Please continue, Officer Xu. I'm sorry for the interruption." Zhao Sean smiled amicably. The officer nodded and continued his story.

"Ms. Qin was throwing a wobbler because I quote,

"My god! My dress is ruined! Who do you think you are?! Look at what you did to my dress! Do you know how expensive this is?!"

End quote." Officer Xu said.

"It seemed that Mr. Wang Leo who had drunk quite a lot and was dancing on the dance floor had bumped into Ms. Qin and when he didn't apologize nor respond to her indignant shrieks for her ruined dress, she got mad, attracting the attention of her boyfriend who came with her in this club," Officer Xu finished, gesturing to the man beside Qin Yuer.

"Oh, boyfriend? Maybe I'm having problems with my ears officer. Boyfriend?" Zhao Sean asked, incredulous.

He looked at Qin Yuer who sputtered and tried to explain her side but when Zhao Sean's eyes landed on the guy next to her, she shut her mouth again, unable to meet his gaze and looking ashamed.

Wow, I didn't think she could look so ashamed. How come she's not ashamed when asking for my money and for some other things? Tss.

"You are not wrong, Mr. Zhao. When we talked to them, they stated that they are boyfriends and girlfriends." Officer Xu said.

Zhao Sean couldn't help but scoff at that. He couldn't be any more disgusted than he did right now. She not only used him for his money, but she is also cheating behind his back? Is this the woman his grandfather wanted him to marry? Seriously?

"Okay, please tell me how I could get them out of here officer," Zhao Sean said. He didn't waste any more time looking in the direction of his ex-fianceè.

But Qin Yuer looked at Zhao Sean in surprise. He is still willing to get them out of here even after everything that she did to Zhao Sean? She could feel tears well up in her eyes.

"Thank you! Thank you so–" Qin Yuer said, relief evident in her voice.

"Why are you thanking me? Ms. Qin misunderstood. I am asking Officer Xu how to get Wang Leo out of here, not you." Zhao Sean said, cutting Qin Yuer off.

Why is Zhao Sean so heartless? Is he really going to leave us here?

"Certainly, Mr. Zhao. You only need to sign here and pay for the bail and you guys could take Mr. Wang out." Officer Xu said.

Zhao Sean didn't waste any more seconds. He signed the papers and paid the bail. A–Yue can take care of the rest.

"Thank you, Officer Xu," Zhao Sean said, shaking the officer's hand.

"You're very welcome, Mr. Zhao." The officer replied.

"Do you need help in escorting him out, Mr. Zhao?" The officer asked kindly, but Zhao Sean just shook his head before picking Leo up effortlessly.

"We'll head out now. Thank you so much for your hard work, Officer."
