2 Chapter 2 : Great Catastrophe?

[Year 19 Months 10]

While the children were studying, and having fun, Noah felt an inexplicable sensation in his body. As if it were affected by an unpleasant itch, before seeing the sky colored with a small red glow.

Could the sky turn red? Normally, the only times when the sky turns red, are sunsets, but looking at the clouds, and the blue sky, it was still early afternoon, and seeing that his internal clock had not yet gone down, he was certain that it was not from a natural cause. At least, regarding the sky.

"Professor, why is the sky turning red?"

The teacher was taken aback by my strange question, then wondered, "A red sky?" before looking up at the sky.

At first, he had purely looked at the sky, thinking that maybe it was the sun that was falling, but when the sun was still rising, he had looked for another reason, but when he thought that the spirit tree had simply been mistaken, he could see that a small gleam could be barely noticeable in the sky, before he began to look strangely, then to take a pained and serious expression.

"What's going on?"

The teacher was confused, and did not know how to react, before taking an action, and informing him: "Hm... I think, this is a warning of the invasion of magical beasts. I must warn, and advise my colleagues. »

Magical beasts? Are there really monsters, and magical beasts in this world, with magic, and swords? In fact, it was pretty normal, and basic in a fantasy world, but seeing his pained expression, and the conflict he was addressing, it must not have been good news.

Monsters were often connected to destruction, and precursor to disaster. Notably, in modern games, and stories, monsters were not often benevolent, but rather malicious towards intelligent species.

Azra withdrew, then turned to her companion friends, informing them of the discovery of the Spirit Tree. "Rey, and Dona, we have huge problems."

The history teacher who was lying on the grass, laughs. "Ha. If the problem was the fact that I'm fat, then that shouldn't count, right? He said, continuing, "I've become so obese, Dona please help me. Dona ignored this, and continued to help the students study, calmly.

The annoyed professor clicked his tongue, and turned his gaze to his colleague, to know that he was looking at him with a serious look, and a strange anxiety on his face.

"Rey... When was the last time the magical beasts descended into the world? Azra's question troubled her a little. "It must have been 49 years, why?" he asked strangely, suspicious of the question.

Azra sighed. "I think we're going to be in danger, if we stay here."

Rey was a little anxious that her colleague was so serious, and asked. "What can be a huge danger in this little mountain?" asked the history teacher.

Azra replied with a pained look, "Look at the sky. And use your spiritual senses, to understand the reason for my concern. »

Dona, and Rey activated their spiritual eyes and raised their heads to look in the same direction, that is, towards the sky. Dona was the first to react. "What is it! Why is there already a precursor in the sky?! »

Professor Rey, looked with an unsatisfied look, and sighed. Azra was still worried, and asked him. "Do you know the reason for such a phenomenon?"

He simply replied. "In fact, I think there's a chance that the 'Great Catastrophe' will return in the next ten years."

As he thought, Azra nodded, and Dona was still thinking about probability, and her colleague's response. Soon, they began packing their belongings, and tools, before calling all the children, and gathering them to return to the city.

Dona took the initiative, and the other teachers stayed, and continued to discuss. "Children, gather all before me, that I may count if you are all present! One, two, three... »

While they were moving, Noah was still motionless, and could hear the children, and the teachers who were about to leave. He was frightened, and wanted to ask for more information, leaving him ignorant in this small hill.

With a bad feeling, he asked. "Professor Azra, what's going on here?"

The Druidic professor turned around, and informed him of the current situation. "The Great Catastrophe will soon resurface, and their arrivals will cause nightmares, and irreparable damage to the world."

"We leave, and return to the city to inform the kingdom, and the inhabitants to prepare for danger."

"What is a great catastrophe?"

"This is a global event that only happens every fifty years. These are upheavals of magical beasts in the territories of the Darklings that descends throughout the continent, ravaging the fields, killing men, and women, and destroying all in their path.

Rey also said. "They are real vipers, and real pests!" Which led to Azra, and Dona nodding together.

Later, the students left, and only Noah was left who could not move, and was waiting for the arrival of the Great Catastrophe to arrive.

[Year 20 Months 0]

A few months later, little children were hanging out by its tree, and sat under its leaves, and branches to stay away from the sun's rays.

"Mary, how do you feel!" The little boy, barely ten years old, stroked the little girl's hair, before sitting down, and curling himself on his roots.

Mary sulked, and did not acquiesce in the deliberate action of bringing him out of town. "How can you escape the city, and come back to that little hill! What if our parents, and the teachers, knew that we had run away, and went out! »

Advocate laugh. "It doesn't matter! I'm tired of sitting still, waiting while the adults are just crying, and hurrying to fortify the city! I'm not even allowed to go out and meet my friends anymore! " he cried in horror.

Noah was interested in outside news. The teachers arrived at the city, and began to alert the kingdom, leaning towards a total lockdown, and avoiding risking the lives of civilians outside civilian space.

Wouldn't the children in front of him be in danger?

Preach lay down, and looked at the leaves above him. "Spirit tree, are you still here?"

"I'm here. Why did you call me? »

Preach just wanted to talk to someone, other than an adult, and start pouring out her worries. "Do you know, Spirit Tree, that the teachers became strange when they came back from the hill last time?"

"Yes."

"Since they came back, they released us, and brought us home, and then the next day all the adults gathered, and started talking together, screaming, and crying!" he complained.

"Why were they crying, and screaming all of them?"

"Because he was shouting that the Great Catastrophe was coming, and that our village was in the point of alignment where the magical beasts were going to cross! They even talked about the fact that they were all going to die! He sulked.

Oh. Were the magical beasts going to take this path down to descend?

In other words, it meant that he was going to see with his own eyes, the magical beasts, and the fight of the inhabitants of the city, and monsters first-hand? Honestly, he found it interesting, but was also nervous for the children who reminded him of his brother, and his sister.

"You should come back to the city. Your parents may be worried about your disappearance. »

"I don't care! I don't want to hear or see them! »

Noah sighed. The children of this world were exactly the same, as the children of his old world. "Listen, adults are scared because they're afraid of losing you. If you leave your house, then won't your parents be more afraid? »

Nodded. "So why would you want to stay outside? Go home, and don't cause adults to worry. »

After finishing speaking, the adults arrived, and brought the children back, lecturing them harshly, so that they would not go out until further notice.

[Year 20 months 8]

He had come across a few adults who hunted wild animals, and did not meet any more hunters. It looked like they wanted to come back inside, and spend as little time outside.

How could he continue to live healthily outside, when they scare him? Magical beasts were going to appear, and kill him since he could not take refuge inside the city?

Fortunately, they had come to inform him, and to give him news, so as not to abandon him. And to think that they had abandoned him. After all, they pray, and have a certain politeness towards spiritual trees, as much as their elders.

[Year 21 Months 0]

The sky had become even redder, radiating murderous intent, and intense, before a flock of birds flew from the forest a few miles away, and a crowd of wild animals left their habitats, fleeing towards Cartel Village.

Noah had felt a tension, more intense than living beings, and felt itching that only scratched the roots, and branches. Damn. Did he catch fleas, and ticks on his body?

A few days later, he knew that the birds had peck at his fruit, and had eaten them all.

[Year 22 months 0]

There were little squirrels, hanging on its branches, and wolves walking on its roots, looking at its branches, delicious prey. At first, he felt scared, but after thinking about it, he had thought that a tree was not attractive to carnivores, so he looked at the scene curiously.

The squirrel that jumped between the branches, fell and died, eaten by its predators. Strangely, he had felt no mercy. How strange.

[Year 23 months 0]

An adventurer arrived, wounded in the legs, and lowered herself under her roots. One would have the impression that he was starving, and exhausted from his long journey, as well as various open wounds that had weakened him.

The man was at first, aware of his situation, and about to die, before he intervened. "Adventurer. Do you want to eat my fruit? »

Surprised, he stood up cautiously, and went around to find the person who had identified him. "There is no one around. I am before you. »

The adventurer was stunned, and turned to the tree on his back. "Are you a spiritual tree?" he asked.

Noah said. "These are regenerative fruits. Eat them, and rest. »

The adventurer nodded, and ate before falling asleep under his roots.

The spirit trees, was surprisingly reputed as harmless monsters, and grateful, helping lost souls, as well as travelers who asked for help. Fortunately, this world was not closed-minded, and had not undertaken any hostility towards him.

Luckily, or not.

The man presented himself as a scout in the service of the kingdom. He had gone to discover the precursors of the appearance of magical beasts, when beasts appeared out of nowhere in the forest near a lake, before he was inadvertently injured by other, more cunning monsters.

Eventually, he managed to escape, and had met him, calling him good fortune.

Later, he gave him the coordinates of the Cartel Village position, let him go, and returned in good health.

[Year 24 months 5]

Elven soldiers, as well as army leaders arrived on the outskirts of the city. As well as various troops tied up behind them, who continued to march with their provisions, and supplies.

Among his soldiers, an elf in armor approached. "Soldiers, put them down here! We will put the tents, and the food in the back. Prepare the stews, and the bread! All must be finished, before sunset! »

An elf named himself, Astral had approached his main body, and to speak. "O spiritual tree. Are you conscious? »

Noah was curious, and answered present.

"Ha! I salute you, Astral, Commander-in-Chief of the Army of the Fourth Division. »

"Spiritual tree."

He nodded, and questioned. "Did you see any unusual movements, such as magical beasts appearing, and strange activities?"

Noah thought a little, before answering. He remembered the words of the kingdom scout. "There were a hundred beasts, as well as various cunning magical beasts that approached recently. They hide in the forest, and occupy a large lake. »

Astral thought about it, and planned various strategies in his mind, before nodding. "Good. That is consistent with our reports. Our army has thousands of men, so that could not be a problem. »

"And what are you going to do to fight them? Using men against magical beasts? »

Astral shook his head. "We have archmages, and sword masters in our ranks, waiting in the back who is preparing for any eventuality, eagerly. With their presence, it is almost impossible to lose the battles. »

"Archmages and sword masters are so common?"

Astral shook his head again. "Obviously not. Archmages and sword masters are very important resources for our kingdom. Normally, they are not mobilized for such battles, but the scout who reported the situation, to declare having seen magical beasts of high rank. Constituting a danger for our kingdom. »

"Only elites can fight very powerful magical beasts in our lands. We cannot lose them recklessly in small battles. Many monsters are still in our territories, waiting for the right moment to attack. »

Noah understood.

Maybe he thought it was just consumable, but they were still very important, depending on the rate of inhabitants in this world. In particular, it is the graduates of various schools, and the skills provided that make it possible to train experts, and elites.

"How would you do if you encountered powerful beasts, when you don't have power plants?"

Astral scratched his head. "We just flee. It is impossible to win the battle, so we must flee for our lives. And if possible, notify senior management. »

Noah understood easily. This is the right conduct, to be undertaken from experience.

"Do you want a fruit?"

Astral nodded, and withdrew, continuing to give various orders, to each side.

The soldiers, and Astral, rested for a night, and set out at dawn for the forest, where the scout had fled. He had a bad feeling in his mind, thinking that it must not end well.

[Year 24 months 8]

A dozen Archmages died, and he was able to recover ten other souls.

He had wanted to swear not to see this kind of message again, but after gaining levels, he wanted more deaths.

Good God. Those who made me go through death, to be reborn in this beautiful world. Please prioritize the death of those that are useful, and allow me to increase my stagnant levels. Noah prayed intensely in his mind, and several messages appeared coincidentally.

Increasing its current level by several levels. [Level 25]

He unlocked a new skill. [Regeneration]
