26 Taste My Womanly Charm

A few hours have passed. After waiting for so long, Isabelle fell asleep on the tree branch. The tree branch was thick so she did not fall down. Isabelle found her position very comfortable and the gentle winds that brushed her face felt nice so she relaxed while waiting until she completely fell asleep.

Balthazar returned after informing the council about the attack on the village.

But what concerned Balthazar on that attack was the Valerian artifact that cultist had. He was lucky that the cultist that wore it did not know the full potential of its power.

The real reason why he didn't use his real power is that If he did, The artifact would react to his magic and its power would go unstable and possibly cause a greater damage than the cultist did.

If those cultist gave a mere mage without a sufficient knowledge about the artifact then two things came in the mind of Balthazar. One is that they are fools, A child with a dagger or They had another artifact of Valeria but something more powerful.

Balthazar requested the council that if ever another Valerian artifact were found at the hands of the cultist, He should be informed. The council agreed, After all there was no other mage who have more knowledge of Valeria other than Balthazar.

Balthazar was glad that some villagers and mages were rescued by the Paladins of the dawn order led by High Paladin Kelinor. But there are some who were not so lucky to be saved.

At his garden, Balthazar felt a strange feeling and followed it. It took him on a huge tree behind his mansion.

This tree was the oldest tree in the garden. Because of this tree many rare herbs were able to grow in his garden. Instead of fruit, The tree gave nutrients and enriched the soul with mana. And because it doesn't have a fruit it cannot reproduce.

But what made it interesting is that Isabelle was sleeping quietly on its branch. Balthazar remembered that Isabelle was not a well behave sleeper so he thought that she could fall so he use magic to lift himself up in the air. A metal platform emerged from the ground and it lifted him up to Isabelle's level.

"Really now, What got you up here"

As he was about to grab Isabelle, He noticed something interesting occurred. Isabelle's mark glowed in a blueish-silver light again and the tree reacted to it. The tree also emitted the same light on Isabelle's strange marks, The tree's leaves and part of its branches glowed.

"There's no doubt that it's really you, The moment I first felt and saw you"

Balthazar whispered.

He carried Isabelle on his arms and took her back to her room.

Morning came and Isabelle woke up.

No I fell Asleep!!!, Wait, More importantly, How did I got back here?!

Isabelle fixed herself and got down stairs and saw the Fenli and Hanli.

She was looking for Balthazar but he was nowhere to be found.

If He's the one who returned me to my room then he knew that I tried to peek on him. My grand scheme failed! not only that I was also busted!

"Young miss, If you're looking for the professor he was still at his room. He said that he would like to try your food"

"Yes yes missy, I can't wait to try it too!"

Good It looks like she was not busted yet, hopefully.

Isabelle then went to the kitchen and cook a few kinds of dishes.

After a couple of minutes have passed, It was finally ready.

Balthazar arrived just in time to taste Isabelle's dish. He sat and waited on the table while the fairies Fenli and Hanli on their humanoid form helped Isabelle carry the food.

"All right dig in don't be shy. Be charmed by my womanly powers"

Balthazar observed the dishes that his apprentice Isabelle made. At first glance it looked normal but on a closer look the ingredients are not uniformly cut, And some vegetables are not properly peeled. But the dishes still looked edible so Balthazar did not mind it and tasted the soup first. As usual the spoon just went through his mask like a liquid.

Balthazar jolted after tasting the soup.

Salty, It was way too salty. It felt like he drank sea water because of the saltiness.

He then tried the fish and the meat. The fish was still raw and the meat was tough.

"How was it? Pretty good right?" Asked Isabelle

Balthazar wanted to refute Isabelle but her innocent smile stopped him. He just answered her with a nod and a soft hum.

Isabelle's eyes sparkled in joy after hearing Balthazar's praise, Well, Sort of.

"Hahahaha these dishes are filled with my womanly charm so I knew you would enjoy it. Here eat some more. Be sure to finish it all"

Meanwhile Fenli and Hanli went pale after just tasting the soup
