Normally I tend to avoid reading novels that relies heavily on face slapping as a regular theme since it bores me to death, but intelligent and humorous face slapping like this novel, IRAS or AVL are very welcomed. There are several good reasons why you should read this novel: 1. The MC finds real love very quick, but his pursuit to win said love, how the love develop and how the couple interact are very realistic, which is a pleasure to read and the love interest is extremely lovely, intelligent, funny and likeable. 2. The four furry kids. For me Li Du's four furry children are the best part and I always get the greatest laughs when a chapter includes them or is about them. They are intelligent, very much humane and basically children in furry disguise, but with animal instincts to boot. 3. What little drama there is are never drawn out to point of getting boring, but is swiftly handled with humorous and intelligent face slapping. It's a joy to read how Li Du executes his devious plans of retribution, every time. 4. The novel is just different, never in a million years would I've imagined a novel about storage auction. Serious props to the author and translator!!!
Book is about a Mc in the World setting of modern day America who has been scammed by an institution in joining and then being left without any penny.... While wallowing in his sorrow he discovers an insect in an amber which and on breaking it gains an ability to see through the eyes of that insect as well as control its body to search for lost money and other treasures..... Looks like good to me...
Although this novel is not exactly something to write home about, it’s a great choice for a change of pacw from the usual chinese novels.. So if you’re tired of the usual tropes and cliches of xianxia novels, this one has done a pretty decent job at avoiding them so far.. A modern world, fast paced guilty pleasure advanture that is a great choice when in need to waste a bit of your free time If there’s anything to not life about it then that has to be the MC. Though thats just my personal preference as I don’t take to well to kind people..
the story is very good, despite the repetition and the slow romance, the author is not the typical chinese who exalts his own culture and denigrates that of others, to be honest it was the least racist chinese story I'm reading, if I have something to complain about is that due to the length of the story the author constantly forgets things and then changes them in the future, for example he said he wouldn't set foot in las vegas to bid due to the danger, five hundred chapters later he doesn't even bother to explain that no longer afraid or anything like that, he just goes. many cases like this happen, especially with their pets, there was even one time his girlfriend clearly drank alcohol, later she says her religion doesn't allow it, so... a little confused, I even stopped taking the information very seriously , even so, it is a good story.
The story is really funny and good at the beginning. (I hadn't finished the story tho...) The Interaction and his attempt to fool other treasure hunter is gold with his friend. I remember laughing a lot back then. However, it did become a bit repetitive, which is why I hadn't continued the story. maybe I'll read it again in the future if I want to.
This is a great story to read. If you enjoyed Storage Wars, then you will probably love this story. I even enjoyed the revenge against the racism against asians. While I do not approve of any racism, the author uses racism to build character depth and tries to show how stupid racists are while getting revenge. The other thing that I like about this story is the world itself. Most Americans would not really see any of these small towns and the history that makes them what they are. I get the feeling of the author that they have seen and experienced the locations that are in the story, and that is what really brings the story to life.
May Honest review First of all the tags should be updated the has a very good romance too which should have been included on the tags. compare to other novels that which full of hypocrite MC's that only thinks of his penis and idiotic female leads that is ok to share and be **** by the same guy with their friends, boss or whatever. (im bias , i dont like harem type novel its full of **** 😛) in this novel for me character relationship and developments is good as well as the respect when it come to ones religion even though there are issue on racism. the only negative on this novel is that the author projects the villain in every encounter in the story in a typical Chinese villain character which is very rude, arrogant & which have eyes on top of their heads. as for racism i know its quite common in other countries but it was exaggerated in the story just to force a conflict on the scenario and for the story to go on which it become too bland . there are some un answered questions on the novel but anyway , it is what it is and the novel is already finish. The good thing though is that it has a good plot. the MC as well as the supporting characters has good development as well... and ohh.. ah meow🐈, crispy noodles🦝, ah ow🐺, ah bai🐒, ah fei🦅, ali🦘and my favorite ah meng🦡haha those cute but silly guys hope my pets is as intelligent as them haha, all in all as long as you are open minded and can tolerate those racism and overly arrogant villain in the story which is nothing new and very common in every Chinese novel anyway, you will this novel good and i recommend it...

I've written a review for this novel before where I praised it to heaven and back again for it's freshness and the characters. The setting around modern treasure hunting was unique and aside from the Chinese supremacy and racial discrimination, I was thrilled. But unfortunately that's no longer the case... or at least my enthusiasm has dampened pretty hard.😔 Around chapter 1300-something, it felt like the author had lost his way and just wrote for the heck of it; the storyline started to fall apart, became idle and superficial with fillers upon fillers, the characters' growth stunted and whatever potential the novel had/has was forgotten or ignored to to laziness. In the beginning I gave the novel a full score, but now it's only worth three stars. I know my review has given it more, but that's due to the translation, the updates and the world background - NOT the story development and the characters.
