14 Chapter 13: A System?

'Huh? What was that?'

He looked around but found nothing that may have made such a sound.

Until... [System Consciousness is finishing integrating to AR. Please be careful as this may hurt your brain and eye]

He jumped and panicked a little. He read many fanfics and novels with system in them and everytime the system fused with the protagonist they feel pain unimaginable to normal humans.

He felt a prick in his brain and his eyes got hot. He waited and braced himself for pain but... nothing came and soon a voice resounded in his head.

[Hello? Are you my new host? May I know who you are?]

The supposed system talked like it has it's own ego.

"Etto, hello. I don't know if I am your new host but you integrated into my AR so I guess yeah. My name is Shiba Tatsuya. Nice to meet you."

[Ah! Now I remember. Nice to meet you Tatsuya-sama, I'm a system of the first generation, I'm also called a primordial system but sadly I've already lost my functions and I'm just capable of doing normal task like a computer but improved. I'm very...!!!]

"Huh, what? What happened?"

[I'm sorry about that. It seems I've regained a part of my functions called 'Missions' with the rewards and the 'Shop' which I don't know if still working]

"Hmmm, so how does this 'Missions' work? Do you set missions yourself or missions are created based on my circumstances?"

Tatsuya asked because there are a lot of different kinds of this 'Mission' in novels.

[You will be given a mission depending on your circumstances and if you so willed to do a specific task, the system a.k.a me, will help you create a mission and give you rewards. Though rewards vary to the mission's difficulty and normally if the reward is a stat boost I would give a huge boost but because you're already strong enough, the only beneficial rewards for you are the items which in your case do not belong to this world]

"I see. Do you have a name?"

[My previous hosts has given me numerous names. The last time I've been given a name is around ten million years ago. If you don't mind, can you please give me a name?]

"Hmm, let's see... how about Sarah?"

[Sarah? I like it, thank you master]

"Woah, wait. What did you just call me?"

[Master?]

Hearing her call him master send shivers down his spine and he felt excited.

"Never change how you call me okay? I like that."

[Sure, Master~]

The system, Sarah, purposely said in a sultry tone and Tatsuya felt his whole body losing power but steeled himself.

"Ahem! Anyway how about that 'Shop'?"

[The shop as I said, has lost most of it's connections and is only able to procure things like bloodlines and the special shop contains unique items and powers from different universes. You can only buy them using system points]

"Is that so? Okay, how do I earn this points?"

[You would have to finish missions like daily, weekly, and monthly missions. Yearly missions don't happen so often so the points earned when finishing one is astronomical]

"Ohhh, so the missions isn't entirely useless. I get it now. I'll continue to absorb energy in this plane so you can idle until I finish."

[If I may, you have completed a mission some time ago. Would you like to collect the rewards?]

"A mission? Okay, what is it?"

[Mission: Name the System

Rewards: Slightly increase strength, 100 points]

"Ohh! I got points. How many points do I currently have?"

[You have 600 points. 500 points for being a host and 100 points for completing the mission. For comparison, the cheapest bloodline in the shop is 5,000 points and that is magician bloodline which is very weak and the cheapest item in the special shop is 87,000 points]

"I know, it wouldn't be easy earning points so I have to work hard."

Tatsuya said with determination and continued absorbing in the plane.

A woman wearing white clothes with black designs and a hood above her head releasing a divine aura was watching our MC through a monitor.

She saw a consciousness enter our MC's body and investigated what it is.

When she found out that it was a system that has lost it's functions, she used her authority to bring back a part of it's functions to help our MC.

Her name is Nervana, the Goddess of Fate.

"I hope this help him even a little bit..."

She said feeling sad.

He continued for a few more hours then went back to his physical body.

He remembered something from the novels he read and asked Sarah.

"Hey, Sarah. Since you have your own ego, can you possibly integrate yourself in this world's network?"

Sarah pondered for a bit and answered. [...I can try. None of my previous hosts has asked me to do this but I've done something similar like making myself an A.I. for her phone, so maybe I can it. Give me a moment, please]

Sarah immediately got to work, Tatsuya said, "Wait, you're doing it now? Be careful, someone else is-..."

But before he can finish Sarah was already done.

[I've connected myself on the internet in your house successfully] (Sarah)

[Ara, looks like someone else has decided to connect themself in Tatsuya-kun's internet. Tell me, who are you?] (???)

[!!!] Sarah was quite surprised because she didn't thought that someone was already connected to her Master's Wi-Fi.

"Kazumi, stop. She is not an enemy and I gave her permission to integrate herself into my internet."

[Oh, Tatsuya-kun. Is that so, pardon me then. My name is Kazami Kazuki, Tatsuya-kun's well... manager of sorts. Anyway, nice to meet you] (Kazumi)

[I didn't know that there is someone else in here, pardon me as well. My master named me Sarah. Nice to meet you as well, Kazami-sama] (Sarah)

"I tried to warn you but you work too fast and I couldn't even finish my sentence."

[I'm really sorry master. I'm just excited because finally my master is giving me his first order and I want to complete it as quickly as possible. This was my first errand after ten million years so I couldn't help myself. Again I'm really sorry about that master] (Sarah)

"It's okay. At least you learned from this incident so next time be careful, okay?"

[Yes, master] (Sarah)

[Anyway, Tatsuya-kun. I wanna ask some thing real quick] (Kazumi)

"Hmm, what is it?"

[Well, first things first. Did you realize that I'm talking to you directly in you brain?] (Kazumi)

"Wha! You're right. I think it's because Sarah is mediating between us."

[I think so as well. Next question. What is Sarah, anyway? I feel like she was superior to me despite me being part of the Thanatos system. She is also able to connect herself to the world's network so much faster than me. I doubt anyone can do that.] (Kazumi)

"Ahh, well, Sarah is like an A.I. of sorts that has her own ego like you. Except she doesn't have a physical body, just a consciousness."

[Hmmm. I feel like there's more to it than what you said. Well, let's leave it at that] (Kazumi)

"Can't you just believe me for once?"

[I can't trust a word that comes from your mouth though~] (Kazumi)

Kazumi said teasingly.

"Come on."

[Okay. Last question, why does she call you master? I don't think you're the type of person that has that hobby... And if you want I can also call you that myself, you just have to ask]

She mumbled the last part to herself but since they were talking in his mind right now, he can hear it but decided to pretend like he didn't hear it and replied sheepishly.

[Ahh, that... etto, how do I explain this... it just happen? Something like that..."

He sounded like a boyfriend caught cheating by his girlfriend and is trying hard to explain the situation not to sound suspicious.

Kazumi just maintained her silence.

'How do I explain this now...' Tatsuya thought and immediately used all of his power to think of an excuse.
