10 Kimi Nishino

Kamii University is a famous college in District 20, ranked among the top ten in the country. Some notable students who attend are Kaneki Ken, Hideyoshi Nagachika, Nishio Nishiki, and Kimi Nishino.

During this time, Kaneki Ken continues to live a normal life without any changes. However, Lin Yi discovers that Kimi Nishino, a fellow student, recently went through a terrible tragedy. Her parents and younger brother died in a car accident. Coincidentally, Nishio Nishiki, also mentioned in the story, meets her during this difficult time, and Kimi Nishino becomes devoted to him.

A black car stops at the entrance of Kamii University. Lin Yi sits in the car, looking at the school sign of Kamii University, quietly saying, "You don't deserve her..."

After finishing his last cigarette, he throws it away, opens the car door, and steps out. He is dressed neatly in a suit, with his hair neatly combed and a tie around his neck. In his right hand, he carries a special briefcase called Quinque, which gives him a somewhat tough appearance.

His good looks and experiences of life and death give him an air of mystery and charm. Some female college students occasionally talk about him with admiration.

Meanwhile, on the rooftop of Building 1, a girl with short orange hair sits on the stone railing. Her legs dangle over the ground, swaying gently.

Despite her beauty, she looks lifeless and full of despair. She seems out of place in the busy college environment.

Knowing that the special investigator has come to the college, she seeks solace on the rooftop, away from the crowd.

"Little Brother..." Kimi Nishino's eyes fill with pain. Tears stream down her face as she realizes that just a week ago, she had a complete family, but now she is alone in this world.

Leaning forward slightly, she looks down at the campus below. The busy crowds look like ants from her high vantage point, and her fragile body sways in the cold wind.

Fear, hesitation, and loneliness overwhelm her. In the midst of these emotions, her eyes grow determined, and her body leans further forward. However, someone stops her from taking the final step.

"What's bothering you? Feel free to share. While I may not be able to solve your problems, I can listen and promise not to spread it."

The person who approaches is Lin Yi. He casually sits next to Kimi Nishino, enjoying the strong wind on the rooftop.

Kimi Nishino snaps out of her daze and turns to see a man in a black suit with a handsome face she hasn't seen before at the academy.

Kimi Nishino remains silent, not ready to open up to a stranger.

"Maybe I should introduce myself first. I'm Lin Yi, an Investigator."

"An Investigator?" Kimi Nishino understands. This must be the famous Investigator who has caused a stir on campus. After hesitating for a moment, she speaks, "I'm Nishino, Kimi Nishino."

"It's a great name. Your parents must be proud having such a beautiful daughter like you," Lin Yi compliments.

Hearing that, Nishino cried as Lin Yi is not a nobody and slowly console her

"I'm sorry. I've caused you trouble. I'll wash it for you," she apologizes.

"It's okay. Actually, I'm more interested in knowing what has made Miss Nishino so unhappy. As I mentioned before, I'll be a good listener," Lin Yi says sincerely.

As Kimi Nishino looks up from Lin Yi's embrace, her tear-stained face meets his warm gaze. There's something in his eyes that she hasn't seen in a long time: genuine concern and understanding. It's as if he sees beyond her pain and brokenness, reaching deep into her soul.

Kimi takes a deep breath, composing herself as best she can. She begins to share her story, pouring out her heart to this stranger who seems to have appeared in her life at just the right moment.

"I lost my family... They were everything to me," she whispers, her voice trembling with emotion. "I feel so lost and alone now. It's like a part of me has died with them..."

Days turn into weeks, and Nishino finds herself seeking solace in Lin Yi's presence more and more. They spend hours talking on the rooftop, sharing their hopes, dreams, and deepest fears. Lin Yi listens, offering guidance and wisdom, never pushing her to move on before she's ready.

As time goes on, Kimi realizes that her feelings for Lin Yi have grown beyond friendship.

One fine night...

After becoming a detective, Lin Yi had saved up a significant amount of money, making him financially stable. He booked a fancy Japanese restaurant, and the two of them had dinner together. Later, they checked into a hotel and spent the night...

Everything happened naturally.

The next morning, Lin Yi woke up on the hotel's spacious bed, feeling the delicate body in his arms and smiling contentedly.

He quietly stretched out his right hand, which had become slightly numb from Kimi Nishino's weight all night.

As he was about to get up, Kimi Nishino in his embrace let out a soft whimper.

Kimi found Nishiki Nishio in his apartment after he had been heavily wounded by Ken Kaneki. At that moment, she found that Nishiki was a ghoul. Nishiki attacked her, but he had to realize that the wounds had made him weaker than a human. 

"Kimi allowed him to eat a bit of flesh from around her left shoulder, leaving a scar."
