5 The First Boss... no, its impossible it can't be!

After a short time walking with Hornet still sometimes giving a chuckle or two about my earlier outburst of excitement that I have silently swore revenge for the embarrassment, we came to a massive chamber that is very dark, the rest of the tunnel and the chamber exit is very lit up so I am wondering why it is the chamber is not, that is until hornet speaks up.

"Be careful ember, this chamber is the home to a sorry being that has been betrayed by everything, it has quite the anger too." she warns.

"Alright then hornet, you go do what you do when I'm fighting." I say, but she has already left.

As I make my way into the dark, I could vaguely see the outline of what kind of looks like me.

I prepare my nail, as I have some knowledge of what this being is, Nosk.

It screeches and glowing puss on the walls begin to glow making the scene all the more horrific, I readied myself for the battle to come.

Nosk leapt toward me and I rolled to the side, relying on dark soul knowledge of dodge for your life, and Nosk crashed into the wall dropping... TWO MORE NOSK'S!?

Yes there were three Nosks I had to deal with now, I was about to get ready for an extreamly tough fight between three Nosks, but then I remembered that Hornet said 'A Being' not several.

That thought sent a shiver down my spine, if Nosk was not the being what was?

My answer came from a howl that shook the chamber, the three Nosks flinched (FLINCHED?!) from the direction the howl came from, which was from behind a large mound of bones.

What leapt out from behind the mound, I should have had a thought of being possible, due to this not being the normal world of Hollow Knight.

A large grey wolf chomped down on one of the Nosks.

I could recognize this particular grey wolf and how it was changed from my memories.

It was Sif, from Dark Souls.

But his fur was covered in blotches of rotted fur and flesh, his eyes looked blind, he had lost an ear and his tail was missing all its fur, the worst part of this all was what I saw was piercing through his middle, it was his sword impaling him through his side.

after Sif ate the Nosk he had in his mouth, the other two trying to run away, but Sif quickly crippled one by swiping at its legs, and the other one tried running in my direction, I took two of that Nosk's legs, Sif ate the second one then took the third.

I tried backing away slowly, but then I stepped on a bone that made a loud snap.

Sif's head snapped to my direction, I froze, as Sif began getting into pouncing position, I rolled away, barely escaping from the jaws of Sif and death.

It pained me, but I knew I had to end Sif, its quite clear he is my first boss.

My nail slightly trembled in my grasp, I took a breath, and began the fight.

|...To be conti- HAH you have been fooled to thinking this was an average length chapter, but its a longer one.|

(a/n due to me not thinking I could write fight scenes all that well here is the last part of the battle, might change later who knows.)

Me and Sif had a long stare down, as the battle was winding down in my favor.

Both of us gasping for breath, we both knew this last strike would end it.

And with a moment of respite, we charged our attacks inches away from striking true...

Sliding to a stop some feet away, we traded spots but now showed one another our backs...

After a few seconds with a resigned sigh, Sif collapsed to the ground.

I clutched the wound given to me by Sif, and used focus to heal.

I walked to Sif, his labored breath indicating him being on his last legs.

"oh great wolf Sif" I began, his remaining ear fully intent on hearing my words from hearing me speak his name.

"your journey has been long, and your sufferings great." I continued, Sif giving his attention fully to me.

"I know of your story, the great grey wolf Sif, and his friend Artorias." I said, a lone tear going down Sif's eye when I said the name of the abyss walker.

"I hope you will reunite together with him wherever you end up." I finished, Sif then lade on the ground, accepting his end.

With sorrow in my heart, and tears in my eyes, I drove my nail into his heart.

Sif let out his last breath, then began to disintegrate into ash, that scattered in a breeze that past through the tunnels.

From the spot where Sif lade, I saw what looked like a charm, so I picked it up.

{charm found, Lament Of The Abyss Walker}

I made my way to the chamber exit, not a word came from me, not even when Hornet appeared right next to me, with concern written all over her face.

"ember?" she asked.

I didn't even make a sound as I continued down the tunnel, making Hornet even more worried.

I continue walking down that tunnel till I saw a bench, it was not all that extravagant, but it was something I needed.

I sat down, and just cried, Hornet sat next to me and put an arm over my shoulder, and I let the floodgates out. (killing Sif kinda makes you sad when playing Dark Souls, makes you more sad learning more about the story, now picture you know the full story of Sif, and have to kill him yourself with your own hands, yeah not so kinda now is it)

Hornet just sat there and let me cry it all out before asking about it.

"you know that beings story?" she asked.

"yes..." I said, still sad.

"care to tell me about it?" she asked thinking me talking about the story I knew of the being I slayed would help.

"alright..." I said.

then I began telling Hornet about the tale of the undead, the immortals, the giants, the dragons, a tale about the Dark Souls.

...To be continued, at some point in the future perhaps.

(a/n yeah, I'll admit it, I was almost crying writing the death scene of Sif.)
