Chapter 1: Enter

Pyhransk, Crna.

After 2 months of crossing the frozen ocean, John Zalzek came across a grey concrete building. Walls 20 feet tall surrounded the area, the inside was silent and dark.

John and his group wearing heavy winter coats walked through the entrance gates. The security towers and windows were broken, letting snow inside.

The entire area looked abandoned as clipboards and papers looked untouched. Lifeless grey bodies were lay on the ground, their lips blue and covered in snow. There was not a sign of life as fresh white snow covered the ground.

John's footsteps were the only trace of human activity in the entire area. Some had already started searching through the offices trying to find the materials needed to access the building. Others checked on the wires trying to find generators, fuel and electricity.

John walked to the iron doors and inspected the panel. The hand scanner read, JLK Biom-... the rest was illegible. He tapped on the screen, but it was dim.

Nearby a group had made a small campfire out of office furniture and a hut to keep away the snow.

John walked toward the command group, three people stood in a circle pointing at a paper map. He saluted each in turn. The first one in an orange coat waved him off, the two others in blue coats kept gesturing as if in an argument.

Soon a whirring noise could be heard, a temporary generator was turned on and they all headed inside. One by one they took off their winter googles and hoods.

The three leaders took off their hoods to reveal a female face and two younger looking men.

Raena Keirls was the highest ranking member of the group, her planning kept them alive. Behind her were military engineer Jun Il-deung and scientist Ike Kagamine.

John was a scavenger that decided to follow them early in their travels. All he knew was that following them meant safety and being fed. He didn't recognize the building or what any of the signs said, but he assumed they did.

"Where are we?", someone asked.

"--- plant", Ike Kagamine murmured.

the whisper echoed throughout the building. blue metal pipes littered the ceiling as the needles on the guages all pointed to the left.

"Where's Genkai?", someone whispered.

The question hung in the air unanswered. The rest held a few boxes full of paper and binders. The cold and dark corridors felt suffocating as they walked deeper into the building.

John held the lantern walking across body after body, some were wearing blue hazmat suits, others in white coats. Red sirens and black and yellow symbols covered the walls.

'It's a nuclear power plant', John thought to himself. 'We found it'
