11 11 Yakumo Kurama

Many things happen after Konoha Crush. Sunagakure surrendered to Konoha after finding the dead body of the Fourth Kazekage, Tsunade, one of Konoha's three Sannin, becomes the Fifth Hokage after returning to Konoha, and Sasuke meets and loses to his older brother. Also during this time, Anko's cursed mark vanishes from her neck, and there's a gap in her recollection. Takahashi completes missions with Team 8, passes the Jōnin Exam, and studies his cursed seal. He decides to stop until after learning senjutsu from Ryūchi Cave. Having senjutsu as the cursed mark's power source should allow instant Sage Mode. If that doesn't work, he'll have to find a different source like tailed- beast chakra. He also develops new genjutsu and improves his genjutsu ability. One day after Team 8 completed a mission, Kurenai asks Takahashi to stay behind.

"Takahashi, I need your assistance with an old student of mine; you'll have to leave Team 8 if you choose to help."

"I'll help any way I can."

Kurenai then leads Takahashi to a mountainside mansion while giving him some background information. After entering the mansion, Takahashi senses himself being pulled into a genjutsu. He ignores the feeling and follows Kurenai deeper into the genjutsu. Moments later, Takahashi and Kurenai find Yakumo. Yakumo has long brown hair that's straight on one side and braided on the other, and light brown eyes. She wears a pink kimono with two pockets and a pink sash, violet baggy pants, and orange sandals. Underneath, she's wearing red mesh armor.

Takahashi looks at the horror inducing paintings in the room. After glancing at a painting of Kurenai being stabbed in the heart, Takahashi feels a stabbing sensation in his chest. He looks away from the painting and the sensation stops. He brings his attention back to Yakumo, who is currently painting Kurenai being set on fire.

"This girl seems to want you dead," Takahashi says.

"She has pent-up resentment; you don't seem too affected by the paintings," Replies Kurenai.

I see them as slightly unsettling art pieces... Hey, I'm Takahashi Shigaru."

Yakumo stops painting and looks up after Takahashi introduces himself. When she sees Kurenai, her Ido appears. The only difference between Yakumo and her Ido is that its skin color is tree brown, it has fangs, and it has horns protruding from where its ears should be. Once the Ido appears, the genjutsu they're in becomes increasingly more powerful so Takahashi must activate his Sosengan to resist.

"Soul Chains...Eye of Ice Soul...Lightning Tribulation Eye Flame."

Purple lightning chains wrap around the Ido. While it struggles to break free, ice freezes it. The ice slowly cracks as gold lightning flames fall onto and ignite the Ido. The Ido roars in agony before rushing out of the fire and charging towards Takahashi. Takahashi wields his Kusanagi Sword and clashes with the Ido.

Suddenly, members of the Kurama clan arrives to attack Yakumo. Kurenai easily traps them in a genjutsu before focusing on Yakumo's uncle, Unkai Kurama. As they battle, Might Guy, Team 8, and Team 7 come. They help Kurenai defeat Unkai and tries helping Takahashi but he refuses. He hits the Ido with a barrage of Lightning Flame God's Eyes before being able to restrain it with Soul Chains.

"Soul Searching Eye," Takahashi says as he glances into Unkai's eyes and gets information about the method of how to gain control of the Ido's powers. The method is to absorb the Ido's consciousness.

After gaining the method, he informs the Kurenai. Once Yakumo learns that she can gain control over the Ido's powers, she calms down. Hearing that she can become a ninja, Yakumo readily agrees to receive Takahashi's cursed mark despite being told that she's the first recipient of the cursed mark, the side effects of the cursed mark, and the consequences if her body rejects the cursed mark. Kurenai, Kakashi, and Guy start to disagree with Takahashi using the cursed mark but stop when hearing Yakumo.

"Yakumo, you will be in excruciating pain; try to endure...Eye Sealing Art."

Takahashi looks back at the Ido and seals its consciousness. He absorbs the seal into Yakumo's cursed mark, resulting in Yakumo screaming in pain. The screams fade shortly after.

"Yakumo, you can't train with your cursed mark until you have enough mastery of your current ability," Takahashi explains before leaving Yakumo and Kurenai alone and going home to check his updated status.
