The Scar

Lady felt unable to do his job; he couldn't stop thinking about being treated after the incident on his way to the mansion. Until that time, the chef was the only person who paid attention to him, but there was something behind all those acts. The incident might be minor to the chef, but it was a big deal for Ryan. He had been trusting people blindly just because they were nice to him once, but based on what just happened, it won't be happening anytime soon as he entered the vicinity. The thought of being mistreated by everyone kept on going on and on. Though he thinks everyone will mistreat him, the mansion is the only place that guarantees him a place to sleep comfortably. When he entered the mansion, all of the thought was gone as he noticed none of the residents had changed behaviour since the incident he had with the chef. So he takes it as if the chef kept his words and didn't tell anyone about it. As he was getting in the kitchen to help, he noticed everyone in the room was glaring at him as if the chef had revealed the incident. Since breakfast was closing in, he couldn't bother with those little details, so he bore with it since he knew none of them would believe in him whatever Ryan does.

After they finished setting up the plate and sending the food to the family of the lord of the house, Ryan went straight to the bathroom with two reasons behind it. First, he was trying to kill sometimes just so he could eat his food and second, he was trying to get away from any of those who were glaring at him. As Ryan walked out of the bathroom, he went straight to the kitchen to see if there was something Ryan could sometimes kill until he was permitted to eat. But when he entered the kitchen, he could see there was nothing for him to do, but that's not all. Ryan noticed the food that he had prepared was no longer where it was supposed to be. As Ryan looked around, trying to find the food, he slipped on something. And that something turned out to be his breakfast for the day. And when he found that out, the chef suddenly bumped into him from what it seems was on purpose. As he looked in the chef's direction to see him smiling, that's when Ryan knew the chef would make his life harder for the information he didn't have. But even so, it doesn't look like the chef will stop trying anytime soon.

When he was trying to start the fire to cook himself food to eat, the chef immediately stopped him from doing so. The chef stopped him by pulling his hand up so high that Ryan's legs couldn't reach the floor just enough for their eyes to be on the same height. With his scary-looking face, he asked Ryan what he would be trying to do if Ryan started the fire with his deep voice. The chef's face was scary enough for him to cry back then, but this time it felt a lot different from the last time Ryan looked directly into the chef's eyes. It was as if he saw something inside of the chef's iris. As Ryan was looking at it, all of a sudden, there was a ringing in his ears. It was so disturbing that he couldn't hear anything other than that loud ringing. The ringing continued for so long that it started to get even louder as time went on. As the noise became even louder, it began to hurt his ears, but no matter how much he struggled, the chef gripped his hand so tight he couldn't even move his hand. Ryan could no longer take on the pain in his ears. He used all the energy he had and swung his body, using the momentum from his body to kick the chef right at the side of his knee, forcing him to open up his grip that was holding Ryan's hands up in the air and fall on his back to the ground. The moment Ryan got his hands free from the grip of the chef, he immediately ran away from the kitchen to his shed while being in fear of the punishment he would get from what he did. The moment he got in his shed, he immediately locked up the door, sat on the bed while covering his body with the blanket, hoping no one was following him. He spent quite a bit of time trying to convince himself everything would be all right. The running sure did make him tired that even sitting on his bed made him yawn. Now that Ryan knew he wouldn't be able to eat because of the scene he just made. Due to that, Ryan thought he might as well sleep to kill sometimes.

As the night came, he immediately woke up from his sleep due to his hunger. When he woke up, the morning incident was still on top of his mind, but it doesn't mean forever, even if he gets to run away for the day. After a lot of evaluation, he no longer cares if he would get punished for what he did. As he went to the kitchen to help with the cooking, he thought he might get something to eat for the day, But when Ryan got there, he was immediately greeted by two maids waiting for him. As he was trying to get inside the kitchen, the two maids waiting for him stopped him from doing so; when he asked them "Why", they answered him that they were doing what their master told them. Due to that, Ryan thought it was useless for him to wait any longer, so Ryan turned around and started to go to his shed. But when he was taking his step to get to the hut, he immediately stopped. 'What is it now' was what he thought when Ryan stopped. When Ryan stopped moving, one of the maids told him he was ordered to stay there until Lady Karrie came. He knew he messed up for what happened that morning as he heard that. He wasn't allowed to enter the kitchen, nor could he go to his shed, making him very dull, but the thought of his foster mom meeting him was enough for him to make him shiver in fear the whole time he was waiting for her. Ryan filled his head with what might happen when they met up. But none of them has a good ending for him. When they met up yesterday, he had a vision of a dot that was blacker than the space in the pool filled with the most transparent water he had ever seen.

When he was having a flashback about what happened when he met up with his foster mom, a maid came out of the kitchen with the food made for his foster mother. When the door was opened, Ryan saw the chef on the other side of the door with a plate of the food he made. But the expression on the chef's face was as if he was trying to get Ryan provoked since he wasn't allowed to eat that day. It was childish but also working. But the chef also managed to make Ryan's stomach growl due to hunger, so he looked away from the kitchen. The opened door made it easy to see the inside of the kitchen, and the delightful smell from the kitchen reached Ryan's nose. The scent made him turn his way to the kitchen to see the maids and the chef eating facing him as if all of them were going with what the chef would provoke him. But when Ryan was facing them, he only focused his eyes on the food and nothing else. The chef's food for that night was enough to make him drool in hunger. Ryan watched them eating the food while he was standing in front of the door in hunger. He was so focused on protecting them from eating their food that he didn't even notice Lady Karrie's presence. But when she came to meet up with Ryan, everyone noticed when she was nearby except for Ryan. They even stopped eating and started to stand to show respect.

When Lady Karrie was next to Ryan, she gave a sign to the maids to close the door. As the door closed, Ryan immediately got back to his senses to find out that the person he was waiting for was right next to him. When he saw her, Ryan instantly wiped off the saliva from the drooling. When Ryan was done with that, she reached out her hand as if it was trying to touch Ryan's face but just from doing so scared the world out of him. As Lady Karrie put her hand on Ryan's face, it was as if Lady Karrie was wiping off some of the drool. And she said, "Are you hungry, honey?" to which Ryan replied with "Yes", but he said that slowly as if he was afraid of her hearing it. Even though it was a passive tone, it managed to be heard by her when she heard that, her hand on Ryan's face moved to his hair. To which she replied with an angry reaction, "If YOU are hungry, then do something worth feeding." But before a word came out of her mouth, her hand started to pull on his hair, making it easy for her to look at Ryan's face. The pain of having his hair removed kept getting worse as time went on. To make it worse, she didn't just pull on his hair, and she was moving his head around by using his hair as the pain kept on getting worse to the point where Ryan started fighting back by pinching on her hand, forcing her to stop pulling onto his hair. Ryan did for Lady Karrie was disrespectful, making her more furious than before. She pulled Ryan's hand, bringing him to the chef.

Then the Lady passed his hands to the chef, but everyone was confused when Lady Karrie did that. She told everyone to hold him still while Ryan's left hand was on the cutting board. Now that Lady Karrie has resolved the confusion everyone was having, from being confused, everyone began to be scared of doing what Lady Karrie told them. Like any sane person, none of them listened to her order. But Lady Karrie said that the chef held Ryan even tighter while spitting out some provoking him. When she put Ryan's hand on the cutting board, he started to struggle for his life. But the chef held him still firmly that all Ryan could do was to move his mouth.

With his mouth the only thing he could move, he used it with all his might by yelling the word "Don't do it!! Please!!". He yelled it over and over again, hoping none of the maids would listen to them. When that happened, all of the maids knew that time would be the one time they wouldn't listen to their Lady for once. And with that, all of them went to help Ryan break out from the grip of the chef. Ryan thought when the maid tried to get close. They were trying to help the chef hold him still. So he tried to yell even louder, hoping they wouldn't allow the chef. But his voice could no longer be heard by anyone, not even himself as if he was mute. That's when he heard Lady Karrie say, "Hold him still for me." That's when Ryan saw all of the maids' iris turned purple. At the same time, he saw a vision lined up just as everyone was. The vision was as if it was the point of view from the top look. The image looks like the maids were tiny purple dots, the chef was a yellow dot, Lady Karrie was a bright purple dot, and Ryan was a white dot. As everyone was holding him still, he stopped seeing a thing in the real world. As if his soul was out of his body, looking at himself getting his hand pierced by Lady Karrie. Right as she pulled the knife back out, all of the maids' purple dots disappeared from the vision.

When the blade was entirely out, Ryan regained his awareness, and that's when he felt the unbearable pain as he was yelling in pain. At the same time, the chef released his grip leaving Ryan sitting on the floor, putting pressure on the wound, hoping it would lessen the pain as cries fell from his eyes. As Lady Karrie saw him crying, she said to the maids, "Help him close the wound. I don't want him not to do his job tomorrow." Before she left the room, Ryan noticed her looking down on him while having a look as if she was surprised. But the pain kept him from thinking of something other than the wound. And just as Lady Karrie stepped out of the kitchen, Ryan started to get dizzy and lightheaded. Not long after that, he began to pass out. That was a good thing since he didn't have to bear the pain as he lost consciousness.

By the time he woke up, it was already the morning. It seems more like he was sleeping rather than passed out. When he woke up, the first thing he did was check out the wound from yesterday and see his left hand covered in a bandage. As he was taking a look at his bandaged hand, he said to himself how dumb Lady Karrie was for taking that far just from him fighting back, but he was also blaming himself for doing so. After a little while, he was thinking of going to the bathroom. When Ryan was trying to get up, he unconsciously used his left hand to support himself to stand up. As he got up, he immediately realised what he had just done and couldn't believe what had happened. So Ryan tried to touch the injured arm and found out that he did not feel any pain. He dumbly opened the bandage. He found out the wound from the cut was fully healed. All that was left was a small scar that was supposed to be a wound. That sure did surprise him. Ryan filled his head with how the big wound he got yesterday turned into a scar overnight. The damage Ryan got from being pierced by a knife on his hand turned into a scar overnight; how is that even logically possible. Even though Ryan filled that thought in his mind, the idea that he needed to get showered was still his top priority, so he put everything else to the side and focused on going to bathe. Even though Ryan's injured hand was healed, he feared that others would be all over him if people found out Ryan had fully healed him. So to avoid that kind of event, he went to the bathroom wearing the bandages warped around his left hand.

When he finished taking a bath, a person was waiting for him to get out of the bathroom. As he got out, Ryan thought he was lucky since he was one of the maids. But the expression of that maid was rather interesting. When Ryan was out of the bathroom, she looked at his left hand, which was injured. And when she was looking at Ryan's injured hand, Ryan heard her mumbling. She was mumbling in a prolonged tone which was hard for him to hear, but he did. Ryan heard her saying that his injured hand was supposed to be healed by now. That did pique his attention, and he didn't even try to hide it. Instead, he directly asked her, "How can that be?" Quickly followed by "That's not physically possible for a pierced hand to heal overnight." As she heard Ryan's question, she immediately went away from him as if the answer needed to be sealed. Now, all Ryan wanted to do was find out how his injured hand got healed overnight. From how the maid just responded to his question, Ryan knew he needed to find out why she would do that. That is a mission for another day because it was time for him to go to the kitchen quick. When Ryan got there, the chef immediately spotted something wrong with Ryan when he got there. The chef told Ryan to get rid of the bandage as if he knew Ryan's current condition. Ryan told the chef that he was wearing the bandage cause Lady Karrie pierced his hand. When the chef heard him say that, he went closer to Ryan. He stopped moving when Ryan could only look at his face if he were to look upward. As he got in front of Ryan, he grabbed Ryan's hand up so that everyone could see what he was about to do. That's when the chef unwrapped the bandage Ryan had on his injured hand. The moment the chef fully unwrapped the bandage, everyone saw the injured hand that Ryan hand only had a scar on the spot that was supposed to have a pierced wound. And he said, "You're bad at lying, kid." followed by releasing his grip on Ryan's hand. The rest of the time in the kitchen was awkward for him.

As they finished cooking, the chef punished Ryan for cleaning the whole kitchen to use his 'injury' as an excuse. It was weird how the chef talked to him. That wasn't how he had treated him since the incident at the field. The feeling of unease started to build up inside him, but that didn't last long. At that point, he'll take anything that will be thrown at him, mostly out of fear. Why wouldn't he? What happened to him yesterday has been pinned in his mind as a warning not to make anybody mad, especially those who were supposed to be his guardian, his foster.
