Chapter 62: First Common Vampire Encounter

It's already the next day as I began to move out of my room that the people gave me here for the night. I have already declined them to eat their food for breakfast thank god for <Energy Saver> that I don't need much food for me.

Also, I can just use <Creation> to create some takis, turbo flames, Doritos, or other chips that I make to feel the sensation of eating so no skin off my fat.

With that, I left the Sannomiya district as I was going to search for the Fifth Trumpet before the JIDA gets the chance.

While I was alone in the area, I had the time to get some cover as I used my <Double> quirk out of prying eyes as I gave the two some instructions, "Ok since I'll be outgoing searching in this dystopian world, I need you two create a base somewhere that won't catch anyone's attention. We don't need to be discovered too quickly."

The clones nodded as they began to leave to the sky while searching for a base.

Maybe they'll create sky bases were probably the most likely considering the majority of the ocean water is acid it will ruin any metal ships unless the ones the vampires have or by flight.

Alright then now that just leaves me where to find the fifth trumpet as well as savage anything useful technology-wise microwaves, phones, and metals that I will bring back with me on the trip.

Anything useful as I can't solely rely on my quirks in the open like this at least not now plus there might be survivors in the area.

Using my <Search> and <Scanning> quirks I try to see if I can find more people but instead, I got…

Yup more Horseman of John and there was plenty of them around as I see that they saw my position coming after me.

Using my <Soul> quirk I brought out Asura in the weapon of an ax as I swing it around as Asura warned me inside my head, 'Boss I borrowed the <Decay> quirk so the ax has the same abilities as the quirk.'

Great to know that Asura can speak in my head but the ability to use quirks in weapons while using Asura would certainly be a great boon in the versatility of the <Soul> quirk now that someone is operating it.

*Swoosh*

Taking one big swing of the ax at the Horseman coming after me I saw the effects of the <Decay> quirk being activated as one slash alone was enough to disintegrate the monsters as they began to wither away like dust.

*Swoosh*

*Slam*

Another one of those Horseman was charging at me as I use the momentum of the ax to slam it down lifting me using the force of the strike as I made a slam down motion at the monsters as it was split in half.

More of them came forward as I began to hack and slash them without mercy as in one slash with the soul ax that has the <Decay> quirk was more than enough to take them out. As each slash mark that hit them began to decay at a fast level for them to become dust in the wind viewing them disappear.

When the last one was gone, I began to search around the area to find something useful since everything here is destroyed. But I did catch my interest in the moto vehicles around the place.

Remembering that the virus did kill off most of the adults in this world I was suddenly reminded of something as I slam my fist to the open palm one as I spoke, "Oh! Since the virus killed off the human adults in this world does that mean the currency of this world is free for the taking then?"

Yup, if the world was shit then would all the valuable money and resources of this world be free for the taking if that is the case?

I mean it's not like the vampires are going to use any of human currency and certainly not the humans since they are way too focused on survival to care for monetary value. I on the other hand have the access to this place and all of the world's resources as I could use the extra money to get what I need.

I guess there are some perks of going into these worlds there is no one to stop you from stealing the goodies in places like these…

But still though since there are a lot of cars and motorcycles destroyed or unusable since the majority of people here aren't mechanics to know how to fix one these are useless to the younger generation.

I on the other hand can repair these to their proper states. Why not if I'm going to experience a dystopian world like this then I need a ride to function as well as act as my place to stock supplies while not being suspicious of the people in Sannomiya.

That was when I heard from Alter Ego respond to me in a worried tone as she spoke to me while I began fixing one of the cars, 'Sir, not to be the one to point this out but are you sure trusting those people is wise? In this day and age wouldn't they be more concerned what trouble you bring?'

Hearing this I didn't have anything to refute Alter Ego words since I heard that the people will give out information to the JIDA for food of what's happening.

The thought of them betraying me was very high if they were to receive a large amount of food for my information or is it because I'm naïve to think that they will not say anything to me just because I saved them?

Should I have acted differently if that was the case?

Taking a deep breath to relax my nerves I began to reply to Alter Ego with some hesitation on my end as I spoke, "Honestly Alter Ego… I'm not sure of the answer to that one question. People will do just about anything if it guarantees their survival or protection. I mean because of one-person greed caused the end of the world but would that mean everyone is like that?"

Alter Ego just nods her head as she was satisfied with my answer although I don't think I'm very convinced with my answer because of the humans of this world.

Humans in Seraph of the End the world over were held accountable for their demise after a few experimented with the Seraph of the End beings. Whether to survive or acquire it for the sake of doing so, many humans are thirsty for power and thus organizations like the Japanese Imperial Demon Army were created.

I could understand that considering I have the first-hand experience wanting power myself and I'm also greedy to travel other worlds for fun at first then it soon became for power but fun along the way.

I'm overthinking things like this would go over my head for now though I'll do what I can and hope for the best.

And speaking of the best the car that I was working on is working in prime condition and with the <Creation> quirk to create gasoline to use as fuel as I speak for myself, "Perfect the car is good as new. I know that I'm still a kid without any driving license but there is no law enforcement to stop me."

With that, I took the new car out for a spin as I began to drive around the destroyed city of japan away from the Sannomiya district to help distract my mind.

After a few hours of driving around I managed to find myself at a district I can remember from another world where my first kill was in the MHA world against Muscular.

This place has seen better days with all the places being mold all over the place and missing cars parts as well as abandoned motorcycles in the place.

However, that wasn't the main reason as I detected some monsters nearby using my <Scanning> quirk although in their case it's bluer to me since they don't have heat signatures anymore.

So, the colder they are the stronger they can be, but it seems to me that they are weak maybe…

Vampires have impressive power and regenerative abilities; this increases with their lineage and age. They can easily reattach a limb. It is also possible to reattach a vampire's head, although the vampire in question will need someone to bring the two ends of the neck together.

And from the looks of things, they found me as I stopped the car as I enter into my Model Prime Armor as I equip with my <Soul Decay: Ax> with the equipped quirks at the ready.

Stepping outside the vehicle seems to get the bloodsucker's attentions as from the looks of them they are the common vampires. Common vampire tends to be weaker than the higher classes but remains stronger than humans. A common vampire with greater battle prowess has an influence similar to a lower-ranked noble.

There were several three of them when I revealed myself, they looked as if they were intrigued as one of them spoke out, "Oh? This is a new one livestock wearing armor?"

The other one then commented as he noticed my ax while looking completely bored as he speaks in a deadpan tone, "Hmm… I wonder how this livestock managed to obtain such weapons. That's a new one."

Taking them using my speed I managed to decapitate at least one of them as the others reacted, but I managed to follow their movements. Although their expressions changed to surprise as they never experienced someone like me before.

I mean who can blame them it was only when the JIDA took action is when the vampires realized that the humans are dangerous since they stayed ignorant for a while now. Or possibly because of their leader ignoring them for her own goals of resurrecting Asuramaru to this plane.

Note to self-make sure she dies first and fast because I'm a literal dead man if she found out that I made her brother gone period forever.

That was when the vampires got their act together as they merely glared at me but still not cautious enough as they activated their weapons of Second-class as they are used by common vampires and are not as powerful as first-class weapons, but these weapons enhance their physical abilities as well.

Swinging my ax around at speeds that were equaling their own they clashed their weapons with my own, but the bad thing was only two touched my ax as they clashed. Bad move on their part with <Decay> attached to the weapon.

However, that was when they noticed that their weapons began to crumble into dust as the shock in their eyes was evident as the decaying didn't stop there as it began to travel further to their hands as they began to turn to ash.

*Swoosh*

A quick motion on their end as they cut off their wrist that was attached to the hand to ensure they don't die. But I wasn't going to waste their time with this as I rushed towards them with my ax bringing the momentum that it has towards their area aimed at their stomachs.

*Slash*

Cutting them at their abdomen apart the effects of <Decay> worked once more showing that they died becoming dust in the process. I have to say Shigiraki's quirk is certainly useful in these kinds of situations to simply disintegrate them with such ease.

Swinging my ax to help my balance at the last one remaining he was pretty much angry or is it anger shown since they aren't prone to express other emotions.

The vampire only held his weapon at me as I just looked at him although these vampires of the common type are weak to me doesn't mean the others are like them considering their outfits gave them away as the common types.

The noble ones are the bloodsuckers I should concern myself as I took my weapon as I pointed it in the last common one's direction as I spoke, "You… I just need you to answer a few questions for me or else you will face the worst way to comply."

Walking towards him more I began to wonder as I think to myself in a curious tone, 'I wonder what kind of information these vampires have that will be useful. Also, I should ask what materials would make their weapons give their boosted power as well.'

With that, I began to run some tests on the common vampire in front of me to confirm a few things…
