Chapter 58: Black Demon Series

As I was leaving the building having my Prime Model Armor stealth mode on, I soon viewed the building seeing multiple students and a few adults in the area walking around the area. Seeing this gave me some hope that this world still has the chance to change but for now, I have pressing matters to attend to.

Glancing around more I still have my <Scanning> and <Search> quirk active as I see the power levels of everyone in the area. Already I can tell where the most powerful power levels are in the area are more in the center of this place.

Using the talents of the <Ultimate Assassin> and <Ultimate Spy> I made sure to keep my presence at an all-time minimum considering that the soldiers here use demon weapons I don't know if they can sense my presence or not.

Better to not leave it to chance as this is my first time dealing with mythical creatures and not animals.

Maneuvering around carefully around people as I try to not bump into them, I ensure that I won't make contact. However, I can tell there are multiple high-power levels in the area that are stationary as they are and few that are moving around.

I can tell that must be the noble Hiragi family that controls most of everything in Shibuya best to not get their attention on me especially their leader.

As for the other ones moving, I can tell that would be the Moon Demon Company soldiers as they are specifically trained to fight and are stronger than the normal humans here anyway as I see most of them are just teens.

Although I would wish that the people in charge would make up their minds of helping people from outside their trump wall other immigrants but considering the human population, have their hands full.

The Moon Demon Company in Seraph of the End is an elite military group that is famous within the Vampire Extermination Unit. It is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Guren Ichinose.

Squad leaders include Sergeant Shinoa Hiragi, Sergeant Makoto Narumi, Sergeant Aiko Aihara, and many others. They work in squads of five or more because a smaller team might not survive an encounter with an armed vampire.

This company emphasizes teamwork and encourages its members to think of each other as family. Their weapons include mass-produced Enchanted Gear, Cursed Gear including four bearers of the Black Demon Series, Cursed Gear Stimulants, and spellcraft.

Well maybe less now that I came to take some of the Black Demon Series considering I need the firepower and their special properties to injure even a vampire to deal permanent damage, but I digress.

The squads fight to exterminate the vampires, capture or kill noble vampires, and rescue humans in that order. Along the way, it was even noted by Narumi and his squad, alongside the others present that they are highly supportive of Guren's leadership.

Grudgingly, they don't want any other high-ranking officials above Guren to be their leader in the Moon Demon Company such as the Hiragi Family. Seriously that family is like serious trouble if the normal people don't want to follow them not like they have a choice in the matter.

In addition, the name, Moon Demon Company, has also served as the type to be a five-men battle formation rather than an elite military group alone. The two vanguards who were good at close combat would have to block the attacks from the enemies.

At the same time, the rearguards would use curses to launch middle-range and long-range attacks. This was a battle tactic leaning more towards defense.

The Hiragi Family is the most powerful in Japan and are the current leaders of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. They managed to control the JIDA through nepotism and having its family members be skilled and powerful fighters and magic users.

As a consequence, this leads to power struggles that cause discomfort among its members, particularly Guren and Shinoa. The family is noted as 'scary' by many, including Mitsuba and even Shinoa, who is a Hiragi herself.

The Hiragis have a pedigree of 1,200 years. They became the top religious organization known as the Order of the Imperial Demons and one of the centers of Japan's magical society.

Several centuries ago, the Hiragi family developed impressive spell-casting abilities and were successful enough to create branch families that would continue to serve them over centuries. These branch families would also have lesser families serving them.

The Hiragi themselves have absolute status and privilege. Except for Shinoa, they all have high-ranking military positions regardless of whether they earned them or not.

By the start of Catastrophe, they have ten branch families, but the number has decreased by the time Vampire Reign begins.

It is later revealed that the Hiragi family has been manipulated by the former first progenitor of the vampires, Shikama Doji, where he would possess every head of the Hiragi Family to have the Imperial Demons to develop the Seraph of the End project and was the true reason as to how they monopolized power in Japans Underground for so long unbeaten.

It's sickening how these guys were duped by Shikama Doji as each head of that family was a slave to that demon that led to the downfall of mankind.

Then again, it's not like that bastard is impossible to kill either since nothing in this world can harm him because of his near invulnerability/immortality as in Shikama Doji has implied that essentially nothing, not even a Seraph, can kill him. Even after getting stabbed and electrocuted by Kureto's lightning-based cursed gear, Shikama Doji still appears to be unharmed.

Supreme angelic/demonic command as he has shown he can command over Seraphs and demons as he ordered Abaddon and Mirai to cease their attacks and they complied with his one-word order.

However, that only applies that nothing in this world can harm him last I checked I made three trips in different worlds that have their own specific rules that they follow. Most likely Nen and <On> are the only means I have to kill that bastard of humanity just creating one ability specifically made against him would also work.

It was effective against the Phantom Troupe when Kurapika made rules for his Nen that worked well against them if that is the case why can't I do the same then?

While I was searching for the weapons, I need I finally found them as I found an abnormal power level beneath the schools of Shibuya as I found them underneath the school.

If I recall the scene correctly this should be in the range of the Demon Moon Company barracks well looks like I'm going to be causing a scene soon enough better hurry along and leave Shibuya.

With that, I quickly went along and followed the power levels using <Search> and <Scanning> to find where my targets are at…

Traveling through the stairs underneath the school to find the building where there're the Black Series Demons better be worth the trip coming here. As I made my way to find those weapons, I see that they're being guarded by soldiers in this place.

Remembering correctly the soldiers of the JIDA should be around the power of the mass-produced cursed gear, a much weaker form of cursed gear, usually a yaksha- or myo-o- class weapon. These can increase a regular human's strength by three to four times, but these weapons could still be broken by stronger weapons.

Although they could also give some mind resistances since they did defeat a demon albeit a weaker one but still something to defend against mind-related attacks to a degree.

No use arguing now since I don't know if they fall under the pressure best quick strikes to the neck should do the job.

*Swoosh*

*Thud*

*Thud*

"Wha-!"

Just like that, they didn't have the chance to defend themselves although I did put the bare little effort into those strikes so I guess the power boost of themselves getting 3 or 4 isn't wrong.

But then again those are just the enchanted gear versions that give that power boost while a normal cursed gear gives out a 7-time multiplier to their host.

Making sure they stand up for the job I casually went inside the building where I saw the large amounts of power levels from earlier are and this was the place. With the demonic statues and a creepy satanic level shit then I'm in the right place.

The Black Demon Series is the strongest Cursed Gear because they contain the highest-ranking demons. Many of the demons are aggressive, specializing in power amplification and weapon enchantment.

The death rate of those who challenge Black Demons is exceedingly high compared to other Demon Weapons. Not many people are capable of wielding a Black Demon weapon.

Anyone who is a candidate for the Black Demon Series has been experimented on, but these candidates are exceedingly difficult to create. Successful candidates are even rarer. Anyone bearing this rank of weapon can easily kill multiple vampires armed with second-class weapons.

Although the whole ceremony room could without the creepy statues around, they are just downright disturbing honestly but what do I know about a demon taste anyway.

With that, I see the options in front of me as I examine the weapons before me as well as the powerful demons that reside inside them.

A sword type of Cursed Gear that contains the demon Asuramaru. It has a special ability called Asura-Kannon that materializes an array of swords behind its bearer.

A twin sword type of Cursed Gear that contains the demon Kiseki-o. It has a special ability that materializes and opens the devil's coffin on the count of nine.

A bow-and-arrow type of Cursed Gear that contains the demon Gekkouin. It provides its bearer with the ability to see great distances, and it can fire bird-like arrows at multiple targets simultaneously.

To be honest it feels like I'm somehow choosing a Pokémon starter for some reason. Is it because the choices I have to choose from differ from each other?

Well, the sooner I get to choose a weapon the sooner I can leave this place but if I were to choose for power then…

Stepping towards the sword-type Cursed Gear I got closer to the circle as I talked to myself as I went in to hold the sword, "Guess I have to start with you Asuramaru. Better to keep you than give you to that Eren Yeager punk Yu in the future."

Just as I grab the weapon that was when I felt something or someone trying to invade my mindscape as I felt my Nen flare up at that moment. Nen is part of my life force and mental force of course it would also notice something up.

Guess that means that Asuramaru is trying to take over my body but unluckily for him I have the best defense for the mind from the MHA world as the likes of <One for All> and <All for One> providing me protection.

Better meet the demon to see if he wants to play my game. Relaxing my body, I began to meditate as I go inside to see my mindscape…

Remerging into my mindscape I see the demon Asuramaru out in the open as he glares hatefully at me not taking control of my mind.

Smirking at the demon in question I taunted him to try his luck in a confident tone, "What's the wrong Asuramaru? Having a tough time entering my mind or even controlling it?"

That only made the demon angry as he seems to notice he has no control over my mindscape because I'm the Master of It, not some random invader. Guess this is a first for this old monster that a human managed to beat him in his own game.

Being a demon consumed with the desire to possess others, Asuramaru is cunning and tapped into others' innermost memories and deepest feelings to exploit them. With what he has access to and what Asuramaru is capable of, he would be driven by instincts.

Sadly, if that was any other human that would work sadly for him, I don't fall under that category with my power and protection.

Asuramaru could only glare at me as he can't have access to my memories that easily as he spoke out to him with hate, "Human what the hell is this? I haven't met one with a strong mind sphere as this is where a human has full control. The previous ones never had this protection before and neither had full control…"

Grinning at the demon I know what they want…

Smirking at Asuramaru with a wicked grin on my face in my mindscape I spoke to him with a friendly tone, "Asuramaru how about we play a game? We both fight inside the mindscape to see who deserves to control my body. The winner is decided by who stands till the end or if one of us admits defeat."
