1 - "If you really want something you don't stop for anyone or anything until you get it."-

"ADRIEL GET OUT OF THE BATHROOM RIGHT NOW OR I SWEAR TO GOD I'LL SHAVE YOUR EYEBROWS OFF" I screech, banging on the door violently.

"Perfection takes time Cece, yOu wouldn't know" my remarkably annoying older brother shot back. My name's Cierra by the way, Cece for short. Cierra Rodgrgiuz for long.

I'm around 5'4 or 5'5 and have wavy shoulder-length almond coloured hair.

I let out a snort and roll my eyes "yah sure buddy, whatever floats your boat." A couple of seconds later, the door opens and there stands my 5'8 brother with his curly dark hair dripping water on our hardwood floor.

Glancing at the grandfather clock at the end of the hallway which read, 6:55 AM, I shove him out of the way and rush my day routine noticing I only had around 10 minutes to reach the bus stop.

As I finish tying my mousy hair into a pony, I rush towards the dining table to pour myself a glass of orange juice and observe a very passed out Ma on our couch.

For a woman taking care of 2 children on her own in her late forties, she looked good. Couldn't say the same about the bags under her eyes, though.

My father got her pregnant at the age of 20 and passed away due to being a drug addict, never got to meet him and frankly, I'm quite thankful for it too.n

I've never heard much about him from Ma and I respect that. It isn't like she hasn't tried to move on though, she has.

There's always that occasional date she goes for but none of them really last long.

I guess she just doesn't have time for romance in her life anymore, which is sad. She deserves more happiness than the world can offer.

Ma has a short petite figure, almost like a delicate ballerina, making her look twice as exhausted as she is.

Being an artist and all, she spends most of her time in a nearby cafe called Cup o' Joes. Not gonna lie, sometimes it feels like she lives there.

I turn on the radio a bit, humming to the slight tune playing at the moment, waiting for Adriel, tapping my foot against the floor.

Our apartment is pretty big considering it's only for the 3 of us and with Adriel graduating this year, its gonna start getting really lonely here pretty soon, myself being a junior. I shake my head, sighing.

Adriel comes out in his classic blue hoodie, black ripped jeans and vans combo, while ruffling is dark sandy hair, covering one of his eyes.

Now lemme tell you something about Adi, he's really lame. like. really, REALLY lame. On a spiritual level lame. But he's also a good brother at times.

He gets me out of all the shit I manage to get myself into. He's not really the most popular kinda guy at school but he doesn't seem to mind it, neither of us do.

We're the Rodriguez's, we're used to being unnoticed. Adi isn't exactly horrible looking either, I mean he does have his fair share of girls behind his back but too bad his nerdy personality kills it.

Last I checked, he has a girlfriend named Delilah but they're an on and off thing so guess he hides his stupidity pretty well in school, yet I'm, not one to judge. My love life's as sour as lemons.

Adi and I are polar opposites, except for our skin tone and last names you could barely make out that we're siblings. I'm more of the social butterfly, no not really, I lied, but I'm definitely more extroverted than Adriel anyway.

I spend most of my free time playing pranks with my best friend or sporting around whereas Adi, on the other hand, spends his time moping around listening to old indie bands and building things, yah, yah he's definitely the brains of the duo.

but hey! it's better to be an outgoing idiot than an introverted genius am I right?

"Oii idiot, you comin or not?" Adi said snapping his fingers in front of me. "Huh?" I asked confused. I should really stop zoning out.

"school? late? hello, earth to Cece?"

"OH FUCK."
