Author: This is not to say no political enemy goes untortured, just that a princess or someone so high up but without power works as a good spy, a good source of information, and also a good romance (for those who want to create peace.)

In this scenario the captive is likely better treated than some peasants as torturing for information will often give rise to lies or half truths and the things you want to hear.

In this scenario a spy is almost impossible to create with violence and only through pretty words as anyone would notice something wrong if you laid a hand onto the enemy.

In this scenario if you want to give rise to peace you can easily just seduce the captive as that would give you some form of official standing in the enemies country / state.

This is also under the assumption that:

A. tensions are high enough for kidnapping to happen.

B. war hasn't broken out due to the two sides being so evenly balanced that war is a suicide pact.
