6 8 Years Later

Black Dragon continent. Nightray Empire. Royal Capital.

Within the palace walls in a spacious courtyard that was gated off by a 4-foot-tall fence, under a large tree surrounded by lush green grass, Lay an extremely handsome young boy. Who possessed Natural white hair that was cut short in the back, with long bangs that went down to his chest, and a wing shaped earring with a long chain attached to it that reached the half way point of his neck.

His eyes were calmly closed as he rested against the tree, and on the ground next to him lay a small headband made of a dark silver that held a small colorless diamond shaped gem in the center. Next to this small crown lay a 4 foot-long, black, dual sided practice spear that was made perfectly to fit the young child's size.

This boy was Riel, and it had been almost 8 years since he reincarnated into this world. Most of his time was now spent in this seemingly sleep-like state but, in actuality he was constantly absorbing Soul energy from the atmosphere.

Through years of practicing the Chaotic Soul Art he had finally reached the second layer and now, using his soul he could send out multiple small waves of energy to see the silhouettes of objects and people around him in a 50-meter radius. This was basically a much higher graded version of how bats used echo location in his previous life. but instead of sound, he used soul waves.

He hadn't come across a single person whose soul was powerful enough to sense these small soul waves not even his father seemed to notice so he used them freely. The only downside was if he used it to much, he would become very sleepy and pass out.

Even though he had reached this stage with his technique, he never gave up on using his regular senses to function. Ever since he was 4 years old, he never ran into a wall again, and his remaining 4 senses were far more powerful than anyone he knew due to his constant training from young.

During these years he rarely left the palace as he attracted far too much attention do to his unique looks and presence. And within the palace he spent his time learning to read from his mother with the use of jade slips that poured information directly into his mind so, even though he couldn't see he was able to learn about the world around him.

He also requested for his father to train him with the spear and overtime he surprised everyone when he wanted his spear to be dual sided and also detachable, so he can hold two short spears at once.

This was far more difficult than training the spear regularly, as you had to split your mind in two, and along with him being blind it was especially difficult. But his father allowed it only because he knew his son's soul and learning abilities were a lot more powerful than usual due to his constant absorbing of soul energy although he didn't tell Riel this, he knew about it all these years.

So, training his basic spear technique, 'sleeping', and on rare occasions playing with his two older sisters, Rize and Yara or sparring with his big brother and oldest sister Iris was how Riel spent all of his time he didn't even say more than a few words to the maids in the palace.

And as for the other members of the Nightray clan that lived in the large outer-rim of the royal palace he hadn't met a single one as his parents wanted to protect him from being bullied and plotted against by others.

"Little Brother!" two young girlish voices called out to him from afar, but he pretended not to hear as he remained silent and continued his training.

Soon they approached him, and once they noticed him still laying there unmoved by their earlier shout Rize became angry and flicked him hard on the forehead.

"You dare not answer our call, you can hear from much further than that Riel. Besides that, mother told you to have your crown on at all times why do you have it laying there on the ground!" She grumbled angrily.

"Rize! why do you always have to hit our brother leave him alone. She said with a glare as she picked up Riel's crown. She closed her eyes and whispered "open." Her eyes went from their normal black to a shocking yellow and her pupils formed into a diamond shape. She raised her hand and her palm began to glow as she patted the slightly red mark on Riel's head making it disappear.

After that she put the crown she was holding on Riel's forehead with a warm smile. "She's right though little brother mother will be angry if she sees you without it." After that her eyes returned to normal.

During this whole scene Riel still didn't make a move but after Yara healed him, he finally gave a light smile and got up to greet his sisters.

"Sorry Rize I wasn't paying attention. and thanks Yaya you're the best." He patted Yara's head like he was the big brother and she smiled lightly accepting it as a normal matter.

"Humph... as long as you know you're wrong." Rize said, slightly embarrassed because Riel didn't react to her flick at all.

"Riel, mother sent us to tell you that in 3 days the awakening ceremony for all the 8-year-old children in our clan will begin. Since your birthday is also in 3 days our father is holding a feast and has invited his old Friend Emperor Brightflame, as well as many kings from under our rule to attend."

"Mother knows you don't like crowds, but you still have to behave and that means keeping your crown on at all times you're still a prince, so you better not run away or ill beat you to a pulp!"

Said Rize with an evil smile.

Riel gave a light sigh. "Fine, I know what to do I'm going to rest some more now I'll be at dinner later okay?" After saying that Riel sat down once again under the tree and dozed off again instantly.

His sisters long used to this behavior from him, didn't bother to reply as they left the courtyard silently as to not disturb him.

"Danm... Looks like I can't avoid meeting my clan members now. I was hoping I would already be a cultivator when the time came."

Riel knew that this day would come, that's why he trained so hard all this time. He knew that from now on he would be seeing a lot more of his clan members and the world outside the palace walls. From the books that he read he was even more sure that this world was exactly like he initially believed, kill or be killed.

If you weren't strong enough your corpse would become a stepping stone for someone else. This wasn't an outcome he wanted for himself.

After a moment he pushed those thoughts aside and focused his mind. Mere seconds passed before he was back in his mind space staring at the demonic-half-silhouette. Even after all this time it hadn't disappeared from inside him.

Overtime Riel noticed that a majority of the soul energy he was absorbing was going inside the silhouette and as the years passed the silhouette became more and more corporeal because of it.

This was also the reason it took him so long to reach the second layer of the Chaotic Soul Art otherwise it would have happened years before now. Riel never complained about it since the cultivation arts he received did in fact come from it.

And since he only felt familiarity and closeness toward it, he never questioned its actions only coexisting with it. lately though he noticed that it was absorbing less and less soul energy from him, so he figured once it stopped completely something would happen or he might get another cultivation technique.

He didn't think too hard about it though and continued his cultivation silently under his tree.

...

Within the outer-rim of the Royal Palace In a very large mansion a large muscular man with a shaven head and a long black beard with piercing red eyes and diamond-shaped pupils sat on a throne giving off a ruthless aura; and below him sat A woman who was had the body of a seductress and smile that could make almost any man weak in the knees, her smile was aimed at the two men kneeling in the small throne room but if one looked closely they would notice a dagger behind that gorgeous smile of hers.

"What are your reports will that waste be joining the awakening ceremony or not?" The Large man barked at the men kneeling below as a volcanic aura erupted from his body turning the room boiling hot.

Then men below instantly broke into a cold sweat not because of the heat but because of their fear for the man they faced.

"Uh... Yes, sir Regis we have received word that the second prince will be joining the ceremony in 3 days' time. One of the old men quickly stuttered in reply.

The women next to Regis clapped with glee at the news.

"Good, even that foolish brother of mine couldn't keep his son from this." You've done well I dont have to take your lives today your dismissed, he said lightly.

Hearing this to the two old men, sounded like bells from the heavens as they quickly shuffled out of the room.

"My husband you seem to have a plan for this occasion?" The women asked in honeyed voice.

"Sheera, I always have a plan you will see soon enough don't worry, just tell Dorian to visit me before the ceremony.

"Our son will be ready my husband" Sheera leaned over toward the man's ear and replied with a whisper.
