80 Heavy Gratitude

Soon enough, the others also arrived.

"See, I told you he would be safe." Zhang Xiaoqin had never once doubted that Lan Xiang would be victorious.

"You didn't even go inside, how would you know how strong the ghosts were?" Ye Qingle drew an exhausted breath as she still hadn't recovered enough qi or stamina.

Ren Weiwei and Lu Xifa stood behind Xie Jian with looks of concern, but they dared not show it with the latter there.

"Why didn't you go through the portal with me?" Xie Jian questioned Lan Xiang angrily.

"Well, I had no time to... the Spider Loli- I mean, Spider Queen blocked my way.

"Wow, you really exorcised the Spider Queen, huh," Ren Zhao commented from the side.

"Wait... exorcised? Xiang, I thought you had no qi left? How come you could use the exorcism technique one more time?" Xie Jian raised an eyebrow.

"I didn't use the exorcism technique. I just punched her and bam! She dusted." Lan Xiang grinned, proud of what he did.

"...What? You didn't exorcise her?" Jiang Yilun felt beads of sweat rolling down her face. "L- let's get out of here!"

"Too late, hee hee."

The qi that Lan Xiang thought was just remnants of the Spider Queen flew around like a whirlpool, slowly forming a body reminiscent of the Spider Queen.

"Ah, that felt good."

The Spider Queen was reborn once more.

The spider half of her body was replaced with two thin human legs, and her boobs... they were gone. She looked like an elementary school girl now, sans her menacing grin. Unlike before when she was naked, the Spider Queen wore a gothic dress, gloves, leggings, and dolly shoes, all black. Combined with her ear-length black hair, the overall darkness of her outfit made her pale skin stand out all the more.

Xie Jian clicked her tongue as she pulled Lan Xiang up to stand. "You're really like a cockroach, you know?"

Everyone got ready to fight as they glared at the reformed Spider Queen. Even though most of the strong ones among them already had their qi depleted, with only Zhang Xiaoqin full of qi, they still took an offensive stance. Ren Weiwei, Ren Zhao, Jiang Yilun, and Gao Xiandao stood side by side as the normal people group.

Seeing the humans before her all ready to fight, the Spider Queen grinned as she opened her eyes... all eight of them. The pupils looked around for a bit before focusing on one person-- Lan Xiang.

Suddenly, everyone except for Lan Xiang was doused in darkness, trapped in a void where they could see nothing but themselves. Lan Xiang, on the other hand, could see only the Spider Queen as she approached him slowly.

With every step she took, Lan Xiang couldn't help but shiver. The Spider Queen right now was extremely intimidating as compared to before.

Lan Xiang gulped. What should he do now...? The Spider Queen had no more mountains for him to destroy.

The Spider Queen stopped, inches away from Lan Xiang. "Human, what is your name?"

"Lan Xiang." He habitually answered.

"Lan Xiang, hmm." The Spider Queen continued walking around Lan Xiang. After completing a cycle, she stopped once more. "Thanks."

"...Huh?" Lan Xiang blanked out when he heard the word come out of the Spider Queen's mouth.

"After eliminating all of the negative energy that resided within me, you've turned me into a being of pure qi." The Spider Queen gazed at her chest area.

"You mean... your boobs..."

"Yes, they were the storage for all of the negative emotions that I consumed. This was the source of all my hatred, my rage, my greed, my gluttony... but now that they're gone, I have nothing but gratitude for you..."

The Spider Queen gestured for Lan Xiang to get closer. He knelt on one knee, matching his height with that of the Spider Queen. She carefully placed both her arms atop Lan Xiang's shoulders as she inched closer to his ears.

"From now on, I will serve you," The Spider Queen whispered, "Master Xiang, hee hee."

She placed her lips on Lan Xiang's cheeks before chuckling and fading away. "I'll always be around..."

Lan Xiang stayed still as his vision came back to normal.

"I can see again!" "Wha- what happened?" "Where is she?"

A cacophony of voices swirled around the room as the darkness that once drowned them disappeared.

Xie Jian rushed towards Lan Xiang who still had one knee on the floor. "Xiang! What happened to you? Are you ok?"

"...Spider Loli called me master." Lan Xiang stared off into the distance.
