49 Dol Fight Part 1

I picked Diabla up and turned to the two other fights. Amon took a risk and looked my way. Doppel slashed him across the chest and he vanished and appeared beside Bas. He grabbed ahold of the cat ghost and vanished into particles.

"That's too bad, I wanted to reward them for doing such a good job while I was indisposed." Suddenly, the aura of a Duke fell upon me. My knees shook under the shear pressure of the aura.

Dol lvl10 Blasphemer Lord

Rank: Duke

Standing a measly eight feet tall Dol wore a set of bone like armor that glowed a sickly green. It matched his glowing green eyes and contrasted his pale grey skin. Raven locks cascaded down to his shoulders and at his side was a silver handled long sword. The armor that covered his body was plated with few gaps. Many runes and enchantments covered the armor, and I was sure it enhanced Dol further. Worst of all was the charismatic smile on the gobling duke's face.

"Buddy don't be so glum. I tell you what before I kill you, I'll let you see something amazing. It's one of the techniques I came up with while I ascended." I swung my sword and unleashed a fully powered UDW.

The attack hit head on for a moment I relaxed. He hadn't dodged. In the spiraling blue flames I saw the image of a proud under world dragon. Then it screamed and fled.

The flames died away exposing the hole left in the tower. Where Dol stood the tower remained. He'd not only blocked my attack but took it head on. There wasn't a trace of a barrier.

He let out a low whistle. "Not bad, I actually felt that one a little. Unfortunately, I'm a bit impervious to that sort of attack. Sorry, I don't really mean to be that guy but I'm immune to your strongest attack." A small smile spread across Dol's face. "It's not like I've monitored your every step on your journey to kill me."

"You're lying it has to be some spell or an enchantment on your armor. I doubt even a duke would be innately immune to the Underworld Dragon's Wrath." I said.

Dol raised an eyebrow. "Is it my turn then? Not that I don't like the game but you're just a battle hungry plebe and I have things to do. You know, I thought about just subduing you and giving you to the thoughtful empire as a peace offering." He shrugged his shoulders. "It wasn't worth the effort. I happen to have three valuable hostages already." Dol said.

"The legion will stop you. The Legatos has been a Duke for decades. You won't stand a chance." Gwen yelled.

"I'm just a simple gobling and I have three knight class darklings from the old empire. But its sweet that your worried about me. I guess Stockholm's syndrome is a powerful thing indeed. Now, I promised to show off my technique." The smile vanished from Dol's face as if it never existed.

"Jopedoiden," A terrible green aura gathered around the tip of Dol's finger. I couldn't move. The pressure was to much. Aura unlike anything I've ever encountered filled the room. Grey static filled my systems. Errors popped up everywhere. What could I do? How could I turn this around?

I had everything I needed to be a Hero. This wasn't like before I needed something anything. I refused to leave Gwen and Doppel to fend for themselves. Golden energy filled my body unlike anything I've felt before. Through the spiraling of green energy before me I reached for the source of the golden light. Knowledge filled me and I brought my hands together. For the first time, I understood the golden spell. The tier eluded me, but I knew how to use it.

Golden Spell

Authority – A tier ?? spell that creates a private space based on the amount of Aura poured into the spell. When other spells are joined with this one the true power of authority appears.

I connected Authority with field on and felt it link easily into the spell chain. "Field On," I called then the spell fired. At that moment, I didn't know what would happen. When Jopedoiden was cast I knew escape was impossible. The aura was too vast. Dodging wouldn't work. Dol could strike through the tower itself to hit me. I wasn't about to leave Doppel and Gwen to Dol's mercy.

The spell struck and my world was overcome with dark green light. I screamed and pushed my aura into my spell.

In slow motion, I watched my barrier crack and fall apart. Terrible green light blasted my body and burned I burned. My health pool slowly dipped down as the spell passed over me.

All of that happened in less time than a blink but for me it was an eternity. I'd soaked up 90,000 damage from a single attack after my improved barrier protected me. So much for Authority. Instead of flinching back or cowering, I stood strong. My scales smoked and my bones creaked from the effort. Patches of my scales glowed a terrible red from the friction of tanking the attack. Still this Duke had failed to kill a plebe. That had to be embarrassing.

"Was that it? Where did all that bravado go? I thought you were going to kill me." I said with a smirk. My body was seriously in a bad state. Shit wasn't going my way and Dol's enchantment was down. That gave me an idea. If it worked in the research lab, why wouldn't it work here. It would also make it easier for the counter force.

Dol opened his mouth about to say something before pausing. "What are you doing?" Dol asked.

"I'm getting ready to bring the fight to you. The beam show is over let me see if you can use that sword of yours. I said.

"Alright bud, I get it. You have a trick up your sleeve. Well don't worry. I'm feeling generous slash me with that big sword of yours and let me see what you got." Dol said. I hesitated.

"Oh, you don't trust me." Dol turned around and exposed hit back.

He raised his hands in the air like he just didn't care. "Don't worry, I won't attack come on you failed the first time. Let me give you another freebie." Dol said. "It's the least I can do you helped me out so much."

"I don't get it what makes you so confident. Didn't I just sweep through here and kill all of your friends?" I asked.

"Friends, I didn't think a darkling could be that naïve. They weren't my friends; they were my fans. I can always get more of them. A shame about the tower. It took a while to get that copper wire in the right spots. I'll have to use something a bit more permanent next time. This old girl has kept the world quiet through many a research night. I really will miss her." Dol said.

"They had names and they died for you." I yelled.

"Don't get so emotional. You're the one who butchered them and ate one of them. You could have left but you had to fight me. This is what you wanted. Did it not work out how you planned?"

"Dawn," I called felt golden nuclear light fill in the halos covering Diabla's blade. I willed Aura Rush to maximum and the roar of Armageddon's chainsaw resounded. Black and golden motes of aura poured from Diabla's blade. I placed both hands on her pommel.

My body felt like it was ripping apart at the seams. This was too much power. My aura was draining at an insane right even as I replenished it through cultivation. My every breath was that of an Underworld Dragon's. The power of heaven and earth flowed into me with abandon.

I wondered; how long could my body hold out? A crack appeared in my scales and aura poured out like a geyser. There would not be any hand magic. This time, I'd move to kill with all my might.

"I can feel my skin crawl. That must be some technique you have there." Dol said. I looked to Doppel. Psyblades were ready but she couldn't move. Gwen looked towards the sky. She was waiting for something. Hopefully, she knew more than me. Whatever came to my call, it wouldn't be a friendly.

Diabla never felt heavier in my grip. The shear amount of power flowing through her blade was immense. I'd summoned dawn but I never had the courage to use it. Containing the power of a star was difficult containing three was tearing me apart. Dol stood with his back to us confident as ever.

I knew the odds were against me. This had to work, it was everything I had. No defense should be able to stop my blade.

The ground shattered underfoot as I propelled myself forward. All around me the entire tower shook as I accelerated faster. I positioned my body to deliver everything in a single strike.
