Trapped in his arms

*Knock* "Come in" Alice heard Xander say before she walked into the bedroom. She found him sitting on the couch wearing a simple t-shirt and a pair of black jeans. When he rose his head to see who it was, she saw how red his eyes were, like a blood moon and his face still showed no emotions. " What is it" he asked calmly. " I-i just wanted to th- thank you for saving me yesterday" she said feeling intimidated by his facial expression. "It's fine" he said placing his palms on his face looking quiet restless which made her think that he was just tired so she decided to leave him alone to rest. She opened the door and was about stepping out but the doors suddenly closed shut and Xander's arms were found placed on the door, but before she could say anything, he picked her up and tossed her on his bed. An hour later, Alice was found laying on the floor, her clothes had been ripped to shreds and the bed covers were covered with blood. She just lay there crying non stop before finally getting up, wrapping a towel around herself, and limped out of the room. Getting to her room, she sat on the floor and cried herself to sleep. Follow Alice as her life takes a turn after she lands a job at the company of the cold hearted C.E.O. Could this be a good turn or her worst nightmare.

Chapter 4. on fire

After weeks of non-stop work, Blue Lines' newest software development was finally complete. The launch event was scheduled for 9 pm on Friday, and Alice was excited to attend. She arrived at the hall, dressed in a stunning silver gown, and joined her friends Nikki and Brie.

"Wow, Alice, you look amazing!" Nikki exclaimed.

"Thanks, I was hoping to make a good impression," Alice replied, scanning the room.

As they chatted, the room fell silent, and all eyes turned to the entrance. Mr. Alexander Black, the CEO, walked in, his presence commanding attention. Alice felt her heart skip a beat as he glanced in her direction.

After the main event, Alice decided to head home, exhausted from the day's activities. But as she approached her front door, her heart sank. There, taped to the door in plain sight, was an eviction notice. Her mind racing, she felt a wave of panic wash over her.

"No, no, no! This can't be happening!" Alice exclaimed, feeling tears prick at the corners of her eyes.

Just then, her phone rang. It was her mom.

"Alice, sweetie, we've been trying to reach you. How was your day?" her mom asked, concern etched in her voice.

Alice broke down, explaining the situation to her mom.

"Don't worry dear, we know already. Your brother came to see you earlier and found the note. So i spoke with an old friend of mine, and she has agreed to have you stay over, okay?"

"Thank you mom." She said wiping away her tears.

"Anything for you my dear, I'll text you the address, go there immediately, okay"

"Yes mom, thank you" Alice said and hung up the phone. She glanced at her apartment, one last time, before picking up bags and leaving.

As Alice arrived at the address, she was enveloped in an aura of opulence. The grand entrance, with its sweeping staircase and crystal chandelier, seemed to whisper secrets of the past. The elderly couple, Mr. and Mrs. Black, welcomed her with warm smiles, their eyes twinkling like stars in the night sky.

"Alice, dear, welcome to our home," Mrs. Black said, embracing her.

"Thank you so much for having me," Alice replied, trying to hide her surprise.

They all talked for a little while, before everyone went up stairs, to get some rest.

The next morning, Alice joined the family for breakfast, trying to process the unexpected turn of events.

"Alice, good morning my dear, come and have your seat. I want to introduce you to my sons, Alex and Aiden." Said Mrs Stacy Black while gesturing to the figures sitted next to her. Alice couldn't believe what she saw. It was her boss, Mr Alexander Black, and the guy who knocked her off the road the other day.

As she looked at Alex and Aiden, she felt her heart racing, and the wicked smile on Aiden's lips only added to her discomfort.

"Good morning, Alice," Alex said, his voice firm but polite.

"Good morning sir," Alice replied, trying to sound calm.

Aiden chuckled. "So, Alice, I see you're living with us now. This should be interesting."

Alice felt her face flush, unsure how to respond.
