Daddy

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

Two years have passed quicker than a blink of an eye. I am now five-years-old. My beauty has grown tremendously. My eye color has gotten lighter, my hair- longer, thicker, and shinier. I grew much taller as well. I can run without falling; in fact, my balance has improved so much that I am now horseback riding as part of my studies. However, not much has changed in two years. My dinner time is still with that trashman. Silent and uncomfortable as usual. There have been some instances where he has an important meeting, so I get to eat in peace.

Other than that, I am still forced to have tea with him on Fridays as well. Just like dinner, it is silent and uncomfortable. It's okay, though. I get to enjoy five-star meals and the best desserts from the imperial chef. I could care less to talk to that trash man anyway.

My studies are almost impossible at times, though. I have six classes a day with three scholars.

I start classes at nine am sharp, right before my breakfast. From 9 am to 12 pm, I have Science and Mathematics with scholar Hanz. He was the trashman's scholar too. Scholar Hanz is possibly the oldest man I have ever seen. Very thin and wrinkles all over. But I have to admit, he knows his stuff. This man can go on all day, bragging about how much of a genius my father was as a child. A 'prodigy' of a lifetime, he says. From 12 pm-1 pm, I have my lunch. I begin my 1 pm-3 pm Literature and History(more like Geography and the history of the Giodivonia royal lineage) classes with scholar Luca, an ivy league graduate from the top university of Giodivonia. Finally, from 3 pm-5 pm, I have Etiquette and Social Language classes from Lady Mia, the most famous Etiquette teacher from all of Giodivonia. Though she is so strict, she compliments me well. By 6 pm, I am changed to my evening attire and wait for the royal trashman to come in to have our awkward dinner session.

"His Majesty, the empire of Giodivonia is making his presence."announces the butler.

"About time, trashman." I mumbled as I waited for the french doors to open.

As soon as the doors opened, I did the usual curtsy bow to show my 'respects' to this dumpster of a man.

"Good afternoon, Your Majesty." I said as I bowed.

I could see his side glare and continued to walk towards the dinner table.

"Take your seat, Amara." The trashman demanded as he sat down in the middle-end of the table.

"Y..yes, Your Majesty." I nodded as I walked to my assigned seat.

"Also, stop referring to me as titles."

I looked up at him in confusion.

"Ah...then what should I call you?" I said in a hesitant voice. I can see everyone's reaction around me. Some, confused and others had fear in their eyes.

"What other children call their parents. What else are you supposed to call me?" He said as he took a sip of his wine.

My left eye twitched out of reaction. What the hell?! Call you what now?! You must have lost your last brain cell if you think I will call you anything but 'trashman' or 'bastard.' Yeah, right.

"Yes, of course." I sighed softly and nodded.

"Say it." He ordered.

I looked once more. Our eyes locked. I can feel his emotion through his eyes. He is not joking around. He is serious. Too severe, actually. Why is it that I can no longer read his mind? I can occasionally hear the maids or others. However, I am unable to listen to his thoughts. It's been two years since.

"F...father?" I said in a trembling voice.

He placed his hand on the side of his head, having his elbow resting on the table.

"Hm.. that doesn't suit you. You are five-years-old correct? And of all, you are a female. Try calling me something else. Something more… suitable for a child your age." He smirked.

This bastard wants to die. Okay. Cool.

"I...I am sorry. I do not know what you mean." I responded with a confused facial reaction.

He sighed and looked at the french doors.

"Ezra, come at once."

Ezra stepped in through the french doors and approached the trashman.

"Yes, your Majesty?"

"What do kids call their fathers these days? The word father just seems… too… mature for this child. What is a more simple word?"

Ezra's eyes shot open in confusion. He looked at me, and looked back at him. He cleared his throat.

"I believe children call their father's 'daddy' as a sign of affection and love. It is most commonly used by young girls, like the princess; your Majesty." Ezra said with confidence.

"Hmm... I see. Alright. Amara, say it." Xavier demanded again, looking right into my soul with his piercing green eyes.

The room grew silent. I could hear the crickets chirping outside of how quiet it got.

This horse shit wants me to call him 'daddy'?! After hearing what Ezra told him!? 'Love' and 'affection' are the two things I do not have for you. Even a stranger can immediately know that I do not have those kinds of feelings for you. Yet, you are forcing me to call you 'daddy' in front of all these people?! Has this man grown senile?!

Shit… If I disobey his order, it's considered an insult to the emperor, and I can be punished for it.

Ugh, why is my life like this? Alright. This is life or death.

"...Daddy..." I said, looking down.

"Hm... That sounds much better. Alright, starting today, you will only call me that. Do you understand, Amara?" He ordered once more.

I looked up at him, and I could see Ezra's face in complete shock. The maids and butlers looked like they had seen a ghost, and he- the bastard smiling. My life sucks.

"This game just got a bit interesting." He smirked.
