11 Preparing For Chad's Birthday [5]
"As you all know that we are hosting a party at my house tonight...and I hope that you all come" he said with a smile.
"What? Sir Chad, are you trying to say that we are all invited to your birthday party?" a man in the crowd asked.
"Yes and I want you all to wear a beautiful gown and suits"
"Sir Chad, we are too much to fit into your house"
"Do not worry, we have lot of space at my house. If you all can't fit into the house, you can stay at the other building" he smiled and looked at Rachel who turned her face away. "You all should go home and prepare for this evening"
"Thanks so much sir Chad"
He was called Sir Chad because they were working for Chad's parents. Even the elders call him 'Sir Chad'.
The workers began to pack their things and went home. Rachel took her lunch pack and helped her mom with the things with her. She walked pass Chad, but he was fast, he held her by her arm and pulled her back. She staggered with the things in her hands.
"Sir Chad, how can I help you?" she asked pretending not to know him.
She didn't want the workers to know what was between them so she had to pretend. She knew the news will go viral if the workers knew they were dating and it would reach Torres family ears.
She never wanted to be away from Chad and she also did not want the Torres family to chase her family away from the farm.
"Sir Chad" his eyes widened a bit.
She lowered her head and bit her lower lip, "What can I do for you, Sir?"
He looked at her for some seconds, moved closer to her and immediately grabbed her waist. Her eyes widened and flicker around the farm to see if any one was looking.
"What are you doing, sir Chad?"
"Why? Are you scared that people will see us like this? And will you stopped calling me sir Chad. I am not your boss" he gently whispered into her ears. His lips brushed her ear and then her face. She paused for some minutes.She wanted them to be like that forever but she remembered they can't be seen like this. She immediately pulled away from him and walked pass him. He grabbed her arm again and said, "I have something for you"
"What?"
"Just follow me. I will take you home too"
"No" she immediately refused. This was the first time she refused to let him take her home. Chad understood why she was acting that way.
"I know you don't want people to know about us but I can't stop doing my responsibility just because you don't want to be seen with me" he said and grabbed her hand.
Mrs beltran and Johanna who had been watching them followed Chad to the car. They all entered the jaguar XE and the car drove off.
Inside the car.
Chad brought out a spot PH shopping bags and gave them to Rachel.
"What's this?" she asked
"Clothes. I ordered for them. Remember you are attending my birthday party so wear them. These are clothes for you, aunt and Johanna"
Did he just say he ordered for them? They can just wear ordinary clothes.
"Oh my gosh! You bought clothes for us, seriously" Johanna exclaimed joyfully as she took the bags from Rachel and began to inspect them.
"Chad, thank you so much but you really don't have to do that" Mrs beltran said.
"Aunt, I really want you all to look good today and also you are my family too" he smiled.
"Chad tell me, how much did you buy all these because with the looks of it, it looks so expensive" Johanna asked Chad still inspecting the bags.
"I spend just four hundred and sixty thousand pesos on it" he smiled.
Chad didn't lack anything and had spent more than millions on their dresses, but he was scared that Rachel would reject him, so he had to lie.
"Just!" they all shouted.
"Chad, you spend four hundred and sixty thousand pesos on clothes. We are not that important" Rachel, who was quiet all this while finally said.
"You are the most important person in my life. You and your family are important to me"
"Four hundred and sixty thousand pesos" Johanna began to count her fingers to be sure of the amount she heard him say. "I can't possibly make that money in a year talk less of one day" she said as if she was going to cry.
Rachel was still shocked. She could not believe that Chad would spend a lot on her and her family. She stared at him like she wanted to beat him and he looked at her.
"What?" he gave her a questioning look.
"Do you think because you are rich, you can spend money the way you like?"
"Yes" he answered in a cold voice.
"Really?"
"Yes, as long as I am going to spend it on you and your family, I will spend it the way I like"
Her eyes immediately became soft as she looked at him.
"We are the one to give you gifts but the money you have spent on us will be enough to buy you gift for this life and the next one"
"Forget about it. I will send some makeup artist to dress the three of you and my driver will come and pick you up"
"No" she shook her head
"Yes. Don't argue with me" his voice was cold but soft.
"Okay" she immediately kept quiet and placed her head on his shoulder.
The car drove to napsan, palawan and dropped the family at their house to go dress up.
Today, July 30th is Chad's birthday. People born on this day are natural born leaders. Leos are generous, warm hearted, cheerful, humorous, arogant and stubborn just like Chad.
Later in the night at the Torres mansion.
The hall was decorated with larkspur flower. A huge cake covered in thick white icing and decorated with tiny pink roses sat in the middle of the table surrounded with food.
The round tables were decorated with white cloth and colorful cocktails. The flowers hanging from the lighting mirror what was on the table which include arrangements of all white roses.
Every body wore a gown and suit. Greetings were offered out along the Mable floor tiles, dainty fairly lights added a surplus amount of colour to the parade of footsteps. A sweet melody was drifing through the busy atmosphere.
Mrs Torres walked down the stairs slowly holding hands with her husband. She wore a navy blue long gown. Her hair was tied into a top knot. Behind her was Mina who wore a red strapless mermaid tail dress. It hugged the top of her hips and showed off her firm, tight small waist but flowing out around her thighs. Her hair was made in a one- sided braids and had a smokey eye makeup.
Her mother, Mrs Sharon wore a blue long gown and behind her were analyn and Darna. They both wore beautiful gowns.
They sat at the round table covered with white laced cloth waiting for Chad to come down. After some minutes of waiting, Chad finally came down with a smile on his face. He wore a red glitter mesh suit. Every body smiled at him as he walked down.
He was really every girls dream. He was handsome, rich, educated and had everything, but what people did not understand was that he did not have a woman by his side. He should be like his other friends that spend almost every day with girls and change them like socks.
Suddenly, screaming swarms of children ran through the house, then they were followed by their parents. They all wore gown and suit like what Chad told them to wear even though it was not as expensive as the ones the others in the room are wearing.
"What are these farm workers doing here? Who invited them?" Mrs Torres was stunned. She never invited these people.
They are poor people so they should not be invited to this kind of party.
"I invited them" Chad said.
Every body was stunned. How could he invite low class people to his birthday.
"Chad, are you okay?" his mom asked. She knew her son would never invite these workers if not for a reason.
"Why mom? This is my birthday and I feel like inviting them" he said and walked to them. "Where is Rachel?"
"We don't know but I think they are on their way"
"Okay" he smiled. "Come in" he directed them inside.
Everybody was shocked. This was not the Chad we used to know. What happened to him?
His friends were also flabbergasted. The other time, he asked about Erica and how she was doing and now it was the farm workers.
Chad kept his face at the door. He was expecting Rachel and her family. Mina noticed him and walked to him.
"Chad, what are you staring at?" She looked at the door and saw nothing special there and turned to him, "Are you waiting for someone important?"
Yes, he was waiting for the most important person in his life. His one and only Rachel.
He started having the feeling that she might not come but he still stood there with the hope that she would come.
A black renegade jeep arrived. Every body attention was diverted to the car. Who could be this person? The car looked so expensive. Is the person very rich? That was the questions people asked.
Chad smiled immediately he saw the car. He knew who it was. The back sit down opened and a beautiful lady came out. She wore a red glitter mesh ball gown. She had a shimmer makeup and her hair was made into a bomb shell curls. She was Rachel but only Chad could recognize her. Johanna wore a one shouldered black gown and she had a natural makeup on and Mrs beltran wore a long black gown. They walked majestically into the house.
"Who is she?" people began to ask each other.
Rachel smiled at Chad and he smiled back at her. She was not used to wearing heels so she tripped, she closed her eyes tightly with the fear that she was going to fall but she suddenly felt that someone was holding her. Chad caught her in his arms and looked at her cute face. She shut her eyes tightly and her face was filled with child like fear.
