10 Preparing For Chad's Birthday [4]

At Holy Trinity college.

First lesson was already over when Chad came into the class. He walked to his seat and sat down and then his friends walked to him.

"Hey bro, what happened? Why did you come late?" James asked.

"I had to attend to something" he said and began to unpack his books from his bag.

This was the first time he came late to school. Chad never misses class not even once even though he was rich but today he had to because of Rachel.

"What is so important that you have to come late to class?" Emman asked. Chad gave him a death glare and he kept quiet.

Rachel was just so much important to him that he could even leave his family for her.

"Hey, buddy, tomorrow is your birthday so we are going to have a party at your house today. Let's start the celebration today" Billy looked into his eyes. "Please don't say no. We have already called some girls that will party with us"

Since tomorrow is his birthday, he wouldn't want to say no so he agreed.

"Okay"

"Yes, thanks buddy" they said rejoicing.

Later in the afternoon.

Chad parked his bags and headed towards his car when he heard someone called his name. He stopped but did not turn back.

"Are you leaving already? You didn't even wait for me" Mina said panting heavily, and her heart beat erratically.

"Did you come with me this morning?" his voice was cold.

"No but..."

"Call the driver to pick you up. I can't take you home in my car" he said and turned to enter his car.

"I also heard you came late to class today. Where did you go to?"

"How is it your business?" he said and entered his car and it drove off.

Mina stood there speechless. She actually did not understand why Chad did not love her. She was beautiful, intelligent. She came from a rich family and she also studied in the U.S so why did he not love her?.

She brought out her phone and called the driver to pick her from school.

After Chad left his school, he went to San Jose national high school to pick Rachel and Johanna. He dropped them at home and they said goodbye and left. Rachel went into her room and changed her clothes and left the house with Johanna.

At kawanyanan grill resturant.

"It's a good thing my boss is a kind hearted person that's why he was able to pay you" the young woman said.

"Thank you miss" Rachel smiled

"No, don't thank me. Go and thank my boss. He is in his office"

Rachel and Johanna headed towards the office and knocked on the door.

"Come in" an old man sitted on the chair was reading a pilipino mirror newspaper. His hair was already graying.

"Sir, we came to thank you for giving us a job and also paying us too" Rachel smiled

The old man looked up and scanned the two girls faces for some minutes and finally said, "It's no problem. What are your names" he said with seriousness.

"My name is Rachel and my friend here is Johanna" she said politely.

"Rachel" he repeated her name and scanned her face carefully.

"Yes, Rachel" she was already becoming scared. She thought that the old man might recognize her as a farm worker, but he immediately let out a smile.

"You are such a beautiful girl. I will want you to meet my son this night. Are you going to be busy? Or should we reschedule it?" the old man smiled at her.

What? Is this old man going to arrange a date for her and his son?

"Am so sorry sir but I have a boyfriend already and he loves me so much"

"Oh...its a pity that you are already someone else's own" he let out bitter smile.

"Am sorry sir"

"You don't need to apologize. Your boyfriend is so lucky to have you" he smiled

"Thank you sir once again" they said and left the resturant.

Half way.

Rachel counted the money in the envelope ,"The money here is too much" she turned to Johanna, "Take this. This is for helping me"

"No thanks. It's your money and you want to use it" she immediately rejected.

"Are you crazy? What do you want me to tell my mom if she sees this large amount of money with me? And also you helped me get the job" she smiled. "So you have to collect it" she immediately took Johanna's hand and put the money in her palm. "You are not giving that back to me"

"Thank you" she smiled. "Let's go to the shop to buy the bracelet before they close" she reminded her.

At the Torres mansion.

Mrs Torres was on a phone call when she heard the honking of a car. She immediately dropped the call and went outside.

The back seat door of a Toyota rush opened 

and Mr Torres came out from the car. He wore a black suit. He was a tall, slim in his forties. He had got a black hair and gray eyes.

"Honey, you are back" Mrs Torres step forward and hugged him. "I have missed you so much"

"I have missed all of you" he said with a smile.

Mina rushed out and hugged him. "Uncle, you are back already. I have missed you so much"

"Mina, you are already a big girl. I can remember when you were still young, you were so cute" he smiled

"What about now?"

"You are very beautiful" he said and pinched her cheeks.

"Where is Chad?" he asked as they all walked into the house. The maids came out to take his luggages.

"Chad, will you come downstairs now. Your father is back"

Chad ran downstairs and rushed to hug his father. The last time he saw his dad was a month ago, so he missed his dad so much.

Mr Torres as the CEO of carpeDiem, making major corporate decisions and managing the overall operations and resources of the company with the help of his wife.

"Dad, I am so happy to see you again"

"Me too son. I'm very happy to see you" he patted his son's back gently.

The family chit-chatted, laughed and made preparations for Chad's birthday.

Later at night.

Chad's friends were going crazy. The music was so loud. Chad had no choice but to join them. Soon, some girls arrived, each wearing bikinis walked to them.

"Chad doesn't need a partner" Billy immediately said to the girls.

He remembered what Chad did to Erica. He did not want that to happen again.

"Oh, okay, but isn't he the celebrate? He should have a partner" one of the girls said.

"Hahaha....chad is not like us. He is completely different from us" Billy said and held the girl's waist.

The maids brought them tanduay gold Asian rum wine which was the most expensive wine in the Philippines. Sugar cane was the raw ingredients for tanduay rum.

"Who is that girl? Look she is sexy" Emman pointed at the lady coming towards them. She wore a red bikini showing her curvy body shape.

"Do you know her?" James turned to Chad and asked him.

"Yes"

"So is she the reason why you don't like other girls because you have her?" Emman asked

"No" he immediately answered.

"So why is..."

"She is my mother bestie's daughter and she is living here with us. Her name is Mina" he immediately said as if he knew what Billy was going to ask.

Mina walked to them, scanned the faces of the people there and finally said, "Chad, Why are you here alone? You need company?"

"No" he said without looking at her faces.

"But why?"

"Because I don't need one" his voice was cold.

"Hey, buddy don't be too harsh on her. She is beautiful and..." Emman licked his lips as if they were dried and completed his sentence, "Sexy"

Chad stood up, "You can have her if you want"

Mina's face immediately darkened. She did not expect Chad to give her to his friends. She did not come there because of them but because of Chad.

"I am tired already" with that he turned and left.

Emman pushed the sexy girl away from him and walked up to Mina

"Hey baby girl"

Mina gave him a death glare and turned to leave. He immediately blocked her way.

"Where do you think you are going? Remember Chad gave you to me" he smiled and moved closer to her.

She frowned at him and said, "Get the hell out of my face"

"Hey, don't be mad. Chad does not want you. Come to me baby"

"Get out" she yelled and pushed him away and ran into the house.

"Leave that girl alone and let's continue partying" Billy said to him.

In Mina's room.

The door opened and two girls burst in.

"Mina" Analyn smiled and rushed to hug Mina but immediately stopped when she saw her darkened face.

"Mina what's wrong?" Darna asked.

"Chad does not want me. He even gave me to his friends" she said and sat on the bed and began to cry.

They rushed to hug her, "Hush now. Your mom is down stairs waiting for you.

She raised her head, "Really? Mom is around?"

"Yes"

She immediately wiped her tears and rushed downstairs.

"Mom" she called. Mrs Sharon turned and saw her daughter. She smiled and hugged her tightly.

"When did you arrive?" she smiled trying to hide the fact that she was crying in her room.

"Not too long. I was actually talking to Chad. You know, Chad is already a grown up and he has also become more handsome" she said and pinched Chad cheeks.

"Aunt, you have also become more beautiful" he smiled.

"Yeah. I don't do any work there in the U.S" She said and turned to Mina, "I hope you guys are getting along with each other?"

Mina looked at Chad's face for some seconds and finally said, "Yes mom"

"That's good" she said and took Mrs Torres by her hand. "I want to show you something, follow me"

She followed Mrs Sharon to the other room and the others left also. Mina stood there looking at Chad. She wanted to go to him but she was scared that he would yell at her again so she left for her room.

Next day afternoon.

At the sugar cane farm.

The workers were very busy with work. Some were gathering the sugar cane stick while some were putting them in the truck. It was a very busy day for the workers.

A jaguar XE car drove into the farm and Chad came out. He wore a blue jean and a black suit.

"Sir Chad is here" someone shouted.

"What? Sir Chad is here?" another repeated, confused

"Sir Chad wants to speak with us all"

"What? Speak with us? For what?"
