64 Chapter 61

So nothing much, Ekko was now pinning his hopes on the basement being more interesting. Ekko double-checked the Attic before making his way to the basement.

Who knows he really might find something out of this world. Once Ekko Was at the lowest part of the house he removed an old-looking carpet to reveal a hidden trap door.

There was a keyhole in the corner so Ekko used the second key and with a Soft Click, the door was unlocked...

With a smile, Ekko grabbed onto the latch and pulled the door open, but immediately regretted it as tons of dust flew through the opening, he quickly snapped his fingers, and all of the dust that was floating about immediately froze in place.

He then snapped his fingers again and the dust completely disappeared. Ekko finally opened the door only to see a flight of old Rocody stairs.

{Creek}

He took one step then another and another and after doing so thirty more times he finally made it to the bottom.

On his left, he noticed a string attached to the ceiling. He grabbed and pulled on it out of curiosity, but in doing so turned on all the lights.

But it only turned on half the lights, the other half were either dead or had blown out. And the lights that were working looked to be on their final legs, as well as they kept flickering on and off.

" If I was smart I would have probably walked right back upstairs because this is way too perfect for a horror movie scene." Ekko jokingly said to himself as he knew nothing was down there...Right??"

Though unlike the Attic the basement was a whole new ballpark. It was at least 10 times bigger than the Attic and there was so much stuff just lying around, it honestly looked like a hoarder's paradise.

There were old Memorabilia from this world, books lying about, and weird statues of things and creatures he had never seen before.

It was all so...weird but interesting. Ekko walked around while avoiding the occasional cobweb.

A box he was about to step on caught his eye, the title said "Infinity Train, beware."

The image was of a train, flying through Space while being devoured by an eldritch monstrosity.

" What a weird title for a game." Ekko thought before moving on. Not noticing that when Ekko had walked away the eyes of the eldritch being moved and glared at Ekkos Back before going back to its frozen position.

As Ekko continued to look around, stranger things he started to find. Old Roman armor, a weird-looking helmet that had Norse writing on it that spelled Huliðshjálmr.

Boots with the tag, Property of the Dragon King, cauldrons, musical instruments, Furniture, Mirrors that didn't even work and so much more.

Ekko was starting to think his old man was an addictive hoarder. But that didn't really matter now, because even after looking around for half an hour, Ekko didn't find anything that interested him.

But just when he was about to head back upstairs...

{Bang, Clackle}

Out of nowhere, a bunch of objects fell to the ground in an inconspicuous corner of the room. Ekko didn't react as he had not sensed anything, so the things must have just fallen on their own.

So before going back upstairs Ekko decided to pick the things that fell up and put them back in their place.

But that's when Ekko noticed something peculiar. Walking over, he was surprised to see that in that corner of the room, there was actually a small study, with papers and all sorts scattered about, but that's not what interested Ekko...no it was a book with a dark blue leather cover.

The book title said..."To my son Ekko!"

" This, this book is for me..." Ekko was confused but grabbed the book, a small invisible line attached to the book snapped causing an unknown chain reaction.

Ekko gently blew on the book to get rid of all the dust it had accumulated and his hands Gently stroked the cover page...

Ekko thought about something for a second before deciding to sit down and read the book. Sitting down on the Wooden armchair, Ekko took a deep breath before opening the cover.

[ Hello son, if you're reading this then I and your mother are most likely dead.

You probably have a lot of questions you wanted to ask us like why did you leave me...Where did you go...did you even care...and to all of those questions, well yes, I and your mother loved you with all of our hearts.

But we knew it would be safer and better if you were not by our side.

I was weak son, to others I may have been an unstoppable force, but for my family I...I let you down...I'm sorry.

In any case, you probably already know but I left everything I have in my name to you, the house, the property, and the savings I've earned over the years.

Your mother has also left a few things for you in a chest on the far left side of the basement, just use your Space Magic to find it...]

Ekko unconsciously used his Spacial powers to find the chest, and a second later he found it.

But then Ekko froze as his head mechanically turned back to the book.

[...Ahahahahaha, Suprised ya didn't I, your probably thinking, H-how did he know I could control Space and time, well son you're not the only one, though you're control over the two forces are much better than mine when I was your age.

Though a fair warning, looking into the past is one thing, but whatever you do be careful with how far you see into the future, because you may not like what you see on the other side...

In the drawer of my desk, there are some insights about space and time which I think will be of use to you, though I think you'll be fine without them as well...

There was something else I wanted to tell you, but what...Oh yes, you've probably already met granny Chio and the rest of the townspeople If you could...tell them, especially granny Chio that it was an honor being their guardian and protector...and son I don't expect you to do the same.

You live however you want to, that's all me and your mum could have ever asked for, but if you decide to become the next dragon, well right next to your mother's chest, I've left you a little present, something I used back in my prime days haha.

Hey, maybe in the future you could give it to your son or daughter...

But...if you decide you don't want to be the dragon for Yakushi, then you should have seen three golden keys in the box I gave granny Chio, just bring them down to the basement and the keys will do the rest of the work.

And one last thing son...if you love a girl don't hold back make sure you never hesitate... oh and one more thing...some advice from a father to a son...

Learn to love the ass boy, I can't believe my son likes breasts over a nice round ass, you should have seen your mother's a...

{SLAM!!}

Ekko immediately closed the book while reading that last part.

He felt like hitting his head against a wall. There was no way he was going to read about his mum and dad's sexual escapades.

'What's wrong with liking breasts more anyway, there Soft, warm, nice to squeeze and they make amazing pillows.' Ekko retorted in his mind.

' Wait how did he even kno...Oh right!! Time magic.'
