Chapter 59: Birthday & Reward

[Duke's manor, kartrik City]

When night comes the Manor suddenly transformed from once spacious entrance manor to something with crowded manor with decorative and servants all over

For this special occasion shun really went all out as he was dressed in a old fashioned noble black tailcoat jacket with collars pointing up, long slim black pants, black leather shoes, black shirt vest under the tailcoat, and white long sleeved noble Polo

Followed by his effort to looked good because of his position in the party as special guest, he in turn fixed his thick fluffy black hair into black hair with a split in the middle of his front hair while being tied down by a knot at way down at the back end of his hair causing him to look like having a ponytail that most nobles have

To make it looks smooth he applied a special gel on his hair causing it to look slim and sparkly when light hits his hair, due to having am advantageous gel which doesn't exist in this world, Shun's shiny slim hair was really attractive that it caught attention from other nobles

Even the maids and the butler's whom he have grown accustomed with gave him a thumbs up of approval for doing his best

"Kya!!! Shun! Your hair it's so shiny"(maid 1)

"You looks more like a noble now!"(maid 2)

"Awesome kiddo! Nice preparation!"(butler 1)

"With this you'll gain more affection points from the young miss!"(butler 2)

As everyone was praising him like the way it is, the vicinity suddenly turned awkward when the second butler suddenly mentioned something that both maids and butler's were noticing when they observe both Shun and Sephiria together

".... What did you say?" Asked Shun

As shun ask that the other maids immediately blocked his view while the remaining butler's pulled the second butler away and reprimand him for slipping it up, for some reason Shun could hear the shrieked of the butler which made him felt goosebumps all over

"What was that!?!?"

"What was what?" Asked the maid

"..."

"..."

In the end Shun couldn't do anything as he prayed for that butler's safety

Following that many nobles attended the party for Sephiria's birthday which will maybe based on Shun's knowledge will be her 18th birthday a year that Sephiria will become a full fledged adult back in his world, but in this world it is depicted as her start of being at a marriageable age until 25 yrs old

Beyond that people would literally address you different as madam, mistress, miss, old hag, single, auntie and etc...

Due to the dukes position as the second to the highest to the royalty, many nobles tried to put up a relationship with him and tried to arranged a fixed marriage inspite of them knowing that Sephiria was called a defect for not properly casting magic

When Shun thought that they will be shocked upon seeing the once defect to an op mage, he couldn't help but chuckle in delight

This party was also used by other nobles to be able to get close with each other, this was apparent as the young male nobles, often grouped up and appraoched the young beautiful female nobles that doesn't have any  marriage partner yet

Upon seeing this Shun couldn't help but think of this birthday party suddenly turned as a courting party occasion, nevertheless since of his unique features and attar give hair which added to his charm coupled with his smooth slim face with no beard whatsoever that should be typical at the noble that aged 18, Shun is what you can say as a unique individual

Due to that some young noble women and young miss from other household often would steal glances at him at some times stare too much that they will blush the moment their eyes met

As shun looked around he suddenly heard a familiar voice that he didn't expect at all

Surprisingly the voice came from Leah who wore a blue sparkly dress while toppled it up with a chest blue frilly long sleeved vest on top of her sparkly dress

Also her hair seemed like it was down magnificently as it was trimmed to the end

"Shun! We met again!"

"Leah! Didn't expect you to be here! Your looking good!!!" Praise Shun

"Your looking slick as well!!!" Returned Leah

"So how did you get an invite?"

"Simply put it's my father's reputation! He actually has close connection with the Duke thus granting him a special guest position!" Pointed out Leah

"I see so he's the other special guest... .   No wonder!"

"Right!... . . But anyway I have news from the guys back in Ruric Town" stated Leah

"Really? I haven't seen that place like for ages!" Exclaimed Shun

"Well Misha has actually grown a bit all the days of adventuring and acts more ladylike, some newbie Adventurers often calls her big sis!"

"Wow what an improvement for her" praised Shun

"Alex in turn got his own female fanclub as his body temperament actually fascinated them cause of his built up muscles while also looking handsome"

"As expected of my him!" Said shun

"As for Lana... . . Well she's the same as ever"

"... Well not everyone can change right? Hahaha" laughed Shun

As they were speaking they in turn heard another familiar voice coming from behind

"Big brother Shun!!!"

"Brat! I see your still sane as ever"

When he turned around he was immediately tackled by Millia who dived head first straight at him causing her head hitting his abdomen making him flinch in pain

Apparently Viscount Zack and his daughter Millia were also invited thus making them meet up once more

"Big brother!!!" Snuggled Millia as she happily cuddled with Shun's stomach

"By the way how did it go?" Asked Viscount Zack

Hearing that Shun clearly knew what he meant so I'm return he gave an approving thumbs up as he said

"I've fixed her problem! I'm so good that In turn you should praise me!"

"Hahahaha good!... . . But don't push your luck kid" said Viscount Zack sternly

"Hmph! party pooper, mood breaker, kill joy" pouted Shun

Hearing that Leah suddenly giggled in delight as this remind her of the time back in Ruric Town, in her delight she didn't even notice that she pulled Millia close to her as she cuddled her cheeks

Seeing two female cuddling with each other made the other male nobles feel fuzzy all over, at this Viscount Zack suddenly released his bloodlust causing those unsuspecting nobles to flinch

"Hahaha! Protective as ever" said Shun as he noticed the situation

"You'll know soon the feeling when you have your own family... . . But enough about me, I actually heared something spicy is going on inside this manor" stated Viscount Zack

"?"

As they were talking everyone suddenly exclaimed in joy and shocked as Duke Alan together with his wife Cecile came out on stage as they welcomed the guest

Following that they Hereby announced that start of the program

Firstly they gave way for their daughter to be focused unto the stage that made everyone exclaimed in Surprise by her extravagant beauty of blonde hair coupled with her red eyes

Sephiria was cloth with an attractive color combination of white and black outfit mainly her long dress was pure black followed by a topped long sleeved chest leveled white vest added to her trimmed overflowing blonde hair

Not only did this show her adulthood charm, but this also in turn showed her natural beauty with an extra highlight from what a make up can do, this kind of fashion however was suggested by Shun after skimming through a model magazine

He knows he was the perpetrator but he never thought that it would look so good on her causing him to be in a daze

Seeing his expression Viscount Zack couldn't help but chuckle as his thoughts were confirmed

After the opening performance they started to head to the part of the program where people either greet or present a gift to her in a lined up position, while she in turn together with her parents behind her would wait silently

As the older nobles only wanted connections, the young and energetic ones were taking this opportunity to spark up a conversation with her as they praised her and tried to flirt with her

They even over exaggerated their achievements, nevertheless Sephiria remained kind and warm as she returned their every approach with a smile which further charmed them

Of course she would open the gift in that place to not embarrass the giver, this in turn made the line quite long

As for Sephiria herself she kept up a face as she tried to co-op with their praise and flirting, she also knew that she was tired of smiling, yet she still persevered

She received money, dresses, shoes, jewels, and etc... She was also given marriage proposal by those confident nobles, but nevertheless she doesn't know why she somehow felt empty after hearing and receiving all of those

Then suddenly the butler shouted

"Next!"

At this moment as if all of her fatigue was washed away as she regained her strength and energy upon seeing a familiar yet warm face

"Hey birthday girl! Guess your 18 now" said Shun

"Hahaha! Really I didn't even noticed the day" laughed Sephiria

Hearing her laugh all the crowds attention suddenly shifted between Shun and Sephiria as they looked at them happily conversing, especially Sephiria's who's smile suddenly turned much more charming upon seeing Shun

"So how's the necklace?" Asked Shun as he putted both of his arms inside his pocket

"Necklace? Don't worry I'll keep it safe and not destroyed" smiled Sephiria

"Good! Cause that thing is really expensive" smirked Shun

"I know... . . For you that is, but not for me" said Sephiria while smiling cheekily

"Hahaha! I see your already adapting the animes Moe Moe mode" said shun as he patted her head while smiling warmly at her

For both Duke Alan and madam Cecile, they didn't mind such interaction since this was already like an everyday occurrence to them

But the same couldn't be said to the crowd as they begun to feel suspicious of their relationship cause of their fuzzy and warm atmosphere

The young males gritted their teeth as they saw the lovey dovey scene, while the young females were blushing by this fuzzy atmosphere between the two

Some nobles also begun to inquire about him

Next up she revealed his present without even bothering to wrap them, firstly he gaved her a warm Neko cat pajamas that made all other nobles laughed in mockery form seeing such unusual outfit

Then next a mid sized stuff toy chibi Kurama(Nine-Tailed Fox in Naruto), this in turn earned a few more laughs from the crowd but this laugh eventually died down as they witnessed Sephiria suddenly Glee for joy

Not only that she was so happy upon receiving such things that can only be bought in Akihabara to be seen in real life, thus with this she lounged on Shun as she took the gifts happily and hugged him tightly

This in turn earned the shock expression from everyone upon seeing the skin interaction that was never seen before from the nobles

The only skin interaction that a noble could be seen in public was either they accidentally leaned on each other or they were coupling as a legal husband and wife, but other than that skin interaction there's nothing more

Of course as her best friend shun needed to return the favor thus he hugged her back causing another ride of surprised expression and blushing from the ladies

After that it was already natural that Sephiria danced with Shun in the first dance after her father demonstration with his wife, followed that she danced with other nobles while Shun was flooded with invitation from other female nobles that wants to atleast experience what Sephiria experience, especially the rare skin interaction called a hug that shun boldly demonstrated

With that after every dance with a young female noble, he in turn would hug them before separation which made them feel all giddy as they blush and intended to monopolize Shun

But nevertheless since they were many, he wasn't capable of dancing them all

After the dance the Duke made an special announcement to the crowd which I turn followed by the closing ceremony

After for about a party that lasted five hours into the night thus ending at 10pm, both Viscount Zack together with Millia who was reluctant to separate with Shun and Leah with her father waved their goodbye as they returned to their own estate

Following that maids and butler's with the guards cleaned things up, shun however intended to help but was soon called upon by the Duke to his room

When he got there he was surprised to see the Duke and Cecile his wife smiling happily at him, while as for Sephiria she was actually hugging the stuffed toy and the Neko pajama against her body as if cuddling them

With two sofa's facing each other and the former was full, Shun instead sits next beside Sephiria which even made the Duke flinch at little and the madam go "oh my!"

But for Sephiria she just returned that action with a wide smile as she thanked and hugged Shun for the wonderful gifts

Finally the Duke spoke

"Thank you for everything you did until now, I'm really grateful" he said

"No worries Duke!"

"Don't cut me!" Growled Duke Alan

"Sorry!!!" Apologized Shun as he stiffened

"With that me and my wife have been thinking carefully on how to reward you, and finally we thought of something"

"....."

"Say something punk!" Growled Duke Alan

"Ah yes!" Stated Shun quickly

Seeing this comedic atmosphere both Cecile and her daughter Sephiria giggled from seeing this

"Since Sephiria's departure is about the day after tomorrow, we thought maybe we could ask her what she wanted, and do you know what she said?"

"What?" Asked Shun

"She said she wants to spend more time with you... " Said Duke Alan sternly

"....."

Hearing that Shun glanced at Sephiria only to see her go "teehee!"

Seeing that Shun became even more conflicted

"So with her request, both me and my wife granted it"

"Don't tell me..."

"Yup! Exactly as you thought!"

"....."

With all the anticipation the Duke finally said the words

"Your going to the academy under our recommendation, and you'll be classed together with Sephiria, so in the exam pls. Make sure to show them that your worthy of doing a grade skip to second year, mid-year class"
