48 Revealing one's weapon

[A/N: Changed name of Meng's 1st move - Sunbeam --> Sunrise (as it's the first move, beginning, that's all I could think of xD)

--------------

The next morning at the Sword Discourse Arena...

Meng already fought 3 matches and he was currently watching Hengjun's match with other members of his clan. Hengjun was currently fighting someone with a cultivation base of the 7th stage of Spirit Profound Realm. This opponent was no longer underestimating him despite being much stronger than others Hengjun has previously faced.

Hengjun was on the defensive side, constantly dodging and occasionally using one of his first 2 moves to attack back but he was still falling behind.

Tie Zhancang looked quite worried but when he looked at Meng and saw him smiling without a hint of worry, he took a deep breath and decided to believe in his son's victory.

"You have earned my respect for being able to evade my attacks for so long and sometimes even fight back but this is it!" His opponent shouted and slashed his blade forward, releasing a big shockwave of profound energy in front of him.

"?!...Tempest!" Hengjun widened his eyes in front of that attack and for the first time used his 4th move as he had no time to perform the 3rd one to protect himself. He shouted with focused eyes on his opponent...

*WHOOSH* *WHOOSH* The wind from all directions in a radius of a few kilometers started gathering at the 23rd arena which garnered everyone's attention, however, once they moved their eyes towards that arena...

"Iron Spear Clan's Tie Hengjun wins!" The Elder announced with a few beads of sweat pouring down his back.

'...This kid, even I would be hard-pressed to match his natural speed! The young generation is truly meant to overcome us in no time...' The Elder thought.

Although most people didn't see how Hengjun has won his match, a few who were still paying attention to his long match noticed that he was suddenly enveloped by the sharp green aura that seemed to be generating the violent wind on its own before they lost sight of him and a cloud of dust appeared in the place he previously stood at and the next moment the cloud of dust cleared up, his opponent was already lying on the ground, unconscious.

"Little Meng...What just happened? Why did it look like an easy win for my son despite him being the whole match on a defensive side?" Tie Zhancang couldn't help but mutter but there was a wide proud smile on his face while looking at his son.

"Who knows..." Meng replied with a mysterious smile.

Hengjun already learned how to cancel the Tempest in mid-way to not gather too much attention but that didn't mean that he could prevent exhaustion after using it.

"I am back..." Hengjun returned to the group and said with a weak voice before sinking into his seat and throwing a pill down his throat.

"Good job, just don't overdo it." Meng nodded his head at Hengjun.

"Little Meng, some people were willing to give us information about your next opponent, Wu Xuexin from the Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace...She is already at the 9th stage of Spirit Profound Realm, you should be extremely careful of her frozen arts and also...er-" Tie Zhancang looked at the match number at the 21st arena and informed Meng but he had a bit of difficulty finishing his sentence as he kept glancing between Meng and place where Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace women were seated.

Meng immediately understood the clan master's worry.

"Haha, looks like we are already meeting someone from four major sects, it could be viewed as us having bad luck, well, at least by others. Maybe they told us this information just for us to feel despair, haha. Anyway..." Meng said with a carefree smile before he stopped to look at the clan master's face which slightly puzzled his clan master.

"There are numerous dangerous creatures in this large world but I still stand behind my opinion that the most dangerous creature of all is called "woman". When facing a woman, instead of my guard dropping, it goes up by at least twice the normal amount. But I guess I should refrain from ruining her face if I don't want to go into all-out war with Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace, haha." Meng replied with his mouth curled up while stretching his arms. His words caused Tie Zhancang to worry a bit but at the same time, he released a relieved sigh, seeing that Meng won't be affected by the gender and beauty of his opponent.

---Frozen Cloud Asgard's side---

"Wu Xuexin, your next opponent is Su Meng from Iron Spear Clan. Don't underestimate him and in case you will be pushed to the corner, just surrender." Chu Yuechan said with a serious voice which slightly shocked Wu Xuexin but she still nodded her head, after all, she herself still had no idea how Meng was defeating his opponents, therefore even though he might be only at the 1st stage of Spirit Profound Realm, there were no known weaknesses or strong points of his.

"Group 21, 16th match, Iron Spear Clan's Su Meng versus Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace's Wu Xuexin!" The Elder announced and both of them arrived at the arena.

As Meng was tucking in his sleeves under his black gloves with silver linings...

"Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace's disciple Wu Xuexin, please show me some guidance." Wu Xuexin cupped her fists and said with a cold yet respectful tone, from her expression it was visible that she was very cautious.

"Hm? Iron Spear Clan's disciple Su Meng, I will be in your care, fairy Wu" Meng was slightly surprised by his opponent's gesture so he responded in kind with a bright smile. Others looking at the match were slightly surprised by the change in his personality but they thought of it as him being just charmed by his opponent.

"Match, start!" The Elder above them signaled.

The moment the match started, Meng's bright smile disappeared and was replaced by an indifferent expression while looking at the beautiful woman with flawless skin in front of him.

Since his opponent has shown him respect and didn't disrespect his clan before, he stretched his right arm to the side and a crimson spear appeared in his hand. The moment a spear appeared in his hand, the pressure at the entire 21st arena changed.

'Even I am being slightly affected by this pressure! What a concentration and comprehension of the spear!' The Elder observing the match thought. Numerous people were already watching this match as someone of the four major sects has finally encountered one of the dark horses but when the mysterious sharp pressure appeared, it attracted even more eyes as Meng finally revealed his weapon.

---On the side---

'?! There is a fragment of Phoenix's soul sealed inside his spear!' Yun Che heard Jasmine's voice and widened his eyes.

'Do you mean the same we-'

'Yes! But this one has already formed its own consciousness, however, it also won't die like the other one since it is bound to that boy's soul and spear. However to seal the soul inside the weapon while maintaining the soul bond between each other requires a high amount of trust between both souls together with the user having a deep connection to his weapon.' Jasmine replied before he could even ask.

------

Meng's red eyes suddenly changed to amber color which slightly alarmed his opponent as she immediately assumed a defensive stance.

"1st move...Sunrise" Meng spun his spear in his hand once before firmly gripping it and thrusting it forward, the bright amber colored profound energy shot forward from the tip of his spear in form of a beam, attacking his opponent.

Wu Xuexin extended her arm in front of her and a thick ice barrier formed in front, however, when Meng's attack and her ice came in contact, a numerous cracks instantly appeared on the ice which made her raise her eyebrows before dodging to the side. The next second she dodged to the side, Meng's attack penetrated through her ice barrier.

'What kind of profound arts does he cultivate?!' Wu Xuexin thought with a slightly troubled expression. She possibly couldn't lose against someone 3 years younger and with much weaker profound strength at that...

She immediately moved forward, attacking Meng with her frozen arts. Meng kept on dodging her attacks with his Cloud steps, leaving a few afterimages behind.

Meng's legs were suddenly sealed by the ice with Wu Xuexin intending to strike his chest with her ice palm. Meng looked at her attack nearing him before recalling for how long they were already fighting.

"2nd move - Scattering of Light" Meng slashed his spear in a downward motion with both his hands. A bright slash of energy immediately attacked Wu Xuexin from a close distance which made her narrow her eyes. She quickly formed an ice barrier in front of her to buy some time but when Meng's attack made contact with her ice barrier, it got completely shattered with a big shockwave along with Meng's attack, blowing her body some distance away but...Meng's attack was meant to disperse on contact, it wasn't as if her barrier was the thing that blocked his attack.

When Wu Xuexin looked in front of her with blood flowing out of the corner of her mouth, she widened her eyes when she saw numerous bright spears flying towards her. There was no time for her to react as her profound energy was still in turmoil from the last impact.

"Wu Xuexin!" Chu Yueli shouted from the side and Chu Yuechan was about to make a move along with the Elder above the arena but before they got the chance, Meng appeared in front of her and shielded her from those light spears.

Numerous loud dull sounds resonated through the entire arena as the numerous light spears were impaled into the ground. Seeing the might of Meng's move, the Elder above started sweating a bit in Wu Xuexin's stead. He noticed that Meng's body was also impaled by those spears but there was no blood flowing out of his body, to the spectators, it looked quite bizarre. Within a few seconds, those light spears started to slowly sink inside his body, completely disappearing.

Wu Xuexin watched this bizarre scene not even a few steps away from Meng who had pressed his spear to her neck while looking into her shocked eyes with his glowing amber eyes, waiting for her to surrender.

"I-I concede...Disciple Wu Xuexin thanks for showing lenience." She said, trying to recover from her shock and once Meng put his spear away from her neck, she cupped her fists.

"...Iron Spear Clan's Su Meng, wins!" The Elder announced, shocking anyone who wasn't already paying attention to their match.

When they tried asking other people who watched the match, they were completely ignored as most people were just staring at the 21st arena with shaken expressions, observing numerous small holes in the ground with slightly scorched edges.
