Chapter 66: Substitute

The moment Lu Xie entered the kitchen, the staff suddenly open a path for her to walk on. Lu Xie didn't bother them and put on an apron, and took out some fresh ingredients.
Lit up the stove put a flat iron directly on the stove then put the ribeye steak. While that was cooking she then made fresh noodles, mashed some boiled pumpkin, and cooked the rice for the kimbab.
Her hands moved fast, without stopping going from one after the other, the kitchen staffs were in awe she was working on four dishes at the same time.
An irresistible aroma came from the food that was being cooked, making the staffs drool. They had never smelled such an irresistible aroma. Lu Xie was quick and in just a few minutes she finished cooking.
Put all the cooked food on a small push cart for food, then walked out of the kitchen the staff wanted to speak with her but they were afraid.
While the three were talking the aroma drifted into the air, Lu's mom smelled the scent and her head instantly turned in that direction.
"Waah, baby it smells so good" Lu's mom had drool on the side of her face
"Here you are mom I made your favorite" Lu Xie placed her order in front of her
She also put the orders of the two.
"Auntie, Eulia please taste my crafts and see if you like" Lu Xie smiled
"Waah, this is so fragrant" Eulias mom can't help but pick up her spoon and scooped some of the food
Upon entering her taste buds explode in her mouth, it was very delicious.
"This!? This is so good" Eulia praised her taste buds are very satisfied with the food
Lu Xie smiled and then also eat.
"Baby, your craft improved once again it's very good" Lu's mom patted her hand
"Thanks, mom I've been practicing" Lu Xie giggled
"You know you could start a restaurant these dishes tasted very good and the aroma is very tempting not to mention your skills are good," Eulia said in a business tone
"She's right Axie, how about you try to open a small restaurant first? You could be a popular chef one-day" Eulias mom added
"I'm sorry Auntie but cooking is not my passion but writing and also my cooking is only reserved for my family and future partner" Lu Xie grinned slightly
"Oohh~~" Eulia's mom looked at her daughter
"Your partner is so lucky~" Lu's mom covered her mouth while looking at Eulia
Eulia felt their gazes and had a slight rosiness on her cheeks. Lu Xie chuckled.
The evening passed by with laughter and happiness.

Eulia and Lu Xie walked by the garden after sending their parents to their room. They were both quiet and the atmosphere was harmonious when they reached the roadside.
Lu Xie took out her phone and called a cab.
"Lu Xie how about I send you home? It's dangerous for you to ride a cab when it's dark" Eulia said worried her driver was already waiting
"Thank you for the offer Eulia but my home is far and I'm sure you are also tired so don't worry" Lu Xie smiled slightly
"Are you sure?" Eulia looked at her worried a little blush on her cheeks
Lu Xie nodded then her cab arrived, she waved goodbye to her and enter the cab.
"Go to **** division," Lu Xie said coldly
The cab slowly left the hospital.
Eulia watched until the cab disappear before getting in her car and driving home.

"Come in," Shuna said
She was busy with the papers that she didn't notice the time.
"Miss, I'll get going now," the secretary said with a hoarse voice as she held the knob of the door
Her hand stopped moving and looked at the wall clock in her office it was already 8:00 in the evening and it was already dark outside.
"Where is Lu Xie?" Shuna subconsciously asked
"Miss she had already left the company 2 hours ago," the secretary said a bit tired
Shuna felt lost and waved her hand to the Secretary to leave, she rest her back on the chair and looked at the ceiling.
She can't explain what she felt, normally Lu Xie would always come to her office and get off work together. Then invite her to have dinner or cook for her at home.
Suddenly thinking about the word home, her legs stood up took her keys, and left the company. The car drove to the apartment she rent to go to after work.
Getting out of the car she stepped inside the elevator and pressed the number of the floor, for some reason she had a feeling of expectation in her heart.
**DING**
The elevator opened she hurriedly stepped out, pushed the key to the door, and twisted the door knob. She opened the door, but what she saw were darkness and quiet.
Her heart felt heavy and entered the apartment, the lights were off and there was no one in the living room. In the back of her mind, she remembered Lu Xie would wait for her in the living room.
And prepare her a hot meal and have dinner together. It felt warm and nice but she... Threw it away.
Shuna slammed herself onto the sofa and looked at the dark ceiling the warm house turned cold and lonely. Then she began to think about when she first put Lu Xie in this place it was cold and kind of depressing.
After she came the house became warm and relaxing, she had someone take care of her food and someone to welcome her home every night.
The images of Lu Xie smiling, welcoming her home, and cooking for her flashed in her mind.
Shuna felt tears running down her cheeks, she got shocked and immediately touch her cheeks her fingers got wet and looked at herself in a small mirror near the tv facing the sofa shes sitting on.
She was stunned that tears are coming out of her eyes.
"Eh, what the hell" Shuna wiped her eyes with her hands but the tears just won't stop falling
"Haaaaa" Shuna groaned and wiped her eyes furiously
After the tears stopped, Shuna decisively stood up and walked out the door.
She looked back at the empty room and the memories, she bit her lower lip and closed it.

Time went on just like any other day but one thing for sure was starting to change. It started inside then slowly it spread like a virus and was unable to know what to do.
In the finance department were all the employees were busy typing on their computers when the elevator sounded.
**DING**
All eyes looked at the elevator and saw a delivery man, the same delivery man who came with flowers 2 weeks ago to give them to their boss.
"Is Miss Lu Xie here?" he asked politely
"Wait, I'll call her" Lu Xie's secretary stood up and went to her boss's office

"Come in" Lu Xie's voice sounded inside
The secretary opened the door "Miss the delivery man is here again" she said politely
Lu Xie frowned, stood up from her seat, and went out her office with her secretary, she saw the delivery man holding white tulip flowers in his hands.
"Hello miss, a delivery of flowers for you" the man bowed politely
Lu Xie nodded but didn't take the flower "Next time if there's a delivery of flowers without a name like this please don't bother sending it. And tell the person who sent this I don't like white tulip flowers" She said coldly before turning her back and going back to her office
She got irritated by it, flowers would be sent to her at exactly 1 in the afternoon with no name and she didn't like tulips very much. She didn't have time to entertain this kind of thing and wanted it to end.
But the sender is persistent that it went on for 2 whole f**king weeks. If any flowers got sent again tomorrow they will go straight to the trash.
Lu Xie sighed heavily and finished her work, she was so stressed now and wanted to go see her mom. She packed her things and leave the company very early.
Upon arriving at the hospital her mom just finished taking a shower and was time for her nap, it was only 1:30 in the afternoon.

Lu Xie knocked then opened the door, Lu's mom was shocked to see her daughter.
"Baby, you came early. Are you finished with work" she asked softly
Lu Xie smiled then nodded she took a sit beside her mom's bed.
"Mom it's time for your nap you should go to sleep" Lu Xie laid her mom on the bed
"How can I fall asleep when my daughter is here" Lu's mom pouted
"Mom don't be stubborn don't worry we'll talk after you take a nap" Lu Xie coaxed softly
"But I can't sleep" Lu's mom sighed
Lu Xie saw a guitar near the bed "Mom how about I sing you a song" she said as she took the guitar
"Okay" Lu's mom smiled widely
Lu Xie strum the string of the guitar softly, then adjust it slightly.
A soft strum of the guitar chimed in the room, filling it with a nice melody.

The song was sad and hopeless, Lu's mom listened and just smiled at the song slowly she closed her eyes and went to dreamland.
Lu Xie strum the last string of the guitar and looked at her mom fast asleep, she smiled then kissed her forehead. Then quietly sat on the sofa a bit farther from the bed.
Her fingers then started moving fast typing on her laptop, she was immersed in typing she didn't notice a person outside the door.
