2 Chapter 2 The Guardian

"What?" Conner asked, shock at what Jack said. "HAHAHA!" Jack laughed wildly, causing his class to stare at him oddly. Immediately he clicked the roll button.

"Hyper Increased Growth Rate." Jack read as his eyes burned. This was an Epic, and an Epic that would enhance his speed of growth by 5x.

Seeing Jack's devilish smile, Conner knew something was up. 'Don't tell me, he actually got the Luck booster.' Conner pondered as Jack's grin only grew wider and wider.

'Maybe I can get another Legendary!?' Jack thought arrogantly as he thrust forward, tapping the roll button. Soon the words in his vision began to flicker.

"Unlimited Growth Potential."

The screen flashed as Jack grinned, the sides of his mouth nearly reaching his ears. "This is too great! Too great!" He exclaimed as his class looked at him oddly again.

"Whats your problem weirdo?" One of them asked him, as they flashed a look of disdain towards him. "Pff, trash." Jack simply replied as his classmate grew mad. "Fuck off, no good shit head." The classmate replied before ignoring Jack.

"So let me guess, you got some hax?" Conner asked as he inched towards Jack. "Hax is an understatement." He answered as Conner began to sweat. 'If he answered like that, then there's no hope for those who piss him off.' Conner contemplated as he pitied Jack's enemies.

"Well on that note, what did you obtain?" Jack inquired with a curious expression. "So the legendary I told you about before, a Rare Ultra Increased Growth Rate, makes me grow in all attributes 3x faster, and I got a Rare Calm Mind passive ability, apparently it will allow me to remain calm in any situation." Conner whispered to Jack.

This even made Jack himself sweat. 'This man, what is he? The Hero? If I didn't get Extreme Luck Enhancement, I would legitimately have no chance.' Jack thought, before smirking. 'But I did get it, so Conner will have to be my right hand man, not like I'll treat him badly, he is my best friend after all.' Jack continued on this train of thought before clearing his throat.

"Ahem, I got, Legendary Extreme Luck Enhancement, Epic Hyper Increased Growth Rate, which gives me 5x growth speed in all attributes, and Epic Unlimited Growth Potential, these should be pretty self explanatory." Jack whispered as Conner was extremely shocked, if not for his Calm Mind ability, he might've been frozen in place due to the shock.

"You, you're a hacker for sure." Conner muttered as Jack chuckled. "I mean, look at you your whole life, we're the same age and you're an entire head taller than me." Jack stated as Conner looked away as if slightly embarrassed.

"This takes hard work you know." He said as he turned away. Hearing this, Jack felt a bit bad, but that didn't matter now, they were about to be transported to a new world. 'I'll buy him a snack or something later.' Jack simply thought, before hearing the figure's voice.

"Seeing as you've all finished, I'll let you pass, good luck on your travels and may they be fruitful," The figure said as suddenly Jack and all of his class' vision began to warp.

"Hmm, who knew someone would get so lucky? Well anyway, I've fulfilled my duty." The figure said as he disappeared along with the white void.

Jack his class warped through space and tremendous speeds, so fast, that 99.999999999999999% of beings in existence couldn't even register their current movement speed. Not even those in motion could conceive what was happening.

That was until they reached another place. It was full of stars, and cosmic events could be seen everywhere. Suddenly a being which looked as if it encompassed the entire universe appeared.

"I am the Guardian of the Core, what might you people be doing here?" The universe encompassing being asked. "We come from the Outerverse, were told we were being summoned into the Innerverse." Jack spoke up explaining to the being.

"Ah, its that time again, I see. Well you'll understand once you're there, but you should all know, you're not going to the Innerverse, but into the Core of Existence." The being said causing greater shock to the class.

'If the Innerverse encompasses all of fiction, then what lies in the core?' Jack thought in shock when suddenly another screen appeared in front of his face.

"Well, seeing as its my duty, I am obliged to give you a choice of 1 power from the 3 in front of you, I warn you though, CHOOSE wisely." The being said before its presence disappeared. Without even listening to the being Jack was already looking at the options in excitement.

"Cultivator: Allows the user to sense and absorb Qi to increase their cultivation base, a terrifying power which will enable the user to sense the laws of the world and universe in the future."

"Goblin Genetics: Gives the user the genetics of a goblin, turning them into one, but this path doesn't come without benefits, goblins have an extremely wide range of evolutionary paths, to the point where they could acquire a bloodline of a divine level."

"Boros Genetics: Gives the user the genetics of Boros himself. This would allow the user to project their energy, grant them extreme regeneration, amazing strength, speed, and reflexes, and overall guarantee access to Boros' world ending power given enough time."

These were his options, and Jack was spoiled for choice. 'Hmm, cultivator, I always wanted to be a cultivator to be honest, the heights they can reach are disgusting. A goblin? I might have picked that, assuming I was a reincarnator and this wasn't my final choice forever. I mean who wants to be potentially stuck as a fucking goblin? Last but certainly not least, Boros Genetics, this, this is too great, that regeneration is disgusting, but the attack potential is okay considering what people like Goku can do. The main point about this power though, is I have a guarantee, assuming the Core isn't too out of whack with my luck, growth rate, and no limit potential I should be able to reach Boros' peak with in a couple years maximum.' Jack contemplated as he looked over the options.

He was almost fully decided. 'Also, who wouldn't like to see whats past Meteoric Burst!?' Jack thought, as he slammed down the Boros Genetics option, immediately the screen changed.

"CHOSEN: Boros' Genetics, Epic."

"Other Options:

Cultivator, Rare.

Goblin Genetics, Uncommon.

Rates:

Common: 60%

Uncommon: 35%

Rare: 4.9%

Epic: 0.1%"

The screen flashed as Jack looked at it curiously. 'So the rates here are different, not only that, but it seems I picked the best on in the eyes of the interface, to be fair though Goblins and Cultivators aren't exactly the rarest things in fiction, while Boros only appeared once.' Jack mused, as he looked over at Conner.

After the transportation he was still next to him, so he could see the troubled look on his face. "Need some help?" Jack asked calmly. "Ya, I don't know what these are really. I got, Explosion Quirk, Ackerman Genetics, and Gura Gura no mi. Like I understand what explosion does, and I think you've mentioned what a quirk is, but I am lost as to what an Ackerman is, and although Gura Gura sounds familiar these descriptions are only giving me a rough idea." Conner explained to Jack as he nodded.

"Well Explosion Quirk is strong, it makes your sweat nitroglycerin and allows you to explode it at will, its mobility and strength are decent but in the long run, it isn't that great. Ackerman genetics on the other hand, sound great and are bad-ass but that's only because Attack on Titan is very weak in some aspects, Gura Gura no mi on the other hand? Hah, White Beard was said to be able to destroy the world with its power and considering what else you got, I'd pick that." Jack explained as best he could as Conner nodded.

"I honestly don't know half the shit you said, but I'll take your word for it." Conner said as he pressed Gura Gura no mi. Immediately his interface changed to, showcasing that the Gura Gura no mi was a Rare.

'It seems he really is a Hero type character, to get an ability that nullifies all weaknesses and then obtain the a devil fruit, his luck is almost as great as mine.' Jack thought, as Conner to the side smiled.

"I knew you'd have the correct judgement." He said, while smiling at his friend. Their other classmates were currently discussing what to pick, and were randomly deciding based on what sounded the best.

'Idiots.' Jack thought as he chuckled to the side. Jack honestly didn't care about them, they normally ignored him at best or made fun of him at worst, due to his friendship with Conner no one dared to bully him, and that was their luck, considering what was happening right now.

Conner though felt pity for his classmates, and would have gone to help them, assuming he knew anything pertaining to the abilities, sadly he didn't and couldn't and wouldn't move Jack considering he knew it would just tick his friend off.

A few minutes later the being reappeared. "It seems you've all finished, and some of you even made excellent choices, some of you lack a bit in judgement but oh well, be well on your journey." The being said before the class vanished once again.

This time, they were moving at such a speed, it made their previous movement look as if they were moving at a snail's pace, of course, they didn't know that.

"It seems someone not only lucky, but somewhat intelligent appeared." The being snickered, before gazing at somewhere in the distance.
