17 Chapter 16 Discovery

Friday soon passed, and the weekend arrived. "Haa." Jack sighed as he woke up, the weekend was a magical time. 'So what am I going to do?' He thought as he looked around. Suddenly he noticed the rest of his roommates were gone.

'What the?' Jack thought, as he continued to investigate his surroundings. There was not another person in sight. "Weird, they must have already went to train." Jack said to himself as he rose from his bed and walked towards the door.

Although Jack was extremely enthusiastic about the whole ordeal, it seemed his 3 other roommates had a much better work ethic than him. 'Who cares anyway, even if I lose a minute or two of time, my perks will make up for it.' He contemplated as he walked through the academy.

As he did so, his stomach growled in hunger. 'Seems I should go get some breakfast first.' Jack mused before altering his path to the cafeteria. Once there he looked at the cafeteria confusedly. "Its really empty." He muttered to himself before walking towards the serving area.

He soon grabbed his food, before he sat down and ate it. Soon he finished his food, and put the tray in the pick up bin, before walking out of the cafeteria and towards the exit of the academy.

A few minutes later, he walked out of the academy and down the stairs, before running towards the forest. 'Its better to have a certain level of secrecy, just in case someone, or anyone is watching me.' Jack thought as he increased his speed, rushing towards the forest.

A few minutes later, he arrived at the forest as he breathed a bit heavily. "That's actually quite the distance, alas, I am too fast now." He muttered before taking off the armor.

Once he did so, his body turned into his full powered mode, as he grinned. "I always like taking off that armor, it just feels, so, restrictive." Jack said to himself as he stretched a bit.

"Now, for a bit of a test." Jack stated, as he suddenly bent over. "HAA!" He shouted as stretched his body outward, shooting a small beam of energy out of his abdominal eye. The beam then connected with a tree, burning and singing it.

This sight was a bit underwhelming, but Jack couldn't help but show his pride. His training had paid off, even if only slightly. 'This is only 5 thousandths, I still have a long way to go.' He contemplated before he noticed another facotr.

'My actual body strength has to be taken into account as well.' Jack thought, before punching forward a bit. As he did so he noticed a tiny layer of energy that encapsulated his fist.

"Odd, that didn't happen before." Jack stated before sitting down and meditating a bit. 'At first I only focused on my meridian like structure, but what about the rest of my body?' He contemplated before looking around his muscles.

As he did so, he noticed minute amounts of energy within each, and when he tried to compel more energy into a specific area, it would simply diffuse after a bit. 'This, is it the maximum energy capacity of my muscles?' He thought to himself.

Jack then tried something else. He put his armor back on and then inspected his body. Once he did so, he noticed something. 'The capacity within my muscles is much lower now.' Jack noticed as he attempted to compel more energy towards his muscles.

When he did this though, he noticed his muscles grow slightly, before soon capping out. This time it was about a fifth of what his full power was. 'So, I think I understood something.' Jack contemplated as he rose from his seated position, withdrawing the energy from his muscles simultaneously.

'If my assumption are correct, I know a couple things. Firstly my muscles have a certain capacity for energy, this probably impacts my overall strength and speed, but that's not the fascinating thing. When I am in my armored form, much less energy seems to be passively released into my muscles while when I am in my full power much more is released, so much so, it escapes from my body and seems to encase me.' Jack theorized as he took off his armor.

He then transformed into his full power mode. After doing this he sat down in a meditative posture yet again, and pulled the energy from his muscles. When he did this, his muscles immediately compressed and he felt like he was in his armored form.

Jack was elated at this discovery, but as he pulled back the energy, he began to feel severe strain as the energy wanted to seep through his body. After about a minute or so of back and forth, the energy won as he reverted to his full power mode.

'Although I haven't made much progress power wise, this discover, its shocking.' Jack thought as he grinned widely. 'I now have a theory as to how Meteoric Burst works.' He mused before getting up as he breathed out heavily.

"Man, I should have brought lunch with me." Jack muttered before clutching his fists. "Well, lunch time is still far away, so till then, lets to do some mass treecide!" Jack said as he tried to be funny.

He then charged as he punched a tree, denting it heavily, and even nearly breaking it. Jack then charged forward and the tree again breaking it. He then attacked another tree and another as his fists bruised more and more, before regenerating in a flash.

This process happened again and again, with no end in sight, till Jack's stomach grumbled. "Well that's a good time to end this training session, I'll go grab some food now, before meditating." Jack voiced as he looked in the direction of the academy.

'I have traveled quite a distance away from it, haven't I?' He mused as he chuckled lightly. Jack then readied himself, before running full pace towards the Academy, he was hungry and ready for some food.
